There she was, a youthful beauty,
scantily dressed for show,
drawing much attention,
for reasons she would know.
I acknowledge her politely
as we pass by in the aisle,
I nod my head in recognition
followed by a smile.
I know that she does see me
close proximity as we pass,
she shoots a glance, seems thru me,
as if I'm made of glass.
My younger days, a long time past
of that, I sure do know,
back in the day I would engage
starting with hello.
Realistically, with present sight
where age becomes the barrier,
we'll pass each other, only,
as ships do in the night.

And be jailed for over a decade each
Where is the reality.? What would such
Teach.?
Whining, is age appropriate,
With wrinkles - both newborns and aged.
Boo-hoos - in cradle; before grave.
The old straitened; babes’ swaddled.

A nation divided, its fabric ripped to shreds
Like a clipper ship’s sails in a hurricane
Its rudder wrenched from its stern
Leaving its course to the mercy of its abuser
The fate of its crew dependent on its strength
And its ability to weather the storm
To once again sail proudly and majestically
Over the treacherous seas of public opinion.

Today, tomorrow—sunrise, sunset;
Would it make a difference?
I love you all the time.”
In moments, circumstances change lives,
But I will always be there for you
(I am more than flesh—cold and indifferent).
At your side: in pain, in birth,
In joy, and happiness; unto death.
My love for you exceeds these boundaries.
