Notes: I have been blessed to have someone far more talented than I, assist me, in learning, and assist me in improving my writing. It’s a joy to learn, and I have learned not only by their kind help, but by reading their poetry as well. It may seem a small deed or detail; however for me, in my passion of writing, this is truly a tremendous gift. It is not e an easy task to edit and help, because you have to wear the cloth of the person you are helping, and this is a gift. Poetry is such a personal form of expression, and I know is not easy to suggest change and yet not bruise an ego.

I am immensely thankful and I truly hope that I have made someone smile!

About this poem: I do not consider this a great write. So I will explain something I have expressed to many fellow poets. A poem from the heart, a poem filled with compassion and empathy and beauty need not be the perfect poem. One who is true to form and rules may write the perfectly constructed poem, and leave people cold and un-interested.

A poem may also be lacking without context, as indeed this one may be, I hope however I have provided that context by the video. That being true, I am ever grateful that at least I had help to make it presentable!

Try to live Try to feel pain with no tears Try to remember years past and often lost Try, oh try to know life need not be cold as frost Ear not the words of those proclaiming silence Listen to the rhythmic melody; give voice to a new start The world will follow when you sing from your heart Believing in things that some may only try Try, to see, the truth is musical to you and all of thee Telling histories with music, as soothing as can be When you sing, and when you inspire our romance Ones on crutches, they too shall rise and dance Try, I beg To see as eye Even the ear is lost in the sky Purest of hearts, they never die Note: If you cant open the video, as sometimes different Countries have different copyrights, just search YOUTUBE for "Mandy Harvey: Deaf Singer With Original TRY"

Wonderful song, amazing person and you did this poem to match, what an outstanding job, Arthur, just wonderful interpretation. I agree wholeheartedly with you, perfect form means nothing if it doesn't touch the reader, this definitely touches a lot of emotions!

I saw this too, arthur. She was amazing. And the other night had some wow moments as well. I love that show so much. do they have it in Canada (like "Canada's got Talent")? Your poem is so true what it says about purest of hearts.

I watched this on AGT on tv Arthur. It is a moving video. The deaf are helped by feeling vibrations. I was married to a deaf man for twelve years and I am an uncertified interpreter for the deaf. This particular lady was blessed with being able to hear in her past which helped her with her vocals, yet her triumph is none the less great. Your poem celebrates her triumph. Lovely! : )

I saw this the other day and it was pretty awesome that she could still play and sing by just vibration since she had lost her hearing I think at the age of 18 from some sort of nerve disease . Love your purity in your words.
