A Conversation To Hear

"Franklin, why do you want such a fat, ugly bird?
Are you getting senile, or just being absurd?"

"Clearly, Mr. Adams, you are not being a friend.
My dove, not the turkey, will win in the end.

Though Franklin's turkey may be our most native bird,
your eagle, as well, will not be the final word.

A sign of Peace is what we need,
to show other nations of what we heed."

"Are you nuts, Thomas, for saying such?
Only my turkey can represent what we need so much!"

"Have both of you gone so daft in the head,
not to see that my eagle should be the one instead?

It has power and majesty that our nation new,
can be ascribed to the birds advocated by you.

We want Peace, but must remember this war,
so how can we petition a dove to complete this chore?

As for the turkey, I know the pride it shows,
but I just can't get over that thing on its nose.

So my Eagle is the one without a ruse,
and the best bird for the Congress to choose.

It can show our intent for Peace with an olive branch,
is native as the turkey, with a prideful stance.

Freedom will come and be represented by
my Eagle's unlimited flight in the sky.

Ever watchful for both Peace and War,
and without the turkey's nasal sore."

"We both know, Thomas, that Adams is correct.
His bird is beyond the circumspect."

"Yes, Franklin, I have always known
that my dove and your turkey would not have flown."

"Then are we agreed, gentlemen, that we three as one,
my Eagle is the bird that has hatched and won?"

Just thinking about this conversation made me weak,
especially when I had to give it a tweak.

But the Eagle has represented us well,
both in Peace and War, as history will tell.

I have obviously voted with Adams on his choice,
It has given our country a singular voice.

It is strong, majestic, and watchful to be sure,
and stood the test of time with great enure.

One more thing I'll say about the symbol we branded,
What would we have thought if Armstrong had said, " The Turkey has landed"?

You'Re Easy To Be Proud Of

You have grown to be such a man
yet, I cannot help but see the boy in you
you are my Son, who wears many uniforms
as your father, I cannot help but be Proud,

I see you march in the Orange and Black
your new horn, the one you have polished to a glow
every step you take, Orchestrated to perfection
with every note played, My pride, Crescendo

Then, you have worked hard, and Matured
a letter arrives, Office of the Governor, the Man himself
an invitation, Ambassadorship, a Musical one
Travel Europe, Summer next, Seven Countries

A Father, busting with pride, Why? I'll tell you!

Because, " Your Easy to be Proud of"

Yet as proud as I am, there is this other Uniform
the one you wear with Honor, Duty, Love of Country
the one with Medals, Braids and Epaulets
the one with a special pin, a hometown pin

Five Stars Golden, enveloped by Black and Orange
Tenne' a Chevron, a Chief, a Ring of Life
of the First Argent, A Scroll in Black
an inscription, " Classis Adhaereo Adstringo"

A Motto, In Latin, ascribed by the Navy
for Five hometown boys Lost in War
of how they lived and died " We Stick Together"
Albert,Francis,George,Joseph and Madison Sullivan

In that Uniform, I see the Man, not the boy
I cannot help but be caught, in solemn thought
This Man, with Anapolis in sight and mind
on this, the Eve of the 9/11 tragedy and War

That solemn thought reverts to Sacrifice
the Sullivan's sacrificed,9/11 over 3000 sacrificed
all did so,willingly or not, for Country, for God
I think you have foreseen Your Destiny, Your own

Josh, whatever Uniform you decide to wear,
whatever path, you may choose to walk
I'll always Love you, Be there for and with you
and be So Very Proud of You, Why? Because!

You're Easy to be Proud of!

I am s p a c e …
… and I owe indeed my existence from God
The Author of my breadth, depth, and height ---

With the Lord’s abundance…
I am bestowed with worthy meanings:
earthly residence, glorious habitation, celestial abode ---

Along the Almighty’s omnipotence…
my value becomes costly with ascribed phrases as
green pasture, even land flowing with milk and honey ---

Around the Saviour’s omnipresence…
emptiness can never creep in, while He vanquishes void
filling me with His wondrous magnificence ---

Upon the declaration of the supreme Sovereign…
I am under perfect control, supervised by His wisdom
cognizant that He “sitteth upon the circle of the earth”* ---

Midst the Master’s tender mercy and gracious miracles…
I am optimized with functional maximization
while with faith**, utilizers of my offers, trust God in their stewardship ---

While in the Providence timetable…
my moments are significant, especially when urgency attacks
via the impact of every hour, day and year I demand ---

I thank and praise my MAKER for enabling my being and becoming occupied…
Yes, I am s p a c e
Devoid of the CREATOR, I am n o t h i n g***.

She

She

A prison of love's enduring embrace
I taste her lips, I see her face
And span the gulf of space and time
to the Spring of Joy when she was mine.

The Thief of Time's measured grain of sand
Bound by Destiny's design and plan
Her path led her away from me
The one who will always remain...she

And now Winter's Wind claims dwindling days
My time ascribed on clouds and haze
And in my heart a love will always be
The one I love, that one is she.

I wrote this after reconnecting with my first love.....that spans 50 years

Premium Member Trophy of Words

Momentous meteor shower of words
Plethora of metered color absurd
Rainbows falling to the ground
With syllable shakes and bobo refrains
Lamentable lemon sunsets of pain

Our God stuns with just one sound

Err not, for he certainly beautifies
Wing’d articulation of butterflies
Enchanting chanting with wings
Whilst poet’s tongue sticks to roof of mouth
Or bathes in blather of love toward spouse

God’s glory the angels King

Our word counts we treasure and lock up tight
Iambic or free we type up all night
Impactful the sun and moon
God’s trophy ascribed sans paper and ink
Multitude of stars show’d off on the brink

In sacred immaculate swoon

Premium Member Now Those Were Poetry

Not certain that poetry
should be described as
much as written – I mean,
to write about a star,
is one thing...but to absorb
and likely radiate seems the
brighter reason for Light;

myself feeling that we are
better a-lined with creation
when less fanfare and greater
in the art of becoming – (no
poet writes poetry...but writes
in a way prompting the reader
to exclaim: Now that’s
poetry!)

I mean, does a rose
need read some other blossom
before its own singularity?

And surely a dramatic sky
and awe inspiring mountain
summit, knew how before
mixing pigments, counting grains,
measuring real-estate, then
estimating a proper footing –

other than for inspiration
needing no prior thought as
to what came first or if solid
foundations must be ascribed
before additions made –

accepting as fact, that we
are somehow all linked, and
each builds upon the surface of
a wondrous other…

thus poetry should
be simple, spontaneous…
which has nothing to do with
lack of complexity, or the long
and often tedious dedication
going into works –

I say only that poetry
should not be strained...
which is what happens
when lacking truth, and needing
excess filling or stretching if to
be recognized.

  Excluding
grand-dad’s fish tales – Now
those were

Awake

AWAKE!

Forebear I beg if I am found obtuse
Not turning from the indigent I see
Should I aver egregious a view
They be ascribed a sloth delirium

My comments here may seem not delicate
Yet if I choose travail to consecrate
Would you in intercession mediate
Bring those in need restored awakening

The Garden of Eden

In this Garden, Eve took on the omnipotent
knowing she lacks power to eat the forbidden fruit.

Her bite was great, as she tasted the fruit that
she offers to Adam, to do the same.

God told Adam to take his woman
out of his Garden.

Eden was unhappy this day.
God dominion was now forbidden.

Adam had bitten from the fruit as well.
Therefore, Adam was damned to a life of labor.

Ascribed to man, Eve was to be
the child bearer.

Life that you form man
must be supported.

Adam worked hard to raise Cain
and Abel.

This is guidance given.
This is meaningful to your living.

Man does not support his child life in the world
but states he is religious.

He hides from his obligations
or he does not work.

Therefore, a systematic problem evolves,
juvenile crime because of the lack of financial support.

God told Adam to take his woman out of his Garden.
He must work to take care of her and his babies.

He told him… “Adam your Garden must be your core.
This is your resting place; therefore, you will know the way of man.”

In the words of the Almighty, man must form his Garden
through holistic measures.

God told Adam to take care of home
since he loved his woman more than his core.

And, when Eve bares Adam’s children,
make sure he provides meaningful support.

Adam did.
Man today must.

This is the way to meaningful existence
and a holistic world.

Man is the strength.
Woman is the moral support.

Sending the tending to an unfriended ending,

The transformation from lofty pine to charred snag
Was softened somewhat by winter rains
And the feet of a thousand squirrels.
But the blackened outlines still pierced
An uncaring azure sky:
A bleached monument to the storm and lightening

Towards Maturity

Within my life much,
if not most of my time been spent
and as time makes no delay
I make haste for where my joy went.
I look back, so not forgotten
all the things that shaped me so,
try to make most of the present
but the future its fruits to show.

I guess I could complain
but then who's ascribed the blame?
surely I had to decide
where to go from where I came.
I've not always done whats best
but refute any regret,
looking forward to what may
cross my path and still be met.

Many questions still to be,
many answer's still unsought
but in all uncertainty,
only hope my eye has caught.
Since I am not the worst off
nor even close to best,
I am not closest to failing
and much further can I press.
seeking way to better me
and to live my life in truth
I now put my trust in God
who has known me b'fore youth.

The Goodness of God

The Goodness of God

God is a good God.
He’s the provider of a righteous way.
Omnipotence of power - a magnificent display …
To instill insight and define a pathway where he ascribed his Apostles to
     provide the guidance of today.

The Lord is the keeper of my belief and faith.
He tells me a mountain is to climb once made.

God is a good God where he’s the animal in the jungle of mankind's
     wicked ways.
He will defeat Satan from stealing the glory made.
All-powerfulness embrace the demons gave where he removes this from
the body and the soul is saved.

The Lord is the seeker of my belief and faith.
He is sentient to my spirit and unburdens me each day.

God is a good God.
I worship him daily.
He is my soul fulfiller, my spirit made.

For Quincy Mac

Like a missile I endeavor to send out these ill words that meet,
Skilled while the earth is grounded to my feet,
Onset I blend together sweet sounds using the alphabet,
No regrets what so ever, a gift for you from this clever creative acrobatic etymologist,
A linguist with retrospect, on track Quincy Mac ascends to attack,
All about one hundred percent, maxed out,
Inspired by other poet’s styles, the fire is felt by what they state,
The lines they create into verses, it’s what they invent and represent,
These Wordsmiths that calculate endless words for you to hopefully comprehend,
Bending thoughts that surely stimulate what’s in your head,
Unless the brain has no intelligence and poorly sends useless content,
Cognitive dissonance, a human flaw that will try to defend because of ignorance,
This prevents the minds performance,
So train! With genuine intent and insure well designed maintenance,
This will make a difference to your success,
So digest this and envision your future accomplishments,
These are not divine commandments,
Just basic insight sent,
Not to offend,
But rather for the women and men that see,
Including me,
That want to have a mind that’s free,
Because there’s so much brain washing from this worlds debris,
Yes indeed from what we watch, hear and read,
So we need positive vibes,
Well thought out and ascribed,
So forget about unpleasant failure and how hard you tried,
Respect that’s the past and no part of the present,
So be incessant and pack knowledge that stays mentally intact,
And those that are reading this…… this is mainly for Quincy Mac,

Peace!
