Actions Speak Louder Than Words

A kind word, of course,
Can soothe the flustered soul or bring a smile
To a frowning face. That’s a given, but
In one’s troubled times, words still are
Only words.
Naked they become, for we see right through them when
Sincerity is misspoken and devoid of thoughtful deed.

Simple gestures are more meaningful than pretty words.
Persuasive poets perhaps pen verses to their beloved
Elegant and extravagant like pearls. Empty all the same
Are artful words given in pretense or with thought of recompense.
Kindness for me is found in action!

Lovers - real and honest lovers - are
Obliging, and they are more than kind!
Unabashedly they step in to defend those whom they hold dear.
During good times and bad, they will be there,
Enduring every hardship by their lover’s side,
Relinquishing their own needs for the needs of their adored.

Thank God if such a man or woman
Has ever graced your life.
Actions of their ardor
Never should be taken for granted.

Words can be loud with promises,
Overflowing also with
Romance! But only a fool would
Deny that one's exhibition of love is
So much the sweeter!

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Actions versus words
Actions speak louder
Louder is figurative
Louder is expressive
Figurative language is effective
Figurative does not truly speak
Effective is deeply important
Effective is walking the talk
Important lessons must be demonstrated
Important lessons show you don’t tell you
Demonstrated lessons are shown like an exhibit
Demonstrated lessons than may be emulated
Exhibits can be observed
Exhibits are seen not heard
Observed actions are watched
Observed actions trump words
Watched love is full of verbs
Watched love shows it is an action word
Verbs are action words
Verbs help one’s mind create mental pictures
Words alone are soon forgotten
Words are remembered when taught with an action
Mental pictures formed in one’s brain
Mental pictures are recalled simpler than jargon
Brain stores memories
Brain loses words
Memories are potent tools
Memories recall meaning
Tools seen in use is vital
Tools talked about remain idle
Vital is performance
Vital is activity
Performance is an execution
Performance is a rendition
Execution creates stimuli
Execution shows not tells
Stimuli create neuron connections
Stimuli causes better recall
Connections boost like a catalyst
Connections fuel memory
Catalyst spark visuals
Catalyst evoke images
Visual aids are useful to teachers
Visual images are appealingly vivid
Teachers must display good character
Teachers may not just define it
Character is taught by example
Character in not lexically learned
Example set is learned in action ~
Example cannot be set with words

To Ciara: Rules For Loving

TO CIARA: RULES FOR LOVING

Little dark haired one, don’t fall
for the first boy to give you attention
or pay you a compliment. Don’t fall
for the first boy who says he is
			‘the leader of a hundred men’;
			there are many false messiahs.

Ciara, don’t fall for the first boy
who sings you love songs or writes
poems for you, you will know
the truth by the undertones; follow
your instincts, they are there to guide.
			Don’t fall for silver-tipped words.

Irish jewel, jade of the Isles, don’t fall
for the first boy to make promises,
			actions speak louder than words.
Your autonomy is a gift but when
			disenchanted it becomes a wall,
			a curse. Don’t fall. Don’t fall.

Don’t fall, innocent girl, for the first
boy to bring you shiny things, a far
			greater beauty shines in you,
			a power unaware. Value kindness
over the things people call precious.
Keep your enthusiasm in high regard.

O, Ciara, whose name is whispered
			across mountain valleys, don’t fall
for the first boy who brings you flowers
on the first date. Don’t fall for the first
			boy to show you his rose tattoo;
			please don’t fall for him…

Oh, sweet woman of a thousand names
			respect yourself enough to trust
yourself enough to let go of the rope
and fall for the one who writes the melody
for the song in your heart… fall for the one
who knows the geography of your soul
because they are his maps, too… fall for
the one who speaks the language of trees…
fall for the first boy who brings flowers everyday
and grows gardens in your eyes.
But, Ciara, at least once in your life
fall… for a heart that has not loved
fully is a rose that never blooms.

NOTE: the real Ciara who inspired this poem has gone on to become Miss Canada 2017.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Actions Speak Louder Than Words One grows fond of all the involvement one has with society To what end do we extend those words of forgiveness said so easily You spend all those days and weekends With those they say they are your friends Those that say they will watch your back to the end Then that day comes and they pretend They don’t know you; … those friends Are not no more, they offend They will hurt you and stir your anger They say absence makes the heart grow founder Is not always the answer People inspire you, or they drain you and make you bitter Reality is… we were friends for never I can’t take this no more so I’ll kiss them good-bye forever They were not worth my time and worry so l’ll arrange to stay away Stay away Stay away Forever I don’t need you as friends if you can’t take me as I am and Have my back at the end 11/6/2015

If I tell you that I love you

If I tell you that I love you,
do you think you could believe it?
Actions speak louder than words
so I know you have to see it.

When you stare into my eyes so deep,
I'm at a loss for words and my knees go weak.
I get the butterflies and pitter patter.
I wonder if you care or does it even matter?

My love for you runs deep you see.
I want to take it there with you so you become a part of me.
They always say two is better than one.
Can you compare to that or are you just having fun?

I want to wake up in your arms and be the start of your everyday.
I love your hugs, your kisses, and even your fore-play...
I've never felt for someone the way I feel for you.
It's like being in a fantasy, but will the dream come true?

My life is incomplete without your presence surrounding me.
All I really want is to be your everything.
I know that I'm not perfect and I know I've made mistakes,
but now I know that all is left is the time that you make.

The time I make?
I'll spend it with you, in your arms forever just so long as you are true.
So when I tell you that I love you, you know it's nothing new.
I've been loving you for some time.
I think that you can see that I'm ready for your love.
The question to you is...
Are you ready for me?

If I tell you that I love you...

I Am An Addict With A Pen

I am an addict with a pen
I have a trouble in the past
Past relationships
Past brokenness
Brokenness inspires me
Brokenness motivates
Motivates my writing
Motivates my actions
Actions speak louder than words
Actions are most important
Important thoughts
Important words
Words are only spoken from a human mouth
Words are only letters on a piece of paper
Paper to journal my thoughts
Paper to talk through my emotions
Emotions are what stop my words from flowing
Emotions come in waves
Waves of riots
Waves of depression
Depression aches in my heart
Depression can be constant
Constant heartbreak
Constant pain
Pain is temporary
Pain will go away
Away from you
Away from your thoughts
Thoughts can kill
Thoughts can heal
Heal you from your brokenness
Heal you from your addiction

Actions Speak Louder than Words

Hello Everyone! It's been a long time but I'm back. This is a song I wrote based off a text message hope you enjoy it:)

I don't know where to start
All I know is you tore me apart
But that's ok, I'll live another day
Where to begin?
All I know is this has to end
No more fear, but before I go
Let me make one thing clear...

I don't hate you
I hate all the things you put me through
It seems no matter how much good I do
You just go and stab me in the back
But you no, I love you to death
I think my actions are the opposite of hate don't you?
After all actions speak louder than words

I hope you understand
I'm letting go of your hand
No more pulling me down
I'll just leave without a sound
No longer your prey
But before I leave I have one thing to say...

I don't hate you
I hate all the things you put me through
It seems no matter how much good I do
You just go and stab me in the back
But you no, I love you to death
I think my actions are the opposite of hate don't you?
After all actions speak louder than words

Is it getting through your head?
What we had is now dead
Time to lay it to rest
In it's bed, but before I leave
I have one thing to say
As the last tear is shed...

I don't hate you
I hate all the things you put me through
It seems no matter how much good I do
You just go and stab me in the back
But you no, I love you to death
I think my actions are the opposite of hate don't you?
After all actions speak louder than words

You Don't Say

My nose is itchin', company's comin'.
Land sakes alive, as I live and breathe,
haven't seen you in a Coon's age.
Lookin' fat and sassy.

We're fair to middlin', barely gittin' by.
Livin' hand t'mouth, kids drivin' us up th'wall.
Uncle Sam bleedin' us dry. How're y'all farin'?

I'm on the skids, man, boss on my case.
Tossed out on my ear.

	Ye gads and little fishes.
Ain't that the way, yah giv'em an inch,
	they'll take a mile. You'll wind up
with your tail draggin' your tracks out.

Well, buck up, boy, every cloud has a silver lining.
	Rome wasn't built inna day.
Don't give up before you start.
	Where there's a will, there's a way.
Keep your chin up, time heals all wounds.
Don't sweat it, man, it'll all come out in th' wash.
In for a penny, in for a pound.
Put on a happy face, fake it, till you make it.
Stop monkeyin' around, actions speak louder than words.
Go out there and knock 'em dead.
	It's every man for himself.
Let the chips fall where they may.

Pretty Is As Pretty Does

My Grandmother had a sage saying,
she would regale us with, many times.
With various nouns for exchanging.
But, the meaning rang clear like a chime.

"Pretty is as pretty does".
If, as a diva, on of us girls was heard.
She would hit us with that saying because,
she knew actions spoke louder than words.

Being of a religious nature,
she deplored and showed her discontent,
of those that would shout out their own praise,
then would go about doing ill intent.

"Christian is as Christian does".
Grandma did guide us down that path.
She drummed into me that saying because,
she knew actions speak louder than words.

** This poem was inspired by the wise sayings
of my Grandmother who raised us. This one means...
Actions speak louder than words.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Actions Speak Louder Than Words Contest Sponsor: Silent One Why can't I sleep tonight? I can not stop thinking about our last fervid conversation. Broken promises of a long lost love affair between the cores of two fleshly desires. The nature of the problem resides within your poor mentality. You think you speak of righteousness and I listen with hopelessness. You think you speak of virtuousness and I listen with nauseousness. The podium you built from scratch reminds me of unshakable memories of my childhood days in school. Annoyed at what I was being taught and waiting for the bell to ring. When will your bell ring? When will your presentation fail? I'm pretty sure you have already failed at loving me right and sharing good character of tender moments I deserve.. Up to my doorstep you walked. I saw the look on your face. The look of regret and sorrow. How can you have sorrow? My self-pity is so comfortable and it lays me down at ease with my decisions. I already closed the door, but this time I must open it with caution... My discretion melted as I saw your face. Tears were being shed, as my fears stopped and bled. Bleeding into the hole of nothingness I thought I only reserved for your poor intentions. I anticipated provoking words dripping out of my lips, but all I could do was look in your eyes and feel your remorse dig deeper into my oblivion. Apologies were said and the begging occurred during the time I felt forgiveness seep through my essence. Was your essence truly remorseful? Was my wall falling down enough to let you back into my world? Maybe it was... ...falling...falling..falling into your arms of warmth... You held confessions of why you were lost, and why you couldn't lose me. “For without you, there is no me”, you whispered while we shared a moment of peace. You came in and there you sat in silence. Contemplating on what words you thought would change my point of view. Silence...silence...uncomfortable silence... Don't you know your actions caused a chain reaction that dripped beneath my self-worth? Don't you know any sort of discourse you were trying to address would mean nothing? Good deeds with good intentions can slowly wash away the pain of loss. Loss is not an action. It is an occurrence one's true love being swept away without reasons or time to prepare. Your demeanor must change. The sky must reflect your light into my soul once again. Your conduct needs to carry respect and honor in the name of my love. If one is dealing with inner consequences, behavior must alter itself to conform into self respect and true manners. “It is only through direct transformation that I will pardon you...for you have always been my constant companion, and now I vow to remain in your arms under the condition knowing that your endeavors will always speak louder than words. No words in the world can reprieve wrong doings, but I have faith in you..and... ...faith in us...” ~Date Written: March 24, 2016~

My African Queen

"Behind  every successful man there is a woman  who saw his walk of shame until he walk in fame"

My African Queen

She taught me how to smile
When all i knew  was to cry
She told me that i should always try
Is like  i know how  to fly
Up in the sky
She took me and  hid me  on her arms
I swear life can't  hurt a Fly

My dreams are beyond hellow
I want to  follow my dreams like a shadow
Build my own  empire as  Jaylo

In the  midst of my battle

She came and taught me how to have  fun
That day we fought
I was Drunk
There is a thin line between love and hate
She's  mine, the line will never be crossed
Though hatred  is contagious
It Doesn't  stand a chance

Love is  putting someone needs before yours
Love over everything
Everyone  complain
Love is blind
But Nothing beats the feeling
Is a feeling no one can't Explain

When my art is not taken into consideration
She's always there telling me how self _ determination  really matters
if self _ determination is the key to success why am I still locked behind these walls?
How i love it when we  argue

She 'll never know how much I love her
Words could never explain the feeling
Actions speak louder than words
What my heart feels
Or what i wish i could say
Saying i love you
Sounds so simple
Saying she  mean the world to me
Just not enough

There is no definition
That could truly describe my love for her
Love bigger than the four letters
Where everything matters
Far more beautiful than it appears
Because of all this and more
You'll never know how much i love her
She's my African Queen

No Longer Asking

I asked for honesty
.........I got filled with lies
I asked for genuine
 .......I got a guy with a disguise
I asked for consideration
........I got deliberately ignored
I asked to be prioritized
........I got my ego floored
I asked for laughter
........I got eyes full of tears
I asked for a good listener
........I got a guy with deaf ears
I asked for happiness
........I got my hopes dashed
I asked for love
........I got my heart slashed
I asked for a gentleman
........I got a player instead
I asked for maybe too much
........I got in way over my head

So I'm no longer asking
........for actions speak louder than words.

A Few Nothings

To love someone,
Then, to suddenly hate
Dig own dungeons
Then why blame the fate?

When ‘pen is mightier, than the sword’
Then why do actions, speak louder than words?

Finding answers to unasked questions
Laughing at others
While we fail to understand our own perceptions

Why to ‘Forgive and Forget’
When something makes us cry and upset

‘Silence is Golden’, are words of the weak
When left unheard
Even the dumb shout at the peak

Why ‘better late than never’
Moment lost , can it be earned again ever?

Moments we try to forget
Engrave themselves in our mind

Small things we try to remember
Slip away like sands of time

‘Immortal’ time, away it flies
But every Bird, one day dies

To have all, yet to want more
Even the tides calm down & merge in ground
Once they hit the shore

Why ‘little learning is dangerous’
Was everyone born perfect & gracious?

‘An eye for an eye’ says the revengeful mind,
But then one day,
Won’t the whole world be blind?

Why am 'I' a no one?
Until I stand up
& prove ‘ME’ over someone

We fall again and again
To be learned & wise
But with Bruises and the pain
Isn’t it tough to rise?

Past is said to be ‘gone’
Then why history repeats itself
Future is yet to ‘born’
Then why do we tense ourselves?

If we can do anything
Why can’t we conquer everything?
I guess you pondered over some things
Things you ignored as ‘A Few Nothings’!!!

Tip of Tongue

What happens to those words we never say?
Many times words are left on tip of tongue
for some love is the hardest word to say
forgotten like thoughts and songs never sung

yet our minds remember it all so clear
instead of words we remained silent
as maturity grows erases fear
a few not said words may be violent

being able to speak truly a gift
words of kindness comes and goes straight from heart
a few kind words can give spirits a lift
and some words can tear someone’s heart apart

keep in mind actions speak louder than words
reach for those flowers instead of those swords

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

quintella (Spanish quintain) in pentameter

Hard-working spider, you do your part,
instinctive busy spider that thou art.
You speak without doubt as you weave your web.
It is we humankind that tend to ebb
and surge, trying to balance mind and heart.

One day man, I'm down, oh my restless soul.
On rising up, how can I dare extol
a friend or employer on a mere whim;
then the very next day dishonor him
by rank conduct that is out of control?

Consistency is a course of action,
a gift that structures one’s reputation.
It is ripe fruit of making wise choices;
it is prudent forethought which rejoices
beyond just making a good impression.

Yes, speak if you wish of what you believe;
AND watch what you do, lest you should deceive
by your performance that which you profess.
Would spiders agree - caprice creates stress?
A web of whimsy is not worth the weave.

Words Of Advice

I can feel your anger
I can feel your pain
It's your fault
You didn't give us enough love

It's your fault
you weren't hard enough
you should have made
me go to school

It's your fault
look at me now
I have no job
I'm living on the street

The words of blame
travel swiftly around the house
yet look deeper
was it my fault you didn't study

Was it my fault
you decided to take drugs
was it my fault
you didn't apply for those jobs

Was it my fault
you wouldn't
go to bed at night
fault and blame

Solves no problem
actions speak louder than words
If I didn't give enough love
learn to cuddle and build love

If I didn't make you
go to bed
learn self discipline
and get there yourself

there are course's to take
that will build your career
build the skills and stop blaming me
granted I am not perfect

Yet neither are you
lets stop laying blame
lets stop creating pain
lets decide to make a future

You can do it
you can stop taking drugs
you can stop finding fault
you can create a career

with the job
come's the money
with the money
come's a home

with a wage to support you
you create a life worth living
you can become proud
stating I overcame drugs

I got a job
I have a home
I have a family
Thanks for the words of advice

Ahimsa

Bad thoughts, self pity, self harm, it may seem harmless to you, but its not the answer to subdue your inner pain deep inside you.

To practice self love, true inner peace, is to be thankful for your God given gifts, you smile from inside out, to bring peace to others, when they around you are filled with darkness and doubt.

The image you see with your eyes is not the true scenery that really counts, for its always starts within deep in your heart. Actions speak louder than words. Show your true peace, beauty with only your arms and hands.

Practice Ahimsa, speak with the tongue, only of true love, for all living things and beings on this earth. Let us be neighbors, friends, what a peaceful wish to dream about, if you try looking at the heart, and not with your mind, for beauty within has no disguise..

Louder Then Words

paper hearts can never foil
the obvious from happening
you speak of despair
like you come
from a place of happiness
you fuel me
like the water liquor burns
we move
like the fire of hearts
young and torn

after all you're left for dead
you better off coming off your meds
the sweetest thing you said to me
is actions speak louder than words

i'm no longer yours to forgive or forget
living like cliches
the secret is to forgive and forget
counting down the days
the minutes you mark
i'll be here when the hours are dark
roaming like children
screaming of riddles in the park
easy like noah never parked his ark
gritty like paper hearts
we never fold
the sweetest thing i was ever told
"actions speak louder then words"

after all you're left for dead
you better off coming off your meds
the sweetest thing you said to me
is actions speak louder than words

i'm no longer yours
to forgive & forget
i'm no longer yours
to live with regret

In Spite Of Myself

I know I act annoyed or put out when you call me frequently
during the day in spite of the fact your only doing it because
you miss me. Yet you still place me on a pedestal.

I know at times I complain about something you cooked in spite
of the fact you put in long days and I am at home. Yet you
still cherish me and happily do for me.

I know frequently I have the TV on or the computer, in spite
of the fact you have to get up very early and need sleep, yet
you still tell me it doesn't bother you and to go ahead.

I know at times I ask for things, in spite of the fact we are
short of money. Yet you still do everything you can to see
that I can get and do things I enjoy.

I know several times when something has happened I will tell you that I don't think you love me and that actions speak louder than words.

What a needed reality check. I...who claims they know how to love and give
now realizes that if I am judged by the way I judge others, I need a kick
in the pants.

It goes to show that when one really wants to see a true reflection
of who they are needs to look in the mirror when it's clear...not
when it's fogged over.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Why should we help those not our own
and show concern when others weep?
Why visit those who sigh alone
when days drag on and shadows creep?

Why should we offer clothes and meals
             to neighbors plagued by poverty
or care about how others feel
when grief and strife are all they see?

Why do some tell their families
"I love you," but--How time slips by!--
             miss out on opportunities
to show that love while loved ones sigh?

Why do some feel well-wishing and
smiles are enough when they could ACT
on others' needs? A willing hand
and winsome words have great impact.

Kind words will never wrap you in
	     a blanket, feed or shelter you;
sweet smiles are not sufficient when
the hours spent with you are few.

Equality

People think actions speak louder than words. They are right in certain occasions, but sometimes words hurt more than they think. Words harm feelings as much as cats harm mice.
Many people think it’s wrong to be different, that being normal is whatever they are. They bully, tease, harass, or have no respect for people who are different. They start arguments about it, but when they get called out on it, they say we should keep our differences to ourselves.
You should be proud to be yourself. You shouldn’t be afraid to be yourself. Walk around with your back straight, head high. If they call you a name, say something back, but not rude. Say “thanks” or “I know I am.” Don’t let them have fun being nasty. If they get a kick from making you feel insignificant, then they are the kind of people who will grow and get a job making others feel bad.
If you are a girl, and you walk down the hall hand in hand with a girl, you are considered a lesbian, even if you are bisexual. The same goes for guys, but with ruder names. It is their opinion to like who they like. They shouldn’t be forced to do anything but what they like. You should be able to walk with your partner with pride, not shame.
Does it make you feel better to judge someone because they aren’t afraid to be their self? Yeah, it’s your own opinion, and your choice not to like it, but it isn’t ok to judge someone. They should feel proud of who they are. Think about it. How would you feel?

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

In the blink of an eye and remorse far away
Your wavering heart blistered away my loving years

Your verbal pleasantries seem to mock
Your artful facade with a serpentine sting

In the beatific moments your need was me
We spent lucid loving hours spent at comfortable ease

New beginnings became easy with me to shield
You climbed my inherited ladders in splendid guise

I spruced the hearth and kept it warm with crystalline cheer
Your eyes, I fear, I couldn't fathom as I tucked our babes to bed

Now you fumble with your deceitful heart to temper me
When unchartered hours were gambled away with a seductive lass

Trust exploded in my rose quartz heart
When I saw you two cooing by mere accident

Your pitched frequency of dilly dallying
No more resonates with my simplicity

Our winsome fairy tale has ended
And your wilful satiric tale has begun

The charisma of ethereal love is poised on
Drooling actions and not on banal promises

Actions speak louder than words

Symbols cluster to form your speech
As sprinkled emotions find their seat
Like echoes ricochet off hallowed halls
Resonate an evidence of a tangible fall

Oh mighty words
How you long to portray
Apologies and promises
Which deeds should convey

Ten in the bush or one in the hand
Shall proof lessen my faith
Does the hourglass lie by its last speck of sand
Or shade make a sundial fake

Eloquent phrases doth not expectations meet
Validation must have its day
A narrative cannot express silences feat
For its stone which endures not clay

Grant me the man
Who's actions speak louder than words
With him through Hell's fire I shall stand
And love him without end undeterred
