NB: This is purely my own reaction to eating flies. I understand it’s quite the delicacy to some. To each his own ... :)

Dear You

Dear you,
yes, you!
Admittedly
you've shaken my serenity
even challenged my equanimity.

Dear you,
yes, you!
Gradually
dragged me into your life's acerbity
fooled by that fabricated story.

Dear you,
yes, you!
Inevitably
to the quick im sliced
overt rudeness I've aganized.

Dear you,
yes, you!
Ironically
felt my heart's truly grateful,
in no darn way be in that sphere so boorish full.

Lcd

Part of the denominator,
extraordinary matters level off
and find the lowest trough.
The so-called experts
joust with the pretenders,
and they are wrestling still.

In days of yore the Seer
would proclaim the truth,
accepted by the old, the youth,
whereas for now we do His will.
Are we shackled, are we freer,
hungrily our mouths to fill?

Time will not stand for surety,
the prophet's exhortations gone to dust,
while totems crumble, metals turn to rust,
we try to compromise, a bitter pill
for those who crave acerbity
and swear our bliss to spill.

Were we to strike good earth,
avoid all roiling undulation,
seek and hold a firm foundation,
and ascend the highest hill,
then would excellence be realized for what it's worth,
and our hopes and dreams we would fulfill.

Through Reflection

Mirror's image portrays purity through reflection
yet it does not cast acerbity through reflection.

When looking into depths of self, what is it you see?
From my own eyes darkness hides beauty through reflection.

Near sunset the lake's surface almost appears glass-like
as sky's depths mirror eternity through reflection.

As darkness surrounds me, so do memories of you,
my mind struggles to find sympathy through reflection!

Pain of death lingers, yet i cannot forge rejection
these tears I cry...hide my self pity through reflection.

If time could have given you another chance at life
then would there have been more apathy through reflection?

I search within my troubled mind for answers unfound...
through life's scars can one find sanity through reflection?

Your picture, my image, blend together as one
partly through my memory, partly through reflection.

Dad, Let Go

In all my life
I’ve never spent a full day with you
Dad, the man I know and love
Split in two

I’m proud to call you my father
For any man to model
But only half because the other half
Can’t let go of the bottle

Your different dad
When your drinking or not
Don’t deny your problem
You miserable sot

A 12-pack isn’t normal
Not everyday or so
Grow up, act your age
And just let go

Because we love you dad
We always have and will
But your drinking blasts a hole in me
With nothing to fill

When you ask me for more
I am hopeless to your avidity
But give-in and guide you towards death
For fear of acerbity

As I mature into manhood
I fear that you won’t see the day
I graduate, get married, or start my family
So affirm a different substance for your thirst to allay

I have no shame on my knees to plead
Because we are kin, it’s your blood I bleed
You must end this putrid deed
So Dad, please just let go of the mead

A Prayer To Jesus

Speak to me lord and direct me
Carry me to the mountain high
Far from the city of destruction
Where I can lay on my knees
And bathe in your glorious fountain

Give me strength, Lord Jesus
Tighten my earthly shoulders Lord
Grease my joints, oh dear Christ
Help me stand
For me to live is Christ and for me to die is gain

Wipe my heart with your holy water
Purify me Lord, from any acerbity inwards hidden
Grant my soul humility, oh father
Grant me love and divine joy, my savior
Protect me from the acidulous activities of this cruel world

Extricate me from the evil deeds of the world
Set me free from any chains of the evil one
Fill me with light and strength
Radiate through me your abundant joy
Use me to enlighten the unrighteous of your grace
Thank you Jesus, for answered prayer. Amen

A Venomous Viper

Poca à poca you crawled
I stood dumb as you fouled
The golden rules
Only heaven knows
Why I stood still and froze
As you sneered and spat
Your rancorous venom all over the place

You forced your way in
Pushed and pushed
Till everyone stepped aside for you
Only for us to be entrapped
In your labyrinthine world of shame
Now you tightened corners of your web
Got victims
Smashed the heads of cronies together
And spat the spiteful venom on their hearts
Oh, to us it tasted like fresh honey
Only for us to remember it was too late
For us to regurgitate

Oh how my head hated
To see my heart find joy
In that cryptic ignominious world
Imprisoned with acerbity
As we watched your affected smile
Crack up in drops of laughter
We egged ourselves on
Hoping your random peccadilloes
Would not cause anymore pain
For you to gain

Oh how thankful I am
To myself, my head in particular
To get you to drink your own juice
How relieving for me it is
To se you languish in endless pain
May the nemesis of your sins
Be everlasting
Till you are divinely purged clean
By the Almighty Himself.
