OR BLANK VERSE 12 TO 20 LINES MAXIMUM
90% OF THOSE WHO THINK THEY WRITE AN ENGLISH SONNET OR BLANK VERSE ARE TOTALLY INCORRECT AND THE EXAMPLES ON THE SOUP ARE THE SAME AS A RESULT. AN ENGLISH/SHAKESPEAREAN SONNET IS IAMBIC PENTAMETER WITH PERHAPS A COUPLE EXCEPTIONS FOR ARTISTIC IMPRESSION---10 SYLLABLES DOES NOT CONSTITUTE METER---NEVER HAS, NEVER WILL. THE SAME GOES FOR BLANK VERSE WHICH MEANS MUCH MORE THAN UNRHYMED LINES---STUDY IT. Poems should be in English. Poems translated from other languages are not eligible, unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.
