Premium Member Once Is Enough

Oh for pity's sake put some clothes on,
the bracing air will steal your breath..
and I need you to stand and stay strong.

Cold comfort thrills from your chill touch
help me recall why I adore you so...

A chin of the ages rests on my shoulder in sweet affection,
two arms encircle my world in every direction.

Redtail hawk riding a thermal looks down..
what caught its gaze I wonder..

Will the day lend a hand through a pestering cloud,
or roll its eyes in thunder?

Such a fine firebrand you've stoked,
as I shave my face and call your bluff.,

Wishing the once would last forever..
though once was more than enough.

His sun falls across my bare shoulders
Seeking a tender thought
Breathing light along the hopes
That gentle my mind and my heart

His moon pours a wispy affection
Across the music of my soul
Coloring me in hues of acceptance
Simple joy to my sight

His stars reflect all the shimmer
Beyond the seas and waves
Where azure laughter sinks deeper
Than the silence that fascinates

His voice caresses my spirit
With faith flowing in my veins
Creating crimson whispers
Bright as the fire’s flames

His vision keeps me focused
On kindness that soothes and sustains
Capturing the dreams of forever
Inside the blazing firefly dance

His grace cascades like a waterfall
Gushing with gladness and peace
Arousing soft feelings of pleasure
Grown famous by the unending mercy

His inspiration nourishes my soul
In angel’s hymns that raise my thoughts
Of joy, peace and sacred prayers
Sweet sighs of faith painting warm praises

His light guides me through the storms
Lifting the shadows that might harm
Giving my mind a chance to grow strong
With the rays of love falling from His spirit

His is a love that knows no bounds
He sends it down from the highest heavens
Illuminating and reflecting all the joy
Caught up in the soul who knows His worth

His is a grace that appeals to the senses
Guides hearts from the worst
And reveals the truth about giving unconditionally
From a heart who knows that love is the greatest gift

Lift your eyes to the highest stars
See the moon, the glow of heaven’s hope
Whispering insight through your thoughts
And know that love is alive on the inside

Premium Member Affection In Motion

Its universe drapes time in buoyancy
Where endless space binds law of attraction
Atoms merging, clasped by human light
An energy wheeling freely, unseen;
‘Til moonlight climbs inside lovers’ halo.

Exploring their path, frenzy unlike space
Through quantum leaps weightless among new stars
Ascending on scales of breaths without measure,
Like passion heating a current; two mouths press.

Dazed by such fusion, wheel of Physics nods
To bring glow, showing what it's always known
Soul's beauty, radiating love unbound;
As dusk explodes to bless fluid motion.

With gentle fire, night sky dare not question
A universe lost in a trance of love’s spark;
There is no logic to explain, when
Affection blends cosmos of a kiss.

                  -------------------

"Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people
falling in love. How on earth can you explain
in terms of chemistry and physics so important
a biological phenomenon as first love?
Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems
like an hour. Sit with that special girl for an hour
and it seems like a minute. That's relativity.”

Unrequited Affection

When often thinking of times past
In accordance to her own place
She recalled a heart broken young woman
With longing her pain to erase

Guys grow fond of her demeanor
Going so far as to follow her around
Yet without a doubt she controls her heart
And departs them safe and sound

She never strays from her values and ways
From actions she continues to refrain
And when boys spend time in her company
For her, it is merely to entertain

Childish ways once embedded naturally
Inside her innocent mind
Have soon dissipated into the land of dreams
And reality she’s come to find

So many times she’s feared the day
When one young soul she shall meet
He’ll speak foreign truth she’s never heard
And sweep her off her feet

Hesitant to become transparent
She often hid her anticipation
And did so well for the initial encounters
Although with great frustration

No one seemed to understand her like this one
For in such a short amount of time
She questioned what her motives were
As her affection seemed to climb

Attempts to stray from him failed miserably
And in fact seemed to attract her more so
Each departure she vowed was the last
Yet her endearment continued to grow

Left in a quandary
She allows him to speak his peace
She soon understands his wishes for them
Are from each other to release

Now, rational a thinker she may be
She desires his wishes as well
But something leads her to believe
They both know this attempt will fail

She’s scared to read too much into this
In fear that feelings are unrequited
For only God can deem what’s to be true
And who shall be united

So, idly she and her soul await
For sign of returned desire
Yet, until that day she will attempt no more
And to her chambers simply retire

A P.Ublic D.Isplay of Affection

My challenge was not issued there! My challenge was issued here!
Which was why you threw me off, when, first, you ran in fear.
You, who had the reputation of being the best to play this game,
"destroying" all of your challengers, while gathering all of the fame.
But, maybe all of that fame went too quickly to your head,
As your audience ate up ev'ry word that you had said.
Respect for your battle skills was immediately reserved,
But, now, I have to wonder was all that respect really deserved.
As I stated in my "ODE," this is a game of speed and wits,
Where the strong throw all the punches, and the weak take all the hits;
Where a real poet accepts a challenge, no matter how many dare,
And is always ready to battle anyone, any TIME, ANYWHERE!
The last point, that I just made, is the one that you should read,
Giving it all of the attention, that it really needs.
I decided to step up, but you decided to run and hide.
I guess hiding is much easier, than swallowing your pride.
Ev'ry request that I made to battle was met with an excuse,
Which made me think that you were really trying to dodge all of my abuse.
Are you afraid to get embarrassed, or of losing all the fans,
After proving that you are unable to meet all of my demands.
If so, then you "officially" forfeit your claim to greatness,
Because any such claim, to me, would be considered weightless!
The number one spot is "officially" up for grabs,
So, now, the scientific minds are working in their labs.
"THE DOZENS" is the name of the game that we will play,
So, if you do not have the balls, then please stay out of the way!
But, if you do decide to play, accepting the fact that you just might get pinched,
Make sure you come alone, leaving your "boyfriend" on the bench.
I entertain the crowd, but from the crowd is who you run.
Therefore, your reign at the top is "officially" done!
Now, to more "worthy" opponents my focus has been shifted.
So, turn in your little crown, since you are obviously done with it!

A Poet , a Lover

You came into my life like a storm
And I floated away with hope
Words come out of your mouth like lava
Sometimes I get lost in the flow
As new life is given out in spring
You poured joy into my heart
You gave me love and affection
I dreamt you kissed me
And left poetry on my lips
Time created questions
But days meant forever
My mirror reflects our future
In your eyes, there was my smile
Something I've been longing
Your words sing a song of love
As my heart dances to it
And I keep your name to my heart

Expressions of Affection

Wrapping your loving arms around
somebody whom you love with passion....
is an expression of affection,
and no one expects a reward!

Only God gives love freely...
to demonstrate how intense is kindness;
and we ought to give it kindly,
not shying away from mindfulness!

Giving more than you have to someone
who needs comforting words...
is surely an expression of affection,
and deeper understanding without recompense!

Our struggles may cause us to worry,
leaving behind unpleasant reminders...
that we never learn from errors
and continue to act improperly?

Smiling widely and honestly
is the truest expression of affection,
welcomed as the most genuine intention;
why can't we all love sincerely?

This life is none than a short jeourney,
fulfilling what's called destiny;
lives are glorified by their deeds,
but also destroyed by insidious influences!

Coming to the rescue of your closest friends,
who seem troubled by hardships or pain,
helps them find hope when they only had tears;
stand by them with that expression of affection!

Affection With Rapt

Enthralled am I in my deep mind,
a love like yours, so hard to find-
I’ve relinquished all that sad woe,
once I found it hard to let go,
but those days are so far behind.

Immersed in your strength I’m confined
we’re beauty and passion combined,
spellbound with magic, we shall grow-
Enthralled am I.

Absorbed with spirit I’m inclined
engaged in desire, we’re entwined-
So fascinated, this I know,
with affection our love shall glow,
so in love, you’re one of a kind-
Enthralled am I.

Premium Member Affection of Older Autumn

It is late September again,
  effervescent, fair---much like
the first touch of air-brushed flame
 seizing an ardor glazed by
an ever- changing pastel light…
 we are still here,
 on autumnal view's entrance
breathing sweet ambrosia
from life's harvest...perhaps older
as grey marbles collected through
fables of silence together : our weary
bodies are held by endless glow past mid-life,
recalling youth's blazed affection
while evening fog embraces us,
through a tender contentment
of devotion's soft kisses.

Affection

The Business of affection

When you couple fall in love
and the love is broken and
not following its natural course
to fulfilment and a union of hearts
that sings from the same musical
sheets of harmony
The one left alone will feel a pain
that is physical in it intensity
no one night stand fuelled by alcohol
can assuage a hearts loneliness
In time the person will fall in love again
and again and leave behind
broken marriages should he be a man
we call him a Casanova and if it is
a woman she is feisty.
But they are lonely people trying to find
back to the feeling of the first love

Starved For Affection

Affection appears in many different ways..
A caress..
A warm embrace...
A kiss..
Holding hands..
Arms wrapped around one's shoulder..
Loving warm smile..
Distributing unconditional love..

Starved for affection I am..
Child I was..
Abundance of food existed..
Lack of affection existed..
As I hungered for affection..
Unwanted I felt..
Lost in my own reality..
Feeling unloved..

A caress
Warm embraces..
Kisses..
Holding hands..
Was indeed many of my fantasies..
Day dreams often flowed..

From childhood..
To adulthood..
Starvation of affection it was..
Wholeness I only imagined..
Since lack of wholeness there was..

It was a lovely hot summer's day..
Scorching hot sun..
With a gentle breeze..
I was walking on the beach..
The hot sand covering my toes..
Feeling the grittiness of the sand..
Upon both my feet..
A man..
Handsome ..
Accompanied by an amazing, loving, warm, genuine, smile..
Approaches me..
The rest is history..

Starved for affection ..
No more..
As I have found the love of my life..
A lifetime of embraces we will have..

Now I have a beautiful child..
My child..
Shall always receive an abundance of affection..
No limitations apply ..

Premium Member He Won My Affection

Menachem Begin, for 28 years sat on Parliament's back bench
Israeli pundits confident he had dug himself a deep trench

He shocked the world in '76 when his party won the election
Said grace in public and kissed the Torah; won my undying affection

Notes: . A Parliament back-bencher is a member of the opposition party
. 'Grace' refers to grace over meals, both before and after eating

Trifle

I ask this of you
Never to trifle with my affections
My precious little heart can't hold it
For a caprice it's not built
It's banks are full to the brim
and the walls are but weak
Please do not break my little heart
There's not even one unscrupulous bone in me
If you do not fancy me, let me be gone

Unforgettable Moments

That night was the last and longest we ever had
That day was the shortest, simplest and most sad
That drop was a dryer
And the smile was a goodbye

Premium Member The Kiss

It’s a whisper of tenderness
Expressed by the lips
Of one who has intentions
Of giving a piece
Of themselves

It’s a touch of heartfelt joy
Given by a true love
Who knows that you need
To sense what is there
Beneath the touch

It’s a compassionate moment
Sent through the stroke
Of gentle lips joining
To prove there is a point
To giving from within

It’s a gift sent from heaven
Inspired by God’s love
For those who know love is
The sense of wonder that is
Forever a guiding force

It’s a grace and a mercy
A sigh of true faith
From one to another
Built on kindness
Sent by praise

It’s an intimate disclosure
A confession from the heart
That tells the beloved
Their love is filled with
Joy, hope and acceptance

It’s a sweet inspiration
Sent on love’s wings
Meant to heal the spirit
With admissions of charm
the truth is the kiss is alive
