Smiling mirthfully, relishing amber twilit theme,
Bedazzled in musings, reveling memories agleam,
Oh! how you charm, gazing eve’s blushing arc,
Where scarlet hues delight, igniting love spark
When impulses, moonlit, passions playful cajole
As we stroll daydreaming trekking verdant knoll,
Ambling in romance, two sensuous souls extol;

Just after the setting sun merges with the sea
And sky above stages a concert of stellar glee
When seductive vibes on wings of zest spree
Questing for, stealthily, doting hearts’ consent
Chasing exaltation, love-struck hints augment,
Exuding scent amatory from emboldened heart
Intoxicating affection smitten feelings impart;

Clasping amorous moment together we found,
Where tick of blazing hearts is the only sound
But for the clues tiptoeing, arousing carnal bliss,
Pinging fervent longings yearning endearing kiss,
Enchanting intentions of eager, flirtatious night
Courting your approval, ecstatic reveries ignite,
Sowing dreams euphoric to bloom in fertile dawn
Aspiring love evermore, blossoming on and on.

A Day In the Life of An Aspiring Villanelle Poet

This form repeats too much, I say.
It’s hard to write a villanelle—
I’ll try again some other day.

My rhyme begins without delay;
It’s going fine, then—what the hell?
This form repeats too much, I say.

Doggone it! This is not okay!
I’m under some nefarious spell.
I’ll try again some other day.

But no, I cannot stay away.
I breathe, then smell that same old smell:
This form repeats too much, I say.

I took the bait; I’ve fallen prey;
The crude result I cannot tell—
I’ll try again some other day.

And thus I end this odd ballet.
(I’ve really never danced too well.)
This form repeats too much, I say;
I’ll try again some other day.

Aspiring

I hide my flame amongst the embers, slowly burning there
a little light remains as assssh, fuming gasssseoussss screams
a waft of smoke ascends from where, my little light does flare
to lurch in shadows on the wall and burst to sparks that sigh;

my lowly ember flickering flame may be all my fire seems
to dance with stars in the night, is what my fire dreams ...

Premium Member Dear Aspiring Poet

Dear New Poet,

Modern poetry to me engages readers in seeking their own deep or higher meaning to life experiences. It utilizes symbolism imagery and varied verse that speaks to intellect and emotion.

The best advice I have is that which was given to me:

1) Read all types of poetry every chance you can. Make notes of poets you like and why; note poetry forms that appeal to you.

2) Make lists of words, expressions, phrases you find fascinating, interesting, anything that grabs your attention. Also, keep lists of new words and definitions. I use phone apps for notes, lists, thesaurus, dictionary.

3) Write about your own experiences, beliefs, life. Write in a quiet place. Jot down whatever comes to mind, your feelings. Anytime you get an inspiration, write it down, record it. Those thoughts you just know you will remember forever will float away in no time at all.

4) Experiment. Try different word placements, edit edit, edit. Leave it for awhile or overnight. Edit again. Read your piece outloud. Pay attention to awkward points and edit those.

5) Have fun with it. Throughout the day, observe situations and people. Be open to suggestions and critiques. Poets never stop learning.

A workshop assignment led me to poetry at a time when I was emotionally on overload. Besides being therapeutic, writing poetry gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Favorite THEMES include the joy and pain of 1) Love, 2) Family, 3) Sobriety, 4) Death, 5) Nature.

My favorite REFERENCE sources are: 1) rhymezone.com, 2) howmanysyllables.com, 3) PoetrySoup Cliche Finder, 4) smallseotools.come, 5) shadowpoetry.com

Favorite poems I have written are: 1) Grandsons, 2) Absence, 3) Remembering Johnna, 4) Lady, 5) Surrender or Die, 6) Pocket Watch 2, 7) Time Of Us, 8) No More, 9) Girls of Halloween, 10) Halloween Birthday.

My literary BACKGROUND: Always an avid reader, journalism courses led to newspaper editing and reporting. After 25+ years of a successful medical research and transcription career, physical problems forced a change. As a member of a local writers group, two short stories were published, and in the last few years, as an aspiring poet, several poems have been published.

The Aspiring Vocalist- Palindrome

He had an aspiration for greatness that could have turned into realized dreams;
he headed to New York City with shining booths and tight, faded blue-jeans.
" He's a real Texan cowboy! " someone shouted in the noisy athmosphere...
he accidentaly heard that with delight, and it sounded very pleasant to his ear;
he had a tremendous talent and he hated to waste it on Broadway's streets.
" He's a real Texan cowboy! " someone shouted in the noisy athmosphere...
he headed to New York City with shining booths and tight, faded blue-jeans;
he had an aspiration for greatness that could have turned into realized dreams.

Aspiring Inspiration

I aspire to be inspired
As much as
I am inspired to aspire

Aspiring For Wishes

Under cloudless sky
echo your dream, pour the wine
incantations to full moon
will be remembered,
as hopeful voice sings high, high
for chants of answered wishes

A Conversation Between Two Unscrupulous Aspiring Women

What’s she like?
Prickly like a spike.
But does she have Enthusiasm?
Oh yes, for shoes and men.
What about gratitude?
Well she has great **** nude.
I hear her face is tremendous?
Yes she says trees mend us,
And flowers are brilliant,
But Bees are really ants,
That’s odd, Should we conspire?
Yes let’s get a car for hire,
How shall we contribute?
I’ll make a devious route.
It seems Ambiguous,
Yes it could be a big mess,
But deliciously delightful,
What if the flight is full?
Oh that would be just disastrous.
we need to sit together to make a fuss
Should I dispute?
Well don’t be mute, but don’t over shoot.
I’m Suspicious.
You should be, she’s vicious
And Capricious,
She can’t be with us.
Too Unpredictable
Like a man under a table.
Oh she’s a rat and definitely a *****
But we must be firm friends until we are rich.

All answers affect aspirations
By belittling bygone barbarizations
Constantly criticizing correlations
Defined dumbfounded dictations
Edicts evaporate everyone's expectations
Foregone frustrations failed flirtations
Gone great grace giving generations
Harmonies have harmonious hesitations
Impotence influences indignations
Justified judicious justifications
Killing kaputz keratinizations
Living life lonely leaves lacerations
My muse motivated monumental mutations
Nonsense needed no normalizations
Offended overintellectualizations
Past promises purely placations
Questioning quarreling quotations
Resisting relevant restifications
Sentient solutions solve segregations
Total trust triumphs trepidations
Utopias undermined ultralizations
Viciousness visualized victimizations
Worthless weaponizations
Xenodochial xenophilications
Yawn Yuppifications
Zenith zealousness zendrifications

Unchanged Habits- the Aspiring Vocalist

UNCHANGED HABITS

Recently, I promised myself to make drastic changes;
again, I have fallen into yesterday's habits.
So unchanged they seem as my esteem:
they must be controlling my rebelling genes,
but making changes isn't for the better, I deem.
So unchanged they seem as my esteem;
again, I have fallen into yesterday's habits...
recently, I promised myself to make drastic changes.

THE ASPIRING VOCALIST

he headed to New York City wearing shining boots and tight, faded blue jeans,
" He's a real Texan cowboy! " someone shouted in the noisy athmosphere...
and he accidentally heard that with surprise and it sounded pleasant to his ear.
He had talent and was seeking a vocalist's job, singing on Broadway's streets.
" He's a real Texan cowboy! " someone shouted in the noisy athmosphere.

he had an aspiration for greatness that could have blossomed into realized dreams.

He went on the rap sheet as Shakespeare, Will
And in mitigation he simply said, ‘Nil.’
Male escorts earned plenty
He’d charge half of twenty
They nicknamed him ‘Ten Dollar Bill.’

To All Aspiring

The cold man,
the starving youth
walks the destroyed roads.
Through the fields of corpses
he scavenges the water
while wishing to fill
the withering cave inside.

The warm soul,
the hiding one,
moving through the solemn life.
Denying those who taunt her
she lives a troubled life
and all she really wants it to
tell the world her story

This is to all aspiring.

Premium Member The Aspiring Atman

In the dark alley of time my mind-body duality wanders
With the life stumbling on the hazards of blunders
The frailty of the unknown far-off future destined
Casts shadows of despair on my innate disposition.

I wish a glittering highway appear for me to escape
And I am able to carve for my life an egoistic shape
Configure the earthly elements of desire in essence
Chase the migrating mirage of mundane opulence.

In the entangled landscape of confused existence
I pursue the endless trail of unbound craving
Rambling in the sense wasteland of possession false
I am trapped in the sordid mire of mortal being.

Trying to get released from the captivating clasp
Of karmic destiny, leading to loss of the sense of self
The perception of divine conscience pervades me
I transcend the space-time limits for inward journey.

Detached from the transient life’s enmeshing web
I lose mind-body identity in the sanctum of psyche
Where time is lost in the timeless deep silence
I am then suffused with sublime Sattvaic bliss.

As my soul wishes to serenely unfurl the divine lotus
I perceive His graceful endowment of nirvana
Beautify my sublimated life with heavenly adornment
The absolute then assimilates the aspiring atman.
