I sought Him in the twinkling eyes
Of a kind and gentle soul
One who showed their insight
Into whispers of faith and hope
One who shared their joy
Their warmth, gentleness and courage
One who listened to the yearning
For a vibrant love who appreciated
The light that heaven sent
I sought Him in the warmth
Of an empty bottle where pain lurked
There amid the shiny laughter
Bidding adieu to the anticipation
The expectation of a friend who would be
Like a brother, so sure and wise,
He would look me in the eyes and smile
Promising that with the drinking
There would be the sincere inkling
Of music that would surprise
With its inspirational voice, its life
I sought Him in the thrills
The excitement of dreams coming true
Bringing confidence and promise
Felt by the heart who was optimistic
Believing that these adventures
Could rouse the heart from its tranquility
Bring alive the assurance of forever
Where He left my heart’s yearning to believe
He would be found when I would seek
With all my heart, mind and spirit
With everything that I could feel
I sought Him in the sadness
Where I felt like there was madness
Through the shadows of doubt and pain
Amid the sorrows that life would bring
In the worries, regrets and disappointments
Where I never had thought to look before
It was there that I discovered more
Love than I had ever hoped for
More peace than my mind could imagine
More comfort that I had ever known
I sought Him during the good times
But found Him when I was at my worst
It was there, amid prayers for relief
That I discovered His kindness, His peace
The way He would silence the screams
Of a pain that longed to destroy me
It was there, in the worst, when I found
The answer to my prayers, my hunger
For a God who is louder than thunder
He brings grace to the one who is in need
Frees the spirit from its sin and disbelief
Reminds us that He shares the opportunity
To listen to His advice, overcome our strife
And learn to really live and grow through this life!
This God is a God of peace
And He fulfills my every need!
All I had to do was believe!
(A Marriage of Poems)
A single glance is an expression enough
with eyes dotted with its punctual punctuation.
A sigh deep enough in loves' trough
that a trance can turn it blue,
if only a beloved statuesque-
emotion carved cold and true.
Coupled in that in, that love is
in,
ward to toast the cold of emptiness.
To thwart a lonely abyss,
by injection-fjord, Nile, Oasis.
A place inside, hides in love
a place we'd share,
if life breaks in shard
antithesis baring teeth-
that puzzle the lost end-pieces.
So do we be it, as love as it does.
I know the first way,- is honey to my lips;.
My lover has no answer that is removed of this.
No-answer can have any relevance,
be cause we revel unto it's mysterious madness,
roil in the mud of it's effervescence.
There a love is an adventures trove.
One which I must for now only mentally tear,
among Avalon's Mists.
But if no longer the future,
where do I, we go from here?
Has this way known as far;
It has its
sounding board-Shofar in Scale
of Angelic Harpsichord
soothing sorts upon a forlorn Star..
So tell me of more !,
and can I have
its keepsake recollection ?
of my dreams refection,
reflect, deflect, defect for now,
for twice at once my Spirit be.
So that I have a link to my Avalon Witch.
know I`'ll have a new name
in this dark world sea,
till what your soul feels to me.
Is a buoy to a squall,
cool shade on an arid beach.
Your covering, covers everything, but what The Lord
doth to us both bring-in His Mystery,
Magesty.
O Blanketed Mirth,
your security-warns of Spring,
on a coldest winter day you feeds me
by magical Autumnal Whirlwind of otherworld
in Cacophony.
Rebirthed, rich and smokey, stirring,
brewing alchemy.
Astral and Earthy, beginning of a journey.
A canopy at our feet
Light shines on leaves of rose petal
on a cobblestone street.
To give, love -and hope at tease in play.
O but know when a night?is as stark
as this as dark as this.
Then love, you
have your purpose s way.
For in you, my mind can only live the dreams of day.
Expecting your expectant pregnancy.
Deal to me your Trefoil, Diamond of Heart in Spades.
Dig me out of Worldly grave.
Deliver me from solitary singularity.
Jacqueline, my mother . . .
always with a smile and a twinkle,
with happiness, joyfulness and blissfulness.
Born poor, poverty-stricken, moneyless, penniless,
she left shantytown far behind, the slum that was home;
fell in love, married young and was with child so very young,
her sadness was buried deep, she held it within her broken heart.
Jacqueline, my mother . . .
We took great pleasure in summer adventures,
mother always said she had a great sense of direction;
but mostly we were lost, gone astray and hopelessly adrift,
so stumbling upon a quaint country town was usually the result.
Jacqueline, my mother . . .
Her family was her joy and mother was her job,
we loved mom, mommy, mama who was so kind to us;
so caring, warm, tender, gentle, devoted, protecting her kids,
and she taught us to be adventurous and not be afraid to get lost.
Jacqueline, my mother . . .
always with a smile and a twinkle,
with happiness, joyfulness and blissfulness.

First Place
Beneath the warm sunshine’s glow and moon’s soft silver light
We vigorously hiked through countless trails and rugged peaks
We walked for miles at a time throughout the day and into the night
Your playful manner so unique and your joyful howl was all we’d seek
A squeaky toy or ball would occasionally catch your eye
Seeing your fluffy coat with a beautiful silken gleam
Watching you energetically play was boundless joy you’d supply
Your fur softer than anything we’ve ever felt or seen
At night you'd jump up and sprawl out across our bed
Your tail wagging a few more times as we scratched your ears
Dreams of the day’s fun-filled adventures filling your head
We were by your side to pet you if fireworks awakened you in fear
You were a guardian so fierce and would stand your ground
But life cast a dark shadow and suddenly you grew so weak
Sometimes battles blindside us when they come around
This fight was too tough for us and the climb far too steep
Cancer unexpectedly and abruptly stole your vibrant flame
Now we walk these lonely trails without you feeling alone
One thing is certain our love for you will never wane
Each step we take your spirit is in the surrounding stone
You were larger than life and missing you is understated
A loyal friend who left well before his time was due
Even though the ending was bitter and the day ill-fated
We will forever miss and cherish the time we had with you
My neighbor, right next door, is an odd lady,
she is very old, sweet but seems quite lonely.
I am often invited for tea and stale cookies,
who is this neighbor that tells me rambling stories.
As I sit, sipping tea from a tiny cup and listen,
unsure if her adventures are true or just fiction.
There are times I admit, when I hear her door,
that I run, leap and gallop to mine, I just soar.
I close the door and pray there will be no knock,
once when I looked, she had left me a wilted hollyhock.

Second Place
Under the summer sky, in the simmering golden sun, my mind dances among the stars,
Where memories melt into plays of light, dreams, and burning longings,
On beaches where sand is a golden carpet, and the sea sings its eternal song,
I can still feel the waves touching my feet, telling tales of unforgettable times.
The salty air is a fragrance of the past, bringing shivers of forgotten adventures,
While tanned skin glows like a copper garment under the sun,
Memories flow like rivers of light, revealing desires that haven’t faded,
In the depth of my thoughts, I float, in the webs of summer, my senses vibrate.
The summer’s simmer is a spell that wraps the soul in its mantle of warmth,
While sandals burn as a testament of days filled with passion,
Time stops under the spell of summer, and feet run on magical sands,
Leaving behind a trail of stars, like an imprint on the sky of eternal memories.
In this endless flow of thoughts and dreams, I let myself be carried by the waves,
Contemplating the mystery of summer, a season that lives like an unwritten poem within me,
Drawing on the sky of my soul constellations of desires and memories,
A symphony of light and shadow, where magic and melancholy intertwine.
Every mid nights I stay partially awake..
Haunted by schizophrenic nightmares,
Detached from conscience,
Convulsed by delusions..
"Serpentine spirit" swings me into unimaginable
adventures and tries paralysing me..
I heard a serpent would come
to prick us with venom only if we commit any sin..
But I haven't committed any..? i cogitate..!!
Then, later I verbally query before it could strike me..
To my astonishment I hear some charming music
behind the woods..
Someone comes to protect me
by attempting to rip the fangs of spirits..
While I observe them keen,
dancing to the music being heard..
I understand something..
The fierce movements performed are in fact
to defend themselves..
I intricately watch without taking off my eyes
as they hiss.. and hiss..and hiss..
After some time I voluntarily plunge myself
to wriggle &dance falling on the floor for the pitch and rhythm..
Deep down i perceive strange feelings,
Assuming to be connected with these magical spirits.
Goes on this rhythmic cavort..
as I dwell and sway in the hallucinations untill dawn..
I would call this to be supramundane..
which exquisitely flourishes in my daily nights.

Cronus would never be defeated, or so he thought.
Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon a lesson taught.
Zeus took the sky, Hades the underworld, Poseidon the sea.
Poseidon became father of floods, hurricanes, storms, all three.
He somehow also grabbed up horses, which seems a stretch.
But this is Greek mythology, thus a teensy bit of a far-fetch.
The Romans borrowed the legend, renaming him Neptune.
They threw in some extra ideas, waxing and waning of the moon.
Atlantis was the island of Poseidon’s thoughts and his domain.
He annihilated his enemies, to his brother Zeus he was a pain.
Hades hid in the underworld, not a part of the competition.
Homeric hymn of Poseidon’s adventures was a wonderful rendition.
If you hear the horsemen coming from the storms above
Get out of the way quickly, for it is Poseidon’s love.
He takes no prisoners, still furious about the blinding of his son.
Lightning is Odysseus, his most hated foe, enemy number one.
Naivete' gets in the way of what can go wrong.
Youth have a way of dancing to every love song.
In early years I had no fears, daughter then a wife
but rarely does everything go as we planned in life.
'Life's a Dance' and experiences teach us as we go
from trusting souls to questioning adults as we grow.
Sometimes we follow and there are times when we lead.
Sometimes love ends in heartache. That's when we bleed.
In those early years there wasn't much that I feared
and dread was never a word that I revered.
When my singing stopped and music ended in sorrow
I didn't give up on hope, for there's always tomorrow.
******************
So, I continued to 'Dream On' with hopes I still had,
trying to remember the good times and forget the bad.
I had to put the past behind because it was gone.
How quickly it went by like time between dusk and dawn.
Isn't that the way life collects the dues its owed.
When kissed, each Prince Charming turned out to be a toad.
I grew weary pretending to be someone I was not.
So, I left and didn't look back like the wife of Lot.
I wrote of my life's adventures on many parchment pages~
my legacy or a comedy of errors acted upon life's stages.
Not yet, has the final curtain been drawn on my career
for in these autumnal years another song plays in my ear.
********************
I got tired of waiting for life to be the happy place
where I once smiled, before frowns covered my face
so, at last I found the courage to set myself free
and started singing about the things I liked about me.
I stopped wailing the blues in these glorious days
and making up all kinds of alibis and trivial ways
to worry about things, so I'm living in the present.
My attitude is carefree, and each day is pleasant.
'Living in the Moment' leaves no room for expectations.
I enjoy relationships and sometimes give in to temptations.
The life I thought would be mine, at last I am living
and I discovered there really is much more joy in giving.
If you had a 3 song Playlist about your life, what would they be and why?

2. 'Dream On' by Aerosmith.
3.'Living in the Moment' by Jason Mraz
BLACK MONA LISA
Art renaissance, a masterpiece did appear,
A captivating portrait, both bold and sincere.
Splintering ebony grace, a figure so rare,
The Black Mona Lisa, with brown eyes and flair.
Her visage, a canvas of shadows silent night,
A drapery of contrast, a mesmerizing sight.
Her ebony skin, like a moonlit night's kiss,
Radiates elegance, impossible to dismiss.
Her brown eyes are windows to her soul,
They hold mysteries, stories we'd love to know.¹°
With depth and warmth, they capture the gaze,
Inviting the stare of all who occupy her space,
They look upon her and are undoubtedly amazed.
Some criticise this rarity yet she remains unfazed.
In a world where beauty adheres to a mold,
The Black Mona Lisa breaks free from the old.
This isn't the archaic Mona Lisa you all knew.
It's a rare painting, an artwork that pins your view.
For within her lies a narrative profound,
Such as resilience, triumphs, adventures unbound.²°
With each stroke of the brush, colours disperse.
Her existence, a testament to beauty diverse,
A celebration of uniqueness, a universe to traverse.
With her dark beauty & brown eyes that gleams,
She reminds us that art is more than it seems.²5
