Tangled In Helium Balloons

Birds wrapped in sung sun swallows
tangled in helium let off balloons
bursting to confetti on new year's eve
silvery sliding snakes race the rails
against roller- racing take-off gliders
Every father's grudge to my pain
auto-flight lever adjustments
The rotors caught up in balloons,
black and filled with octopus ink
and finally pressure bursts on the fink.

Mama Hiku

down on the floor
hands and feet would lift me ~
i was a plane

blew up balloons
she made me animals ~
i was dazzled

taught me stitches
loved skilled embroidery ~
i was craft sown

drew paper dolls
sketched with clothes to cut out ~
i was prized fun

read tales aloud
fueled my fantasies ~
i was book hooked

spent time with me
shared skills and joys with

I can't bring myself
to read the front page news
with which they string us along
as portrayed by the views
of those with a vested interest
or the rest with an axe to grind
who must think we're all
just deaf dumb and blind
to the truth of which there's more
in the speech balloons
of the funny characters
in the Sunday cartoons
it's all a

fear of mirrors hair balloons and paperclips

There are more phobias than you would believe
Some have names, others are a one-of-a-kind nameless fear
People have fear of werewolves, rats, snakes, and ghosts
Fear of long words, mirrors, hair, balloons, paper clips
Fear of belly buttons, vegetables, windshields, flashlights,
I try to see if there is a fear of baths; yes, there is.

Balloons, a rainbow in the sky,
Float gently, dancing in the breeze,
A burst of color, reaching high,
Balloons, a rainbow in the skies,
With dreams and wishes, they do fly,
A fleeting joy, that soon will cease,

The Amazement of Wonder

Flashing and flickering lights on a large Ferris wheel
Ornately painted horses on an old circus carousel

Brightly colored balloons set free
Branches gracefully swaying on a willow tree

Children happily playing at a park 
Glowing yellow dots from the fireflies in the dark

Kisses from a fuzzy puppy on my face
Shooting stars flying through space

The amazement of wonder shall

Hot Air Balloons

The majesty of hot air balloons

Surpasses the soaring clouds above

Gliding through the air with ease

Like gentle hugs they succumb

Colours unmatched in their scope
 
East to west the sky is filled

With a spectacular medley of music

And moments of amazing spirit

Lost In Flight

One balloon burst in flight,
leaving this child sullen
throughout a hopeless night.

One balloon loosed its tether,
leaving this child to wonder whether
what lands it may fly to,
what storms it may endure,
what people will look up and smile
at the sight brought to them from beyond,
. . . and other things, I supposed.

            loving, wedding, growing
bouquets, blossom, inflatable, bouyant
        deflating, bursting, tethering

A room of colours,
Hanging balls in varying shades,
Tapestry and artistry,
Drapes and balloons,
Hue and beauty,
Balloons floating in the atmosphere, 
Children running with them in pairs and trios,
Elastic bags pumped with air,
Elastic bags pumped with helium,
An aura of colours.

Balloons

Forgotten memories of childhood resurrect,
Layers of colorful events get, together, decked.
Adamant screaming continues till I got them,
They burst, oft, midway though each seemed a precious gem...!

Did I know, then, the meaning of these chic child charms?
Loss of innocence, and their tint tentative norms!
Their feebleness, tragedy of timeless transience,
Spread within the sky of heart gloomy ambiance...?

A boy saw his friends flying  the balloons 
and went to his father crying in saying , " 
Daddy ! It is my birthday too, 
Buy me some balloons " 

It is summer time  my son, 
You were born in Winter time,
Your birthday will be in July 2023. 

He continued to cry , saying"

 Always seeking the sky,
Lighter than air.

The word balloons may stir a pleasant thought 
of happy times- to which they're often brought
to celebrations for so many things-
alone or grouped together by their strings.

to little ones who hold on with their might

Suspended in the air,
Balanced by the whispers of light
Falling from an azure sky,
August warmth from the sun
Rising, drifting, beautiful
Hope gentles the whimsical 
Laughter on the hearts
Those who listen to graceful
Swells of inspiration,
Brilliant rays of exhilaration
Hesitating in the promises
Pouring out from 
Dreams awakened by the distant

On the horizon, hoping
