The boy stood on the burning deck
arms akimbo legs a'brace
while cannon balls rolled above and beyond
'twas the greatest challenge he had yet to face
as pouring oil on troubled waters
they who only stand and wait also serve
to post o’er ocean without rest
don't receive all they deserve
and crying, “O Captain, my Captain,
an order's sorely needed,
should I stay

MY ARMS

Thinking about my arms always brings a smile to my face
How they’re able to open wide and welcome others into their embrace.

How every time they open they seem to make me grow…
How they work the same when someone is feeling joy 
as when they’re filled with woe.

How when joy enters a person’s life…

but shallow 
in my stomach

for my bones to carry

than the girl
who told me that
she would rather die

but not redeeming

Come on big men of the world
You that owe the power
You have already had much money
To move on soldiers
You have already had much gold
To feel stronger
You have already had luxury palaces
To live comfortably safer in
And fields, ground, soil, trees,
Rivers, lakes and seas.

You have taken in everything your eyes can see to the horizon.

But do you

When the arms weave white nights

when the arms weave white nights,

caressing your eyelids,

only dreams know how to come out dry from the rain,

like butterflies,

spreading their wings to stop the drops,

and the dew, humble servant

washes your feet with clover honey

to grow wings, melt the wax on the altar, and

plant basil in your chest,

let us float like the wind on swaying water
