Best Aking Poems
Having the ability to reason as we manipulate our environment,
Understanding right from wrong, at least to some degree, and
Making decisions that affect others' lives for good or for worse
Are the largest part of what separates man from beast.
No other being on this earth
Is as progressive. . . nor as destructive to the planet,
Yet that which defines also sadly seems to doom us.

With Bated Breath
With bated breath I wait to see your glowing face
In the evening skies when you arise
Taking my breath away with your beauty.
How I await to view your glowing silver orb.
Beauty and enchantment of your illumination
Are a lover's romantic delight tonight as
Twilight deepens into indigo skies you
Elate my senses as you mesmerize in
Darkened skies where you rule the seas.
Breaking waves upon the sands provide
Rapturous tunes that envy you, majestic moon
Ever playing hide and seek with clouds
Above as you slowly ascend, wooing lovers in your
Transit across the sparkling star studded skies as
Hearts are captured with-in your magic spell.

Fell from the heavens to blanket
The cold hard ground
The steel and concrete are
Soaked, like pillows, from the rain.
Like the flower girl before
The procession who spreads
The warmth with her fingertips,
Something, someone dawned on me
The truth.
And slowly, my heart unthawed.
It was no longer callous,
No longer cold.
I thank the messenger,
An angel of sorts,
Who injected her wisdom
Into my shriveled veins.
And brought back
The dying hope
In what I was living for.
Sa aking mahal na bituin. (Filipino)

MY SPIRIT SINGS
Almond eyes speak: "Take me home please--
bonnie green fields where I may wander,
chasing butterflies and darting dragonflies
dearly gazing to blue and orange streak skies.
Everyday, I will find some daffodils
fixing and tucking one to my ear,
grin painted on my face as I look
hungrily to praise and thank you, God!
Interred two years ago by mistake,
justice and joy, I yearn to feel,
kneeling everyday, praying unto God:
"Listen to me O tender God and don't leave"
Merciful Father heard, He blessed me saying:
"Now Son, be fruitful and multiply", I amble--
obedient me to sunny walks down winding roads,
persistent to bear the given loads,
quicker to maneuver from danger's path,
reflexive instincts working double time!
Seeking God's wisdom to always guide me,
taking time to read the Bible everyday,
understanding: "Man shall not live on bread alone...
Vexed and pressed by a truckload of trials but
whom shall I fear when God is my light and salvation.
Xenacious I, excited, wanting to do it in an instant!
Yes Lord! Yes Lord! Yes! Yes, Lord, Amen.
Zealous is my heart and spirit as I sing!

T aking a revered bow, I convey my Gratitude
H IS grandeur, blessed are we together or in solitude
A ll days HE is omnipresent, bestowing Bliss
N ailing the sinners, hailing pious with peace
K eeping the equilibrium between Good and Evil
S ilently guiding Soul to see HIM piercing ignorance's veil
G oing rarely berserk with Natural Calamity
I ndicating HIS Orders are breached with impunity
V ery benevolently sharing HIS treasure
I n joy and sorrow always there to share
N ever ignoring prayers when need arises
G ranting wish when spiritually one rises
D evotion to HIM, Soul liberates for all times

Y elp one may, HIS way remain same for ALL, at ALL times

Ravaged and forgotten, I await my fate in this junkyard,
Under the fierce sun and pouring rain and snow . . . but,
Still within this rusted frame beats a soul and memories, and
There was a time when I was truly loved-
Every person admired my style and curves and my brilliance,
Death, oh d e a t h and old age is a terrible thing.
Memories are all I have as weeds and vines devour,
Even now, I can still feel the soft cloth that caressed,
Making sure my paint shined like glass . . . and,
On long rolling highways and hills, I glided a thing of beauty-
Roaring along without a care in the world (I was young)
Inside my interior was impeccable and my leather so soft
Eternity was mine- I was going to exist forever, but
Silently, the rust began and soon ruined and scarred my beauty.
Days passed and then one day, I was towed to this lonely place,
Eternity seems like not such a good idea now . . .
Chirping from within me where a little song bird has made a nest,
And windflowers and yellow dandelions keep me company.
Years have passed and more and more cars lay ravaged,
Inside my soul memories stir of happy times-
Now my windows have grown blank as dead eyes, and all the
Gnarled and twisted, rusting cars (once loved) wait . . . d e c a y i n g.

Merry Christmas from me to you! I hope all your Christmas dreams come true!
This is what it means to feel Christmas in the heart, to know Christmas as the hope, to see Christmas in a world who longs to find the peace that comes from His birth! – quote by poet
Come into the light,
Hear the joy of heaven,
Reassuring the heart,
Inspiring love and hope,
Saving souls from misery,
Taking away all uncertainty,
Mesmerizing with belief,
Amazing souls who find peace
Silencing the darkest grief

Jesus is my everything
Joy fills my heart and soul
Enduring peace within
Sweet sense of gentleness
Unending reassurance
Surrendering to His love.
Inner hopes that sustain
Sending up honest prayers
Making me realize my needs
Yet, stilling my worst anxieties
Everlasting faith fills me
Visualizing my dreams
Enlightenment on the inside
Reassures me of promises
Yes! His love sustains me
Taking me to new heights
Healing my fears and failure
Instructing me in wisdom
Newly awakened desires
God creates my paradise
