Civilisation's got me down
taking me to the tail of my tether
driving me round the bend
I'm not going to stick it out
to see where it will end
I'll do my best to regress
back to the stone age
cook on fire paint the walls
sit on rocks keep my cool
do what I have to when nature calls
humanity gets my goat
making me vote skins no clothes
leading me to lunacy's throes
I'm not going to see it through
to find where it all goes
I want to be a cave caveman
a tough rough-and-ready caveman
and do what cavemen do
and if you feel the animal urge
I'll make caveman love to you
I stopped for a moment to cherish the piercing and vivid
It was a split-second; behind cloud-like eyelids
There's a softness, being caught in their scope
Causing sorrows to quickly turn, into genuine hope
In my heart secretly chambered, hides your love tender and lush
Awakened to dreams that have long been asleep,
Whispering our sweet secrets with a gentle hush,
As if to assure my world they were meant to keep
What our welded link has forever awoken
Beyond the blue in those skies, light shines so deep,
Illuminating paths that were once broken,
Within the landscape of time, our true colors blend,
Recreating moments that fully transcend,
Forever etched in my memory's bend,
A testament that love's eternally fair
Let's hold tighter this second chance we both share,
For it's the only thing, that will truly be, beyond compare
To you coming back into my life with loving eyes that still care
Train bypassing just over the rivers bend
Sturdiest and unpromising of bridges, carry my feet along your lumber
Steal away the time I should be an honorable member of society
Keep me as your own and offer me company as you do the passing trains
Just before the sunrise do your wood beams greet the world, before those of the sun can
Eerily so do your shadows beautifully haunt weary folk in moonlight
But I stand unafraid and I walk along you, most enchanting bridge of pure delight
Outstretched arms and heightened ground consume my presence
Perhaps I will greet the river below, blow a cherished kiss
And dream of flowing with her as the fish flow by and by
Greeting all the places along the way I've yet to see
Scheming of making way to connecting streams and many the woodsy place
It is solely me now, guided under constellations and starlight
One with nature you could say, and so then I am not alone
I have met the river and jumped aboard, no more dreaming now
Souring like a bird through endless currents of this waterway's love
In a moment’s awareness, You gently stepped.
Held my hand, held my breath---
I took to resolve to dance with You,
In silence tap territories anew.
A galaxy of stars, passed the Milky Way
You held my hands as we sway.
My being no longer belongs to me.
You being in control, I cease to be.
As my eyes nestle in dreams,
You swing me round, in starry beams
Where time melts in seasoned crests
My feet uplifted, my heart in zest.
Open to all the moves you make,
I, like a feather, softly shake---
All the pain that I ever held,
No longer in memory ever cradled.
In your gaze I glimpse to view
The I, I thought, the I, anew.
In feverish surrender I bend aside,
Tapping my feet, over life’s tide.
Events and dreams blur as I
Gaze at You without a sigh,
Nestled in love as You sweep,
Me in Eternity, my heart You keep.
I dream of the wind
blowing through my hair,
that's how I win
the rush of air is heaven sent
cold or warm;
Gods breath is my friend
a power with great might;
that can threaten any town
and tear down any gate,
let a twister form within my soul
the weather is splendiferous
oh, how I love it so,
car windows rolled down;
zipping down the freeway
my hand stuck out;
being forced back by this whim
I inhale the particles
swishing around in the wind,
but I never choke
to the trees
I want to sway and bend.
What there is to offer a help,
and proffer a profile (drugs) and solutions,
to life and its problems and tip,
do I know whether notions?,
one now I found and read and meditate,
that if men and women left this way,
still offer to relocate...?.
I lay on the dry silken grass.
Tall thin reeds hide the sun,
but not the deep blue sky.
I watch the woollen clouds
chasing each other,
feel the soothing breeze,
listen to where the waters meet.
The river flows, a soothing strain,
sonority unrestrained.
Lethargy grips my soul.
I am loathe to move,
I lay supine, quiescent
like a stick in the mud.
Forget the week's travails.
Little did I dream that
just round the bend
you too were resting all alone.
We could have met,
and lay together, hearts entwined.
Would you have crowned my bliss?
Where you really there?
At last I wake and walk around the bend,
only to find that you were gone.
I bend my knee to love, long may she reign
So I may hold her love that's made of gold
I'll touch the depth of souls with love I gain
That gives to me a heart as we grow old
To see eyes gleam so bright with warmth so new
That will etch my name on love's, still of night
We'll ask of time, to stop as we pass through
And find our hearts will glow, as souls take flight
To leave this world of shades as we dream on
With a love that's felt in this world we trust
Where we will know the truth of love we spawn
As love's new birth has born from what is just
I found in you a heart that has no fears
With you, there is a gift of love, for years

Bend in the River
My friend the squirrel sits on a tree branch, peers
though my window in late afternoon to be certain
I’m still alive. I’m preparing to start my journey
down the river as it begins to round its final bend.
Upstream, it still flows past our first house
where I carried each of you in my womb more than
sixty-five years ago. Later, I made sure that none
of us would starve from lack of eggs or milk
from the chickens and goats we kept behind our house
when your Pa was away in World War II.
Now you’re all here to take turns at the word games
I love, though now I lose more than I win. I’ve long
forgiven your hurts as you have mine. You’ve all
come here to hold me close as my end draws near.
I ask my elder son, “Am I one hundred yet?”
“Five months to go,” he replies. “Good enough,” I say.
When I close my eyes, I’ll float down the river.
Once past its bend, I’ll enter the harbor and sea, become
one with eternal waves crashing against the rocky shore.
Let me give you some advice
It is never worth the price
You pay when the vices take over
Leaving friends to duck and cover
From your anger and attacks
Drugs and alcohol will smack
Caring ones out of your way
Every night and every day
Because there is no escaping
Once your on a bad rampaging
Train of terror that will crash
If you do not stop the trash
You've been putting in your body
Its a never ending party
In your life that will destroy
All the love and all the joy
Friends and family try to give
Through a nightmare they relive
Every time your on a roll
More and more out of control
Pushing them away from you
You don't have a single clue
They will not be there one day
Because of actions you display
Up Around The Next Bend, Walking Our Traveling Bones
I long for those days when body was fast, mind was faster
earth was a wonderful place and I was its master.
Reality was what a youthful mind and soul made it out to be
we yearned to have it all and still live our lives free.
What wonderful dreams that fantasy world once held
until the forest was no more, every tree was felled.
Time was the great enemy we thought we could defeat
we found we could not, even if we dared to cheat!
Up around the next bend, walking our traveling bones
no talking around the world on our handy cell phones.
We said our sweet words to pretty gals face to face
I regret sweet times that Time changes did so erase.
I sit here, dreaming of wild youth and my distant past.
Crying out loud- O' why- why the hell couldn't it last!

Love is out there
waiting to be discovered
It usually occurs
when least expected
You can be cruising along nicely
happy with life
when all of a sudden
WHAM!
It hits you between the eyes
We are seldom prepared for it
that indescribable
feeling of joy
A feeling that turns
our whole world
upside down, inside out
We lose all sense of time
about who we are
where we're heading
We start acting like love struck
teenagers again
parading around like peacocks
unabashedly displaying
that age old dance of love
And when our love is returned
we fall into this
indescribable euphoric state
Hoping and praying
that it will never end
Love is out there...
maybe just around the next bend!
M-ake your both knees bend
A-nd say a little prayer;
R-emain humble and meek
I-n tenth morn October.
S-o neither knee won't bend,
S-tay submissive to the Lord;
A-sk Him to let you obey His will and His holy word.
E-ither knee will always bend,
C-alling on the Father's name,
A-llow your heart to open,
L-etting your whole life aim.
A-im to bend your knees,
S-eek the love from the sky;
U-nderneath the wide heaven,
N-either eye won't be shy.
C-ry for help and mercy
I-n telling request to send;
O-pen your mind to modesty,
N-either knee won't bend.
To find love where a fragrant flower bends
And watch the morning sun caress her face
Bathed in amber light her beauty transcends
My love begins to occupy its space
To wake in quiet voice this tender realm
In gentle fashion time, she will erase
I'll feel her lips so warm they overwhelm
And steals my soul to keep in sweet embrace
We'll feel each rush of flames that never burn
When lovers free passion's warmth to explore
And dance in lover's shoes, to always yearn
To feel the bonding kiss forevermore
To see her form, where fragrant flowers bend
To her, I'll give my love until the end

I will bend for you my heart
and ride on it as you should
to prove beyond proof of love
Have fun as you wish with it
Eat life all ways you can do
I will take you to the valleys
the valleys of hidden treasure
to mountain top of sweetness
I will climb with you happily
there all you want you’ll get
I will bend to you my heart
scoop every happiness you see
massage all your desires freely
take home bountiful harvests
then prove my heart is for you
I will play for you the clarinet
For you dance rhythms of love× 2
