When all around is darkness
Who provides the sun
When everyone is serious
Who is poking fun
When pollution clouds the bright blue sky
Who brings clarity
Who tries to bring some common sense
To mass insanity
When people kill for a belief
Who is pointing fingers
When bullies push their weight around
Who is the first gunslinger
Who sees the heavenly beauty
In Mother Nature's charm
When the house of cards goes up in flames
Who sounds the fire alarm
When depression comes and pulls you in
Who writes you words of comfort
When they can't think of rhyming words
Who makes up words like bumfort
Who puts their feelings into words
With sonnets from the heart
Who describes a garbage dump
With a color chart
Whose imagination
Can jump from sea to star
Or describe the pungent odor
Of their grandpa's stale cigar
What people share a common bond
Make pictures out of words
It's a talent that we happily share
Let every voice be heard
As wordsmiths we are special
Cause we feel what others see
Let's weave our threads together
Show the world our tapestry

Premium Member Soul Embrace

Sunlight rains upon my face
Cascading memories cloaked in mystery
Kissing my eyelids
Ancient teardrops glide down my cheeks
Warmth illuminating my hungry soul

A sense of calm
A pulsating ellipse emerges before me
I dive into the magenta abyss
Releasing my wounded heart from its cage
Fear resides
Primal vibrations guide me

Becoming one with galaxies and starlight
My limbs relax
I flow ~ I undulate
I swim in the warmth of the universe
Time and space have become me and I them

Perched on a massive salt-stained boulder
Gazing towards the briny distance
Shades of White
A passionate brushstroke across the horizon
Sky and sea in a lover’s embrace

Caw .... caw ..... caw....

I feel you beckon me
Swallowing the sweet pit of truth
Nudged by a warm gust
I look down seeing the bundle
cradled in my arms

Your endless gaze speaks lifetimes of wisdom
Birth, struggle, bliss, challenge, and death
I watch you intently readying yourself
to pounce upon your unsuspecting prey

Riding this timeline of life
Together as one
Tick tock
Forward backward
Inward to the beating center of creation

Young one I see your sage reflection
In my gilded hand mirror
Me here and you there
Your smiling eyes
Tearing at my core

Come float with me
In sheer turquoise splendor
Adorned with seaweed crowns and abalone jewels
Rays of light penetrate the watery depths
Colonies of majestic stingrays hover nearby
Welcoming us to join their scared dance forevermore

Uncharted Waters

An ocean tumbles through dreams of you. In depths unknown,
I float above. Oh, how I long to dive beneath your surface,
yet I am timid in matters of love. If brave, I’d have shown
you the whole of my gushing heart, no less than tides of bliss.
Seeking depths unknown, I long to dive beneath your surface.

Searching your eyes, I want for treasures lost on the ocean’s floor.
The sun, like a gold coin, drops, splashing this face of regret. I blush
in secret thoughts of you and turn away from the endless shore.
A swoop from seagulls catches the light of your smile and breaks the hush
of late sky. Turning away from the endless shore of regret, I blush.

My lonely shore may flood, a wish to bathe in the caress of you
granted. I shall break from fear, to brave a rolling river between us.
Down current, I’ll swim until I reach your ocean of sparkling blues.
I would drown in the waves of your uncharted waters. Glorious
would be death in the caress of you, your uncharted waters…glorious.

Premium Member They Walk Amongst Us

They walk amongst us, but in silent ways,
spreading peace and love without any praise.
When thunder roars and lightning strikes in rain
they watch over us, healing bleeding pain.

Yet we do not see their celestial light,
nor do they shed feathers within our sight.
Happy to hide behind unknown faces,
empathy guides them to deprived places.

Heal and soothe, they prevent tears from flowing,
touch our hearts to leave our spirits glowing.
From Sydney to London, Rome to Bombay,
provide moments that take our breath away

Their acts of grace form a ripple effect,
kind gestures that help people to connect.

     ~Poetesses and Poets, Divine~

All over this great planet we live,
Penning our thoughts, and love to give!

With our hearts, as lanterns so bright,
Writing with hearts into this summer night.

Pen thee, then, of nature’s fine beauty.
Quietly, we are world Muses on duty.

Creations we form of happiness and sorrow.
Moonlight and dreams, on which to borrow!

A hug from me, now..close your eyes.
Tomorrow is both a gift and a surprise!

Hugs,

Premium Member Giving Godly Grace

Grace-full is the lily born of virtue’s milk
Inspiring me with petals pure in my hour of need -
Vow and vim of passion vivid and empowering as I
Imagine the strength of soulful surrender while three
Nails were driven into a suffering so great -- selflessly You
Gave Your mortal life so I may live despite thorns and thirst

Grateful is my blossom watered with Your blood and tears
Opened with a faith unfurled by Light I venerate
Devotions trumpet from a callous soul once solus - jubilant the
Lifeless root that stood futile in fertile remorse before I
Yielded my yoke to the hands of merciful Love; please Lord

Grant me the fortitude to face my sorrow - Your
Resurrection reminds me of the sacred sacrifice endured
Accepted with the courage I strive to possess -- though I
Cannot conceive.. I believe in the circle of contentment; the
Essence and embrace of God’s white whorl of salvation

Premium Member Eroticism of Inspiration

In swoon ‘neath golden moon and sable sweep
let bathe with hues upon my canvas soak
romance a mingle, brush and pigment sweet,
enrapture me your passion’s hungry stroke

explore an aura, fluid colors blur
imbue the skies of empty eyes a soul,
in deepest purple daubs a midnight stir
as lover weaves a dream to make me whole

caress the edge to fuse desire and shapes
lay a layer one atop the other
a throb of contrast, feelings free to traipse,
smoothing over yearnings with a flutter

starlit glaze and silky graze artistic
awaken chroma crave for drama shades,
     mood’s aglow, aroused and optimistic
before the painter’s lusty palette fades.

Premium Member Space and Time

Entering the doorway through my heart
Following the nuance of space
Allowing expansion ~ mystery ~ and curiosity
To guide me into realms of spiritual awakening
Journeying through moments in time

Filled with opportunities
To appreciate and cherish
To express gratitude
To be connected to the forces
Of nature and humanity

Together we take flight
Guided by white hawks
Silently lifting off
Into darkened skies
Kissed by gray hues

Alighting on silken clouds
Transporting us higher
A deep inhale as gentle breezes
Tickle my earlobes and caress my soul

My heart is open ~ expanding ~ gaining insight
Exposed
My tears flow freely
I allow the pain and suffering to become me
As I focus on illumination and helping others
With embracing arms and heart alive
Calling out to our elders and animal spirits
To join in our collective dance

The soft wind carries us
We float and fly and glide
Entering the realm of light
Sunbeams vibrating at the edges of perception

A fuzzy twinkling as our eyes excite
Riding magic cloud carpets
Above ocean’s breast
Gazing down
The beauty becomes us
Gold light rays skate on undulating waves
Illuminating tide’s glimmering foam
A waltz of light and sound
Briny majesty

Luminous shafts dance and sway
In a lovers embrace
Across veridian waves
Passionately singing out
Becoming one

Our voices ~ melodies
Songs of our ancestors
Ballads from distant shores
Past and present
Reveal themselves in
Tender haunting notes
Arriving on mist’s fingertips

Hoovering close to Mother Ocean’s surface
We hear her heartbeat
Lap lap lap ... bubbles ... breath
Surface foam breaking
She appears in nature’s coat of shiny black
A regal humpback
A tranquil Goddess welcoming us

We ride upon this graceful giant
As she whispers her secrets
Feeling her slow movement
Through watery depths
Turning gently ~ moving up and down
We welcome her strength as
Turquoise tides caress us

Guided by celestial navigation .... we ride
Gazing up at the sparkling stars
We listen to the collective heartbeat of eternity

One breath
One exhale
Together

Premium Member Doors

There are so many doors
Which ones should I choose
Green, yellow, brown, purple
and many different blues

Some of them are rustic
Others modern and clean
Some lead to the future
others back where I've been

Some doors open easily
while quite a few are locked
There are some left open
and others that are blocked

A few so enticing
promise pleasure within
They are slightly hidden
so few will see me sin

I look through some keyholes
wondering if I'll be safe
I see rooms of plenty
and tables draped in lace

The doors that are daunting
they fill me with such dread
for I know there's sadness
in the land of the dead

Many doors are happy
Friends and loved ones are there
those doors are the best ones
being with people who care

Behind some there's music
Pleasured time we can share
Moments of pure magic
those times are far to rare

Doors leading to adventure
Made me glad I took the chance
The sheer exhilaration
that caused my spirit to dance

Some doorways disguised as books
Yes they caused my mind to grow
They pointed to other doors
so I knew which way to go

The doors that I left closed
In the end I don't regret
They could have brought me ruin
or led my soul into debt

Of all the doors I'll walk through
The final one is the best
For there my Saviour waits
therefore, I know I am blessed

Premium Member Try

Try to live
Try to feel pain with no tears
Try to remember years past and often lost
Try, oh try to know life need not be cold as frost

Ear not the words of those proclaiming silence
Listen to the rhythmic melody; give voice to a new start
The world will follow when you sing from your heart
Believing in things that some may only try

Try, to see, the truth is musical to you and all of thee
Telling histories with music, as soothing as can be
When you sing, and when you inspire our romance
Ones on crutches, they too shall rise and dance

Try, I beg
To see as eye
Even the ear is lost in the sky
Purest of hearts, they never die

Premium Member Life, To Me

Colors daubed for seasons' scenes
I sift through life for what it means
In spite of chaos, shades and flings
It comes down to the simple things

The mountain tops, the dark abyss'
Have ground my egos down to this
Of all the chance and spheres I'm of
Life's worth and essence is ... but LOVE

Indeed, I've lived big moments, too
          The raptures and sweet rendezvous
               Moving mountains - burning skies
     Bright lilting lashes, soft lullabies

Shedding poisons like second skin
Too few dreams to wear them in
I dared the devil, danced with death
     Swore for mercy's whisp'ring breath

So just when ends seemed all to be
This extra chance was proffered me
Don't take for granted or yet waste
That vigor gained from rigors faced

Don't tend concerns to end or start
          It's what's between that fills a heart
True meaning - love's enduring kiss
A life's no less or more ... than THIS.

~ for my fellow poets ~

as slaves to the pen
or our keyboard, more apt
this molding of words
in a word, holds us rapt

fine fancies or fears
take us places unknown
our muse and our craft
better focused alone

the voice of our id -
the bounce of our rhyme
thus, charming or edgy
depending the time

midst romantic puddles
and whimsical trees
we splash our ideas
casting love to the breeze

a danger or hope or
a scorched trist-or-two
occur mind-to-matter
with the lines we imbue

the light AND the dark,
they both hold allure
our child's heart within -
just a tad bit impure

for tho we adore all the
things blithe and bright
we also know beauty
blooms deep in the night

if somber or joyous
thru passage or pain
it’s creatively ordered
thru rhyme and refrain

it's not that we're allied
- that we always agree
it's how we can sculpt
all the wonders we see

so although we may be
as different as spices
we’re thrall to our verses
whatever that price is

for it's a rare language
that few can command
but we speak it together
with a pen in our hand

so you may be a person
whom I've never met
but the gift of your writing
I'll never ...

forget.

Premium Member Adrift In Fiction

Placid rain gently kisses unblemished windows
as leaves fall in an Autumn breeze.
In the distance cinereal clouds congregate,
converging upon the city's royal citadel.

Oblivious to the storm, adrift in cultural fiction
she sits immersed from the ambience
of the scent of new leaves.

Hypnotised - tranquil words enchant her mind,
as her eyes nonchalantly embrace each paragraph.
Her heart is at peace, relating to each character,
some that make her smile - others that displease her.

Jealous winds blow abundant rain,
like bullets shooting against her window.
Attempting to distract from her infatuation,
but her spirit is an unconquerable fortress.

The world is forgotten to her,
as her soul performs the role
of her favourite character.
Observing to learn through them,
so she can learn about her self.

The final page,
the last sentence,
leads to watery eyes.
For the peace and beauty
she experiences in books,
she does not find in life.

Premium Member Doll

"Hi Doll!"
He's been calling me that for years
I like it

Truth is I have always been a doll

My permanent smile
My open arms

I was a sweet sixteen's baby doll
her brother's too old to play with doll
a favourite doll
forgotten doll
replaced doll

A bounced off two cars rag doll

A fashion doll
possession comfort toy pretty thing on your arm with
eyes that roll doll

Not real
not taken seriously doll

A spinning three faced porcelain
cracked and chipped with rocks and scissors
paper doll

fragile doll

disfigured doll

tearing out my stuffing
losing my head

broken doll

A doll
like any other doll

that just wants to be held.

Premium Member Tearful

“My tears are testimony of my devotion to Beloved;
and from those tears white lilies will grow that speak the truth.”
Rumi

I had heard the legend of her tears,
silent drops of sorrow liberating her pain,
flowing upon the tip of her voiceless lips.
Her hopes descending like blossom buds,
drowning in ripples of rampant tides,
dragging her deeper into despair,
as her words suffocated among ignorant waves.
Trials of life had infected her mind,
with a melody of melancholic vapours,
setting her adrift in misplaced uncharted waters.

Immersing further, her cries no longer echoed,
as her heart choked upon confined consciousness.
Upon the depths of concussed misconception,
under electric, earthquake, haunting horizons,
her soul lay in slumber deluded by misjudgement.

Confused between regret and remorse,
trapped within the dilemma of circumstance,
her fears set sail upon satanic seas,
but only crawled into solitary seclusion -
forming eggshell foundations.

I was no hero nor did I have a halo,
but I was born to become a martyr,
in the glory of her martyrdom,
so I unpacked my heart,
ready for the final crusade of my life.
Treading upon a path of cracked glass,
decaying with crumbling concrete,
I wandered towards her speechless screams.
Preparing to feel the personification of her pain.
Empathic nature of my spirit yearned to
rescue her from the illusions of a fathomless abyss,
to release her from her internal crucifixion -
hoping we would merge like ocean and shore.

As I reached the darkness of her door,
like a star falling from heaven,
her truth like stardust, softly sprinkled,
flourishing and nourishing through me.
I placed my heart into her hands,
as light faded out the blackness,
like an abundance of kaleidoscopic petals,
her tears now illuminated like a rainbow.
Overwhelmed in this tranquillity,
shimmering reflections of emotions,
like gentle rain cascading from my soul,
I became tearful as they nurtured my heart's garden.

I remain intoxicated in their enchantment,
kissing her sorrows away for eternity.
