The Kiss
It’s a whisper of tenderness
Expressed by the lips
Of one who has intentions
Of giving a piece
Of themselves
It’s a touch of heartfelt joy
Given by a true love
Who knows that you need
To sense what is there
Beneath the touch
It’s a compassionate moment
Sent through the stroke
Of gentle lips joining
To prove there is a point
To giving from within
It’s a gift sent from heaven
Inspired by God’s love
For those who know love is
The sense of wonder that is
Forever a guiding force
It’s a grace and a mercy
A sigh of true faith
From one to another
Built on kindness
Sent by praise
It’s an intimate disclosure
A confession from the heart
That tells the beloved
Their love is filled with
Joy, hope and acceptance
It’s a sweet inspiration
Sent on love’s wings
Meant to heal the spirit
With admissions of charm
the truth is the kiss is alive
