All My Adventures

     Though I traveled the world 
       I never did find
     aught but vacuous
       women and wine

     Distant shores 
       promised gold
   

Aglow

You may missed it, but you are
incandescently alive; a shooting star
at dusk-colored sky. Falling

into the atmosphere, first contact of
fresh air. Friction
wears you armor in blazing flame, highlight—
In the star-sown space, you
a knight descending into this earth
on your loyal mount that is
you, and stardust from unnamed planets
that you once drifted among
aimlessly—until inevitably gravity
from this earth hooked

Treasures

touch of a friend when ill
thoughts of past adventures
tender moments of love
trusting beyond knowing
times my compassion won
two lives becoming one
triumph through tragedy

A SERIES OF ADVENTURES

Anyone who sees life as a series of adventures
will find themselves constantly grinning
because they know when one adventure comes to and end
a new one is beginning.

GIVEN SO FREE

Darl! Let's go to Manhattan beach,
There we can catch some fish,
Then you'll cook a nice dish,
That we'll eat under the Beech.

This time, if Jennifer goes, 
She'll want to eat a lot of Mangoes,
Then we'll send some by cargoes,
Like we did when we were on hol's in Fargo.

Night Dreams

In the quiet slipstream of night,  
where thoughts unfurl like tendrils of smoke,  
some dismiss dreams as mere echoes—  
brain farts, they jest,  
leftover gas from our wakeful hours.

But dreams stretch beyond the scraps  
of unprocessed thoughts and muted emotions.  
They are more,  
extensions of our daylit drama,

First Kiss

Her lips were firmly planted on mine
It is a moment I will cherish for all time
Remembering back to my first kiss thinking this would be the girl I would marry
I could tell she was the one when she gave her books to carry

In the depths of the laundry pile, where chaos reigns supreme,
Lies the mystery of the missing sock, a perplexing, absurd scheme.

Adventures Of Atek

Once in Sikkim a ranch owner,
Employed young Atek as a herder.
Who dedicatedly looked after the animals, 
In a pure place where no one travels.
He loved to play his melodious flute,
Made of the Lepcha bamboo shoot.
He played aplenty tunes forlorn,
Every night and every morn.
A dusk he played the flute in drear,
Jyamphi Moong appeared from no where.

Thankful For Adventures

May we be blessed to acknowledge all the wonders in our life
that have, for us, thus far accrued…
and to begin each day with a word of thanks…
and thoughts of gratitude.

Today I’m thankful for adventures…
for the Creators who designed them
and for also designing in us
the ability to find them

10 Years Later: Still the Same

As we head out of the mountains….far ahead of the winter snow…
I’m revisiting of a poem I wrote at a similar time and place…exactly 10 years ago:

July
July saw the end of school, the kids were winding down,
