invocations
not as desires
but as pulsations
heart silently aspires
echo as reverberations
manifesting as spirit’s fires

surfing the very edge of space
where linear time slows down
intent births a mist of grace
a calm in which we drown
beginnings we retrace
before touchdown

Yes, Justice aspires to be blind,
But Cupid is not far behind.
His aim is so loose,
A moose and a goose
Once found that their stars were aligned.

Dreamer and the dreamed

The dream that a dreamer dreams is his whim
as the dreamer the one he dreamed is him
both the hero and the rival in a play
he can break the trance even overly grim.

Manifestation of our suppressed desires
the soul to a realm secretly aspires
be it an illusion or a fantasy
when the mind with the spirit conspires.

Illusion is a reality that’ll never be
illusion will always an illusion be
dream can manifest it into reality
and lets us our quiescent thoughts to see.

YOU CURED MY LUSTS

What a beaut!
My mind silently, hopefully aspires,
As you made me terribly perspire,
I am now having troubles to respire.

What a healing!
As my heart cried for your uncommon love,
I was healed by the briefs of your laughs,
All along my eyes were covered with sloughs.

What a beauty!
My eyes instantly exclaimed,
Mine surely one of the many acclaims,
Going, by what your gestures proclaimed.

What a feeling!
As you made your love available for me to trust,
You instantly cured me of my past lusts,
Your love would have been the most painful I lost.

The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain. - Dolly Parton

Weeping, like a willows graceful waft, pleasing
Even the heart will melt in the doubtful breeze,
Moving calmly through the night, gently teasing

Weeping, like the leaves who fall upon their knees,
Echoed by souls poised in resilient prayers,
Even the heart will melt in the doubtful breeze,

Weeping, with tears who tempting nature compares,
Silent, each raindrop aspires to remember
Echoed by souls poised in resilient prayers,

Weeping, steady hearts are blessed by November,
Lightest drizzle reveals what psalms are singing,
Silent, each raindrop aspires to remember

Weeping, famous hush rainfall shall be bringing
Past the sprinkle of wisdom thru the ages
Lightest drizzle reveals what psalms are singing

Rainfall grieves as it drenches our heart’s pages
Weeping, like a willows graceful waft, pleasing
Past the sprinkle of wisdom thru the ages
Moving calmly through the night, gently teasing

                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mistakes stain death
we cannot deny our heritage
some may address an illness
whilst considering restraints
those words are not theirs
It must be your heart's iron.
everybody stumbles and falls
everyone aspires and fails
resurrection is the delight of life
happening on several occasions
when you endure an injury or fall
as a phoenix rising from a dormant volcano.
With a few steps forward
and a step back
evolution is ongoing
what demonstrates resilience
Inner confidence and self-worth
every effort you put in has an impact
even yet, we often stumble.
Look ahead to the horizon
remember your proximity
then yesterday or earlier.
Retain the flame blazing
It is a fact that will endure
would you stumble tomorrow
it does not define your worth
a tale of remarkable achievements.
Heart of Desire
Countless desires breed in my heart,
Countless aspirations take wing
from the soul of my mind;
Each aspiration has a spirit of its own
Each aspiration rides on
the wings of dream raring to soar
Each aspiration yearns to traverse
the heavens and seek its abode,
Each desire demands
the price of a lifetime
Each desire needs to be
nourished with the sap of life
Each desire yearns to be
brought to fruition—
	Tearing the heavens asunder
	Parching the oceans dry
	Veering a staid traveler astray,
Yet, the heart aspires in vain
All its longings futile
All its efforts unavailing…
	Each desire takes my breath away!
The Hope of the Hicks
The last best hope, the redneck pope the hicks
are counting on, won’t need his travel kit
when he’s on Ricker’s Island. Gavel it!
He orders bedroom windows made of bricks:
aspires to nothing higher than Stevie Nix.
The break-up (that’s why Vaclav Havel quit)
–  how cross is Marjorie, how cavil-fit –
is something he would engineer for kicks,
so put him where he can’t mishandle chicks.
He screwed it all. His team unravel, knit:
on Epstein’s isle, he did the Savile bit.
With Kavanaugh and J.D. Vance his picks,
The Hollow Man is running out of tricks.
There’s only one thing left – the Gravel Pit!
(I’m penniless: I have no hint of loot.
I fear no a-hole’s defamation suit.)
Premium MemberSilence of the Soul
Words,
too many words,
superfluous and useless.
They bind you in a swirling vortex,
drown you in inconsequential thoughtlessness.
Oh for a few moments of supreme silence,
in some secluded space,
where you might not even hear
the wayward wind comes and goes.
A quiet nook, devoid of insane noise,
You then can walk with God.
For even when He became man,
He looked for silent places,
high up on the lofty mountain tops.
So my sinful superficial soul aspires
for that empty sound of the suburb soul,
a liveable lullaby of paradoxical peace,
where the warring world is shut out
There I will find a small cosy corner
where I can meet and talk to God,
my rendezvous with my beloved Lord.
Ability And Desire
Miracle Man
3/15/2024
When in his youth he was filled with desires,
now sometimes his age causes him to digress.
 To do youthful things he no longer aspires,
but today his thoughts are difficult to express.
He was big in sports, and liked to hunt and fish,
a military career he should have been eschewing.
Now he visits his past able only to wish,
while he was away missing years were accruing.
Fragile resolve aspires
to capture the residual rainbow,
weaves the lattice of life
with spectral ribbons,
turns into a self-destructive
psychosis syndrome
that fails to fling
the insane illusion
in the cloud of dreams,
for it has hypnotic leverage
on the mind,
mangled by
s   t   o   r   m.
Wedged by the splitting bevel
of slashing time,
the frail fragments of failure
get lacerated from life,
scatter on the path
to the rainbow,
yet untraveled,
meanders marooned
in debris of derelict dreams,
disappear down the deep sinkhole
of dusky oblivion.
In lucent mystique mind,
transmuting thoughts
flash on
ebony emotions.
Absolved of self-qualm
psychic crystal sparkles
in sense stars’ aurora flare,
traces the prime trajectory
from the cosmic soul’s
nebulous abyss,
within.
In the mesmeric meadow
of the inner topography,
seraphic shadows dance mystified
with gorgeous sequined glitter
of the sensuous stardust
in the tune of
buoyant bliss.
The discernment mindscape
makes the montage
of the existential rainbow,
d  i  s  m  a  n  t  l  e  d.
("Winter Tree", 2023, original encaustic)
Celebrating White Supremacy
As the world turns….
ever faster and more wobblier
it’s hard to go a day
without hearing some reference to ‘White Supremacy.’
Of course it’s a bad thing, right?
Sure it is, until you think what it really is.
I look around; snow deep outside
but here indoors I’m warm
no wind or snow,
a steady even moderate clime instead,
not to mention safe and secure
with all the comforts of stove and frig
running water and electric light
and, not least, Wi-Fi!
And then, don’t forget,
there’s that trusty internal combustion engine vehicle
waiting outside that I can hop in
to go to town, to get the mail and more gas,
more jeans or nylon jackets or plastic bags,
and, of course, more groceries, like pizza and coffee!
The list just goes on and on,
as I write in miraculous digital bytes
with auto-correct to tell me how I’m doing
with the ever pesky English spelling and grammar,
and I’m left in awe
wondering how and why
everyone else isn’t celebrating
the fruits of this white supremacy
the whole world now enjoys
or at least aspires to...
Premium MemberLearning to Persevere
Learning to play piano again
I feel like a toddler learning how to walk
My fingers fumble and like a sin
A wrong note yells at the air
The note hangs choking melodies
My brain aspires to create
Oh how I miss my youthful fingertips
That were nimble flexible and accurate
Now nerve damage curves my abilities
And gasp I must ignore reading music
And adore grasping sound with ear
I am frustrated but of good cheer
For if a famed musician can not see
Yet plays beautifully I must not be weak
If a musician who becomes deaf
Still has the skill to work treble clef
I too must persevere and do well
Ancestors demand this of me
You got me
I was weak it's true
A terrene bond
By tacky glue
Too worldly;
Thoughts and self-desires
Is just not how my
Soul aspires
Hindsight hurts
I disappoint
Myself
Alignment out of joint
Yet, here I stand
The day is fresh..
No longer caught
In soulful mesh
Of thoughts so dark
Though light is small
I awake to hunger
For right and tall
So then, replace
Such mystic hope..
A little faith
Throws me a rope
The valley walk
Must surely end
Return to be
Eternal friend
