Wind has long formed ripples,
pebbles too, upon a shallow river bed,
a hand agrasp a wooden oar,
fingers dangling in play,
skipping rounded stones,
a gentle breath exhaled,
a sound so soft and brief,
a water bug lept off a fallen leaf,
rumbling hooves upon the ground,
an earthquake miles away,
a sonic boom high in the sky,
a blast of thunder from a storm,
a raindrop, a teardrop, a dewdrop,
a letter torn to pieces tossed upon the waves,
a sealed bottle with hope in a message,
a piece of litter thrown thoughtlessly,
bows of gliding canoes and great ships,
muscular arms chopping in competition,
cannon balls and falling masts in war,
sailors who stepped off the plank,
melted ores from raging craters,
and kites and balloons with broken string.
In every ripple a partial record of a history,
some great, some small,
much forgotten, but not all. That's all. That's all.

BLOWING BALLOONS
Balloons blown
fully swollen
with dreams, aspiration and ambition
in multi colours of determination.
from very childhood
in frolic playmood.
Balloons of pride galumphed
on conquest and triumph
in youth: Arrogant and aggressive,
devoted- diligent-decisive.
Gas-balloons of gluttony
to surpass monotony
burst sudden
relieving burden.
Huge hued balloons of dormant desires to hold,l¡
being overconfident and perfect bold,
yet unaware of air leakage
through holes of passing age.
Fattened bulged balloons
turned flat shrunk late or soon.
Got fused in senile damage,
Not to inflate ! Beyond usage.
Time is over completing race.
Lived with balloons ! Now leave in grace.

Balloons Contest
Eleventh place
By Anthony Biaanco
vivacious roses pose
in air
oxygen free from the stem
arising like balloons
resurrection of rosies
blushing brides at peak
before their spoiling
before their mistreat
their passionate gowns sweet
wormy stems
await greening apples
Eden’s eschew
the ladies wave bye-bye
preferring the troposphere
fear of flying
ain’t there
angels, palms up,
invite their climb
up golden stairs
heaven is a lighthouse
waves crash on dry and crusty land
petals fall like rain
dowry to the grooms
wives look nothing like the brides
kites tied to home soil
desperate for heaven
a few grooms
smooth
the bed
water the roots
the rose thrives

*Salvidor Dali’s Bleeding Roses
We long for arms to hug us
when nobody is willing to give up
a minute of their invaluable time;
a consoling embrace, a sympathetic look
can bring much empathy to our tears
and replace what others took
from us having stripped us of all pride,
but not of the unceasing will to rise!
Besides love and its fortitude,
everything else appears small;
we must declare it to all
and it will change hearts,
lifting them to another altitude...
becoming floating balloons!
We learned from mother
those incredible strengths
to confront life's strifes
and they became instincts
protecting our inheritance,
guiding us with prudence;
the older we got, the grayer
we saw the strands of our hair.
Besides love and its fortitude,
glory and power are the aspirations
of plebeians who weren't born to govern others
and feed their ego with conceivable anger:
knocking down everybody standing
in their way, woe to the one rebelling,
not complying with their rules of disdained platitude;
and certainly, death can be a sure thing as his fear.
My volatile dreams morphed from mirage
into multicolored balloons,
the frame of my desiccated mind couldn’t hold.
They grew wings of soaring desire,
and floated away in the desert wind.
Through the archway of resplendent rainbow,
they flew to the halcyon horizon,
where the sunset hues pouring
from the painted canvas of the periwinkle sky,
mingled with the colors of my balloons.
They flew far in en echelon design
over the canopy of cotton cloud.
I tried to decipher the meaning of the patterns,
they made with the fabric of my fantasy,
some I could, many I couldn’t.
My balloons drifted away in the wind of despair,
disappeared beyond the edge of winter gloom.
Trudging on the time’s emotive trail,
I waited for them to become twilight tinged birds,
and return to me in spring.

Today, I take this walk
A walk for the cure
I will stand for the ones
Who sees life as a blur
Finding out the the most devastating news
Feeling upset,hurt and confused
A disease that affects the body
It makes you feel strange
Adapting to A new life
Adapting to A new change
Chemotherapy, radiations
So many trials and tribulations
My heart goes out to what you're facing
I'll wear this ribbon ?? with pride
And if you ever need a friend
I'll be right by your side
It takes a lot to understand
That this illness wont get the upper hand
A transformation you did go through
Losing your hair, wearing wigs this is something new
No longer knowing who you are
In our hearts you're still a star
It takes Courage, even when you feel discouraged
It takes faith, even when you cant see clear
You are our Hope
From the climbing of a rope
You are the strength
You are strong
You fought this battle
But not alone
A moment of silence
Goes to the ones who didn't survive
You were great
We'll continue to keep your legacy alive
I salute you, yes I do
No more suffering or pain
We release these balloons
In honor and remembrance of your name
With these two feet
I walk for You
Susan G. Komen and so many others
You are my inspiration
You have did everything its taken
You're amazing this is true
The Illness cant get the best of you
Women oh no ?? this is not just for you
Men are known to get it to
I love you and you have all my respect
Do me a favor everyone please go get checked!!!!!!

Terrace
overlooking
golden fields
wavy wheat hair
poppy red lips
bread and
beauty mix
sloping
to azurin sea
veil of diamonds
sunlit
trembling sea
gown
a feast
autumn borrowed
splendor lit
yellow, red
orange fire
with what beauty
the sun retires
points of light
in darkness glide
fishermen
with catch
arrive
time to open
champagne
bottle
golden, purple
berry flowers
floating in bowl
of chocolate
wine
hidden in
bouquet
golden sparkles
bottle uncorks
rocket fire
purple, red,
yellow orange
spelling:
Happy Birthday
Darling
one to love you
year gone by
one to love you more
yet come
laughter of friends
leaving hands
balloons coloring air
singing and dancing
under the stars
on the terrace
overlooking
the Mediterranean.
It's cloudy here.
Like a stormy sea, with wind howling and waves surfing on the surface.
I see minds blinded by evolution.
Weight on shoulders, depression from screams,
Eyes, falling diamonds
People trapped like fluid in a container with swollen stomachs.
Take me back to those days when life was like a garden with sunshine.
When our frame of mind wasn't lost, and we never had to compare ourselves to everyone on the internet who appeared to be over the moon.
When women didn't have to dwell on make-up or run naked on the street, all because of beauty.
Those times, we would climb the roof and occasionally fall like a thousand bricks.
But we would learn to take off passionately, like a rocket ship, rather than wail.
Then, human minds weren't so degraded by just making money and gaining recognition.
We acquired skills.
Made a rainbow after a storm and focused on still water.
We had giant boxes with real music, and our lives were black and white, which was powerful.
But color appeared in technological flames that enchanted the eyes.
Yes! Life has improved with computers in our hands, but beneath these benefits lies another side of the story.
Our joy eludes our world because of avarice, while we bathe ourselves in insomnia and addiction that are nugatory.
Vampires attack mockingbirds from the sky for moving dirt.
Earthly entities take things for granted.
like broken balloons to fine wine
Now, youths look down their noses and sow their wild oats due to our little foxes and darkness.
Our social interactions are like hitting the hay daily with no utterance.
Yep, even the smallest prefers punching an iPad to pouring hearts on the dining table.
Reminisce deeply.
I probably am the only one in the Big Apple to admit,
" The bigger the city, the lonelier one feels! "
Skyscrapers are modern monuments built against a foggy sky;
many feel lonely and bored in them, and the irony is that to rent
or buy luxurious suites is prohibitive to people who struggle
to survive, only a Trump or a Gates can afford them! Is their affluenza
effecting you? Be real: you can't have any of them, unless you hold
that lucky Lotto or Mega ticket! My advice is to keep on living
as usual and let dreams of wealth glide you by as puppet balloons
in a Thanksgiving Parade! Go to Central Park and take a stroll,
or try ice-skating...it's fun! There are a thousands of things
to do in Manhattan! Go to see a Broadway Musical or have dinner
at The Tavern On the Green with friends who are as bored as you!
No! Don't sit on that sofa and watch movies on demand!
Yes, be good to yourself....get out and enjoy life! Laugh! Run! Scream!
Do anything and everything! Have the audacity to challenge and win!
Let everyone know that are alive regardless of your social status:
money can offer lots of expensive things most of us
can't even imagine in a million of years! Search for
the simpler things that are more fun and cost almost nothing!
