Best Ark Poems
God told old Noah to build an ark,
To make it out of gopher bark.
Noah did as he was asked,
And worked until he completed the task.
Then God told Noah to gather the beasts,
Two of every kind, the hes and the shes,
So that when the earth is dry again,
They can procreate, new life begin.
All the animals were good, except for the rabbits.
Though small and cute, they had some bad habits.
Quiet and stealthy, they would roam around,
Hiding in dark corners where they weren't easily found.
You might be wondering how bunnies could be bad,
But you need to remember the reputation they have.
Hiding in the shadows, what do you think they're doing?
They're not playing hop scotch - they're cuddling and wooing.
Now cuddling and wooing isn't such a bad thing,
But rabbits are known for quickly multiplying.
Though Noah tried to keep the bunnies apart,
He was no match for their affairs of the heart.
So when it came time, the ark to depart,
The animals came out two by two like the start.
Two by two they strolled off the ark,
After being cooped up, getting out was a lark.
But then came the rabbits and to Noah's dismay,
Not two but hundreds were coming his way.
Then the Lord told them all to be fruitful and multiply.
Noah looked at the rabbits and let out a sigh.

Entered in PD's 101 in a row contest #5
Noah heard the forecast and realised he must build an ark
It had to be impermeable for when they finally disembark.
They faced forty days and forty nights of torrential precipitation
Thank goodness Noah was constructing the ark for this situation
To invigorate Noah he could see the storm clouds were gathering
He knew that they must work quickly or they would get a battering
The requisite was it must be huge to hold animals and his family
When animals boarded two by two, it was a spectacular sight to see
When they reached dry land they were met with falling snow
Snow is formed by crystallization in case you didn’t know!
Water is essential to our daily life, we need it for our hydration
It is sent to us from heaven above – thank God for precipitation!

Noah you must build a vessel 300 cubits long, 50 wide, 30 high and it must be strong
It must carry a roof three stories high, finished to a cubit upward with entrance on the long.
Use only Gopher wood that is smeared both inside and out with pitch
Then take your family and every animal that I might destroy this world in which:
Evil must be cleansed by a flood of Heavenly destruction
Ye shall perish too, if not great care, taken in construction
Pay particlar attention to each of my animals aboard
For like me, you are their Salvation and I in turn, your Lord
Noah, I command you Rise! Go! Collect the tools you will need
For there only remains 300 years to completion of this deed
Tend to every last animal no matter how large or small
For I am the Lord, thy God who created and love them all.
Mark Clarke was the gentlest man of Denmark
Yet considered by all a most unlikely patriarch
He was proud being Noah’s apprentice on the ark
Mark was in charge of ensuring all the animals did embark
Two by two in harmony, elephant, giraffe, tiger, and aardvark
Shared the gameplan with the many types of whale and shark
Ensured every bird was onboard, especially the skylark
Mark’s wondrous inventory was classified by icon and footmark
And sometimes in the margin he would jot a special remark
Hoping no one would notice he found neither unicorn nor snark
For weeks torrential rains made the sky darkest dark
They prayed for the rainbow, that long-awaited coloured arc
When the rains finally subsided they looked for the closest park
Everyone had cabin fever and were ecstatic to disembark
Rowdiness of meow, oink, purr, caw, growl, snarl and bark
Plans were soon ongoing to celebrate with a feisty spark
Evaluating the damage up and down and all around Hark!
Mark said Yeah, that’s gonna leave quite a watermark

Lousy cruise is finally over.
We didn't visit a single freakin' island.
Should have gone Peak Season.

Here come the lions, tigers and bears, oh, my.
I get closer to my mate, feeling we’ll die.
What was this family thinking? Was he sick in the head?
Why was his wife walking around, no fear of being dead?
My mate smiled at me. It is more than okay, he said.
I have a good feeling that we’ll be safe and well fed.
We were in this creaky leaky thing for many cycles of the moon
And the lions, tigers, and bears all stayed on their side of the room.
There was a magical feeling about these days, for sure.
Every animal was quiet, silent, in awe, feeling pure.
The birds fluttered around and twitted and twilled.
This boat ride was a mission by God, fully filled.
We were in shock when we landed one day with a bump
All exited without a maiming or killing, no one did jump.
The oddest most cosmic time in the world, if you ask me
When all animals were quiet, and let others be.

[Intro]
Now is the time
awake to shine —
above and below together !
separation’s in smithereens
sky an expanse filled with dreams
no more distortions beaming
towers toppling, new earth asking
truth no masking —
[Verse 1]
Go into sanctuaries
solitude in limitless dark
building safe arks
inner strength uncrackled
virgin life unbuckled
[Pre-Chorus]
You are here touching
astral stroking
hush hushing
[Chorus]
We are our own sanctuaries
lies with hypocrisies no odyssey
let them walk skew paths
we make our own ark
[Verse 2]
Plumed serpents we moulted
watching for those who came
sanctified by our suffering
in darkness we were buffering
[Chorus]
We are our own sanctuaries
lies with hypocrisies no odyssey
let them walk skew paths
we make our own ark
[Bridge]
Over aeons we served the All
missions without constrictions
guided by seven rays alluding
now we are concluding
[Interlude]
Into sanctuaries we go
hush hushing
towers are toppling
solitude in limitless dark
coupling, no hustling
[Chorus]
We are our own sanctuaries
lies with hypocrisies no odyssey
let them walk skew paths
we make our own ark —-

Build an ark out of gopher wood that’s what I want from you.
Noah said he would to God and he and his sons set out to do.
Take two of all the animals of the unclean variety
But seven of the clean kind, are you listening Noah to me?
Yes lord I hear you, and I will do your Will.
Can you tell me how long before, the water the earth will fill?
Build the ark now Noah, and do not question me
You have a huge task ahead, and I will save your family.
The ark now built, the pitch spread, the unclean animals passed two by two
The pigs the camels and unclean ones, for food I do not give to you.
As for the clean ones, take seven of each I say
And then there will be food for you, when you leave the ark one day.
But what about the unicorn God, they are so hard to find?
I am afraid then Noah, said God, that he must be left behind.
If we find another though, is it a beast unclean or clean
Would we need seven or two, I am not sure what you mean?
If you find another one Noah, the rains I will keep away
Because I am now telling you. the last one has flown today
Oh my Lord why is that, the unicorn is so fine
Yes, said God to Noah, and that’s why he is mine.

Ark of the Covenant contained three items
According to St. Paul
Word of God, manna, & the Rod of Aaron that re-sprouted.
In the beginning of the world
After creation has been told
Noah’s story became unfold
Precious as gold, precious as gold
God told Noah to build an ark
Since people sinned and chose the dark
This earth be washed leaving no mark
As rain will park, as rain will park
He went in with his family
Got animals in pairs only
Birds by twos- obeying gladly
Saved lovingly, saved lovingly
Flood rose higher than the mountain
Far beyond hundred days when drained
Out of the ark, they ain't in vain
New life again, new life again

(This is also a try of a new form)
Ark sailing on water surface
Bigger, larger than Titanic's face
All aboard are devouts of race
Racing for the holy shroud of ace
Ace of holiness and grace
Sent with Almighty's trace
Symbol of faith, not craze
Ark of the faithful of maze
God asked Noah to build an ark
he was happy to oblige
but he wasn't so keen
when he found out
what had to go inside
Two of every animal
then you must set sail
the animals were fearful
the whale began to wail
Even the Gnu knew
this idea would surely falter
but every beast preferred this idea
than being led by nose to slaughter
Noah followed the order
from gnat to lion to horse
this was a recipe for Pandamonium
but Noah knew this of course
Seating plans were issued
but an almighty row took place
The lion the king of the jungle
argued that he was a special case
The Queen Bee wanted second billing
while the Emperor penguin demanded a throne
while the homing pigeon panicked
at not being able to find his way home
Nightime was the worst
sleep was beyond them all
with the woodpecker continually pecking
and the gloworm lighting up the hall
The doves tried to keep the peace
as all hell broke loose
while bets were taken on who had the longest face
the horse, anteater or moose
The pandas tried to be romantic
sleep deprivation made their eyes go black
the magpies kept stealing the others duvets
and the squirrels were nuts to turn back
The elephants said they'd never forget
and they wished they packed more in their trunk
while the terrible smell that stunk out the place
was eventually blamed on the skunk
The bears awoke with sore heads
they had drunk all their supplies in one night
while the hyenas found it hilarious
at their next door neighbours plight
The crows shouted blue murder
but the bats were blind to it all
the ravens were ignored by the masses
as all they said was 'never more'
The maggots agreed it was just rotten luck
to be stuck in this mobile zoo
and every time the peacock showed his feathers
it made the pigeones coo
The badgers were set in their ways
the sheep said their wool was a curse
while the spiders got a verbal warning
for using a sows ear to weave up a purse
Finally they found dry land
the hare raced out in the lead
while the tortoise said there was more to life
than doing everything at top speed
Noah was happy that the journey had ended
and this was the end of the road
but at least one species had enjoyed the trip
the rabbit population had increased ten fold!
Whenever they travelled in front
The Ark Of Covenant did confront
The kept it well lit
And that was just fit
Only some to God could talk'd affront.

Now Noah and his fam'ly stood
Beside an ark of gopher wood
The'd builded for a century
And all the creatures (not a few)
Began to come in pairs of two
And slowly made their entry
A pair of fiery dragons came
And Noah had to keep them tame
To keep the fire in
But once a day they came unglued
So Noah's wife, she cooked their food
In pans of hammered tin
Now here's a thing that's really neat
These dragons slept at Noah's feet
All through those rainy catfights
When Noah donned his socks of brown
And went to shush the critters down
He took his pair of nightlights!
Two fleas are jumpig
Onboard of Noah’s Ark
For warm nest looking.
Two fleas are dreaming
Onboard of Noah’s Ark
A warm nest enjoying.
Two fleas are arriving
Onboard of Noah’s Ark
At Ararat’s mountain.
Their trip is ending
Onboard of Noah’s Ark
And starts a novel jumping
