Notes About The Poem

With Bated Breath

With Bated Breath

With bated breath I wait to see your glowing face
In the evening skies when you arise
Taking my breath away with your beauty.
How I await to view your glowing silver orb.

Beauty and enchantment of your illumination
Are a lover's romantic delight tonight as
Twilight deepens into indigo skies you
Elate my senses as you mesmerize in
Darkened skies where you rule the seas.

Breaking waves upon the sands provide
Rapturous tunes that envy you, majestic moon
Ever playing hide and seek with clouds
Above as you slowly ascend, wooing lovers in your
Transit across the sparkling star studded skies as
Hearts are captured with-in your magic spell.

What an awesome description of the moon rising through star-studded skies. And it seems the moon is a romantic symbol in many cultures. A stunning acrostic, Connie. Big congrats on your top win! Hugs, Carolyn

Spellbinding poetry! Absolutely beautiful imagery oozing with a passion that is divinely expressed towards one of your favorite topics. You were born a moon lover meant to share that passion so it never be overlooked or because someone's moon feelings need your words to prompt their own articulation. How great a blessing it would be to have a book collection of all your moon themed writes, how cool would that be? Love you ... CayCay

Nice acrostic! My poetry teacher - Anna Rabinowitz wrote a book length acrostic which spells out "The Darkling Thrush" by Thomas Hardy. The book is called "Darkling". Peace & Love Matthew Anish

Hi Connie, The moon mesmerizes all of us and certainly me! Love the line 'ever playing hide and seek with clouds' and the last line 'Hearts are captured with-in your magic spell. The moon is mysterious - how beautiful to sit and watch the sky with the moon and stars, and watch the waves lapping on the shore - I wonder how many romantic marriage proposals the moon has watched and smiles back! A wonderful poem dear Connie. Best wishes for the contest, Hugs, Jennifer.
