A new dawning
And yawning
Before my eyes clear
I hear
The chirps from the birds
Those pleasing words
As they near my sill
Then a tap with their bill
Busily going about their business
In alertness
Their presents is consoling
As it was time to get rolling
Their sounds seem to blend with modern life
Our daily strife
And I wondered how they could acclimate to their surroundings
How challenging
While ten ton cars rush down the streets
Our city sparrow’s sits and eats
While they are within inches of this fury
Upon the trees they sit with glory
They build their nests in unnoticed places
While our world embraces
And their purpose is clear
For here
They bring cheer
To the city streets

Lyric
Summer’s almost over - that convalescent state
where successive modes of pleasure
were the order of the day.
Now fall commands awakening -
drive simplicity away! The hounds
of hell are yelping that it’s time to banish play.
They cry “forget unscheduled hours
that owned no share of care - the virtual halls
are scheduled and we’ll soon see you there.”
No apotropaic magic can delay my slated fate -
to pixelated halls of learning I must soon acclimate.

TO ACCLIMATE ACADEMIA - SOCIAL THEOLOGICAL STUDIES
Once God confused the languages, humanity processed out to form religion.
Yet, creation had given us our own separate places
WHEREFORE, the Berlin Wall was placed to confront differences in opinion.
Was one nation negated?
History has shown us that man is his own dilemma, woman is his triumph, and child is his neglect when he is not about the future but only the past.
Do we speak on what’s wrong?
Or, do we stand by until all hope is gone?
Was the walk just a facade?
Did this solve any problems?
As the universe, we diversify.
But in a world that is structure around immigration, informed by origin and enslavement, diversification is divergently challenge through discrimination and hate crimes.
Opposing a wrongful world to define the mundane is when humankind abominates from the atrocities described.
Reforming a rightful mind brings a positivist unity that has never been in our lives.
Unanimity, concordance, and harmony discreet.
Our political leaders are not embracing antiquity...
Instead, they relic the identity.
Will it end?
The revelation that is not shown.
Is this a threat to human life formed?
Inner body is the secret chamber.
In the body will it remain?
To put before requires us to apply one thing to another.
Individuals populate as people.
One person left out can cause a crucifixion where pain is the affliction.
In that suffering is so great, abhorrence is by fate,
Social theologically I write to depart insight from hindsight.
Through not so freely gave because a mind is to decipher to become a sage
Positing my thoughts for others to decrypt is fine and dandy.
Of course, it is.
Gen that consigns philosophers to seek the truth, insofar as the Tarot reader sees from the spread of cards.
As a result, the world has become the universe.

Dramatic Monologue
Stanzas One, Two, Three And Growing
There was “She Played the Harp”(1), when I truly was young,
“Ode to Verde Lee Allen”(2), a stop on a rung,
Loving women has always been easy for me,
For their beauty’s not found just in eye of beholder
Even boys with weak eyes don’t need glasses to see
Their humility shining each day they get older.
Where humility’s lacking man struggles with fate,
Overconfidence means that you don’t acclimate
It’s not really a question of “born smarts” or “brawn,”
More that Nature’s corrections are seen as God’s feedback,
That your life is still open, you haven’t withdrawn,
And in love you find warmth that sustains you through setback.
And it’s not just in loving a woman you grow,
Sometimes love’s greatest gift might be letting her go!
Is there dream that she has you can’t see as a goal
Or a burden relationship puts on your nature?
Is it selfishness that you respect your own soul,
Or that you can find value in her new adventure?
Going Beyond Four
Many men find that failure creeps past each new door,
For maturity slows pretty close to age four.
A man’s passion to be right, to win, may not serve!
Must your bad dreams cry “Uncle” or end with a whimper?
Does your stiff upper lip suggest you might lack nerve?
Do you go for a smile or just settle for simper?
Are you faking success when you could have been real,
Maybe better to stay with how you really feel?
Is it possible you’ve become tool of your press,
Being right is a stress that can make a man weaker,
It’s a terrible burden, the need to impress!
And the “KISS”(3) principle might help you be a seeker.

Poet's Notes:
(1) "She Played the Harp" and
(2) "Ode to Verde Lee Allen" are fun poems in this collection honoring two of my grade school love interests. :-)
(3) The “KISS Principle” suggests that the wise “keep it simple!”

I want to be in love with you again.
He searches for purpose, he begs for reason. He does so in a hectic manner, with no ease to the tension in his search. The answer sits clearly above. While he furiously pokes and prods amongst grains and chunks of rock and dirt. Allowing the weight of himself to dig his knees in deeper, creating impressions of each distinctive pebble.
I want to see you smile again.
He has become intolerant at this point in time. With lungs fully depressed, he pushes deeper down into the soot. The hysteria and claustrophobia sends the man into a panic. He no longer recognizes himself, or those who define him.
I want you to feel beautiful again.
Exasperated, the man finds the tips of each finger to be numb. The blood is slow to reach the surface; much like his level of comprehension. The man can no longer acclimate; the inability to adapt to the rush around him spirals his good intentions into a void. Ignorance has exhumed the entirety of his perception.
I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
An absence of light; his consciousness is bleak, a figment of a once good man. The hand-dug hole set upon the cadaver of the man; whom tirelessly trenched until fingers split, served as a bed to the broken figure. With what dirt lay around, had been pushed in by whom had stood over the man in his final failure.
I don't ever want to see you cry for me.
A mound is all that's left. A woman dressed in tears; stood by, long before the man had died. Suffice to say, gave reason for him to dig. If ever she had stopped him, would only incite the man to dig deeper. Harrowing, his tale of being unable to love in return.
I don't want you to be alone.
The man's existence seemed futile. Nevertheless, he carries on a legacy unknown to himself. Much more to her than a child. Through his incessant pain, she realizes her own strength. And from the death of such colossal pain, grows life. A flower perched upon the mound. A metamorphosis from an inkling of negative, to a plethora of beauty.
I want you to be happy for yourself.
Like the child never to be had, she is unable to conceive the remnants of his past. The overwhelming nature of freedom is personified through his death.

There is an old and wise saying,
Take only what you need
and use everything you take.
We often consider the first part,
or at least make occasional stabs at simplicity,
but the last part is less frequently said
or thought about
as essential to healthy vulnerability.
If we don't use everything we take
and have been given by others,
then we can be sure
we have been given, and perhaps taken,
more than we need.
Taking only what we need
sounds obvious and transparently ethical,
perhaps even aesthetic
in purity of harmonic intent,
yet more mysterious
and richer
and deeper
when we remember
that life itself,
and human life even evolving more so,
is lived in margins,
double-boundaried spaces,
places,
times,
seasons of growth and decay.
Earth's marginal soul
is living soil and water,
surface wind and fire storms
and swells and ebbs.
RNA and DNA regenerate
on and within this thin biosystemic sphere
between atmosphere
and dead bedrock.
Life, as contrasted to not-life,
is a marginally placed process
of learning to take only what Earth offers
and gratefully using everything as cooperative gift.
Life derives from prehistoric photosynthesis
on Earth's evolving and devolving synthesis
and revolving skin.
And our senses, all five,
each take what we need of this synthesis
to LeftBrain adapt
and RightBrain adopt
what our thin margin offers us
of and for a healthy simplicity
yet wealthy diversity
of synthesizing double-boundaried life through death.
Humane life is evolutionary
within Earth's marginal organic boundaries
as we choose to use everything
our RNA and DNA Elders
have gracefully and phylogenically offered us
to swim and walk and fly
within Earth's bountiful health boundaries.
Humanity defines what Earth has given
as marginally sufficient diversity
and is uniquely poised on a constant multicultural edge
to fully delineate,
acclimate,
creolize,
know polypathic gratitude
for this polyphonic boundary grace,
to deeply digest
and warmly decompose
every sensory gift of Earth
we take in
through this vulnerable ride
between natural birth
and spiritual revolution,
Taking only what marginal wealth
we need
and using every double-boundaried healthy day and night
we gratefully receive.

Prose Poetry
It's easy to do nothing,
As the years pass, to your house.
"It looks okay" - a maxim
Many homeowners espouse.
But if, at last, the motivation
Strikes and you proceed,
You may discover some improvement's
What you really need.
A paint job, new appliances,
Replacements for your chairs,
A spruced-up garden and a guy
Who's handy with repairs.
From day to day, it's hard to see
How much we acclimate
To our surroundings, even as
They turn so out-of-date.
A few small changes may just help
You get into the groove
And you may be surprised to find
Your home and mood improve.

You know, sometimes I wonder throughout life's blunder's in pursuit of my
wonders. How do the bird's know to acclimate themselves's when there's a change
in the weather? Why do some people's ask why? for the moans of a woman is a
persistent to her sadness. For (6)six day's it took to creat this world is due to
tribulation of God's gladness. Gas prices and its cost to the pocketbook and now look,
most of the astonishing new's we hear about is always the same.
People we put our trust in, and also the welfare of places and thing's end up cost-
ing more than we ever thought possible. The result being-a scandle that brings about
shame. But head's must be helt amongst the high and mighty, because the root of
life's problems and life itself-becomes, "the end of a beginning" when one seek too
count the lost of our "Surrendering".

The devil is your helpmeet,
go ignore your P's and Q's,
as you dabble in black magic
and re-activate the fuse.
Murder will befall you
as you ply your wicked trade,
yours or someone else's
'til the debt to Sin is paid.
Criminals, malingerers,
and those with crooked hearts
will wriggle through the sacraments,
upset the applecarts.
They'll paint you in the blackest light
and daub your soul with blood,
play your insecurities
and sway you from the Good.
Don't compromise your fearless heart
to acclimate his will,
remember he is waiting
for your innocence to spill.

One hundred years away from now...
Two-thousand, one hundred eighteen,
advances in today's know-how
will be the past on 'new world' scene.
Yet, what will change and what will stay...
so hard to find an answer to,
since now a hundred years, someway,
flies faster than it used to do.
We'll need more time for flying cars,
sky monorails from state to state.
More time to settle up on Mars
with air that we can acclimate.
But, lonely times we will embrace
behind new futuristic screens.
There all our actions will take place...
less human-like, more like machines.
We'll work from home for companies
with formal meetings through VR;
and purchase all necessities
on internet's worldwide bazaar.
Provision services airways
will drone to us our goods and food.
Home entertainment clicks away,
through holographic aptitude.
Robotic-like machines will serve
production done by hands before.
Technology will strengthen verve
to more non-humanly explore.
Less face to face between our kind...
all feelings, thoughts, fly thru the air.
Heartfelt emotions leave the mind...
much less to think about...or care.

As the storm clouds gather over the sun
A tiny opening lets through beams of light
Still a swirling dark mass like a sea undone
Resting behind are beams of sunlight
Rain is needed and the clouds a delight
They offer protection from the noon's heat
Cover from summer's full sun which is bright
Maybe tonight will be a cooler treat
Despite dark clouds, there's hope for new days
Maybe sunlight for an afternoon tromp
Or some time for water sports and play
An evening filled with much romp and stomp
Dark clouds can be at sometimes aboding
But after the storm life is acclimating
