Welcome to my page!

I am a man of many interests - TOO many, I think, lol - and because of that I never gave writing the attention I should have when I was young. I started writing poetry in December of 2016, and joined Poetry Soup at the same time. I am currently working on an R&B/Soul album for a major label, so, as has usually been the case, poetry does not get the time I'd like to give it, (though I plan to change that in the future, and write a book-or-two, a sci-fi novel and an autobiography) ...

I like to incorporate classic styles and phrasing into a modern frame when I write poetry, and try to cover a wide range of genres, but I enjoy the darkly sensual the most, despite its limited audience. I hope you'll give my rather unusual style a chance, read a piece-or-two, and leave a comment, if you'd be so kind. I also hope you'll visit my music web site as well, (at the following address under my moniker "Bahku") - mostly (very) old recordings there, but also a snippet of the first single coming, and more new stuff soon!

Thanks for stopping by my page - blessings!

Thank You, Soupers

Copper Scorpion ~ EXPLORE! Thank You!!! | Fractal created wi… | Flickr

Just a note to thank YOU, my fellow 'soupers' and friends (and admins), for your encouragement, kindly comments and valued friendship over these three-plus years at PS ...

I will be winding down my involvement considerably from now on. I will still be writing for the joy of it (when I can) and entering or running a contest here-and-there, but I will not be the regular fixture that I've been in the past ...

Sharing the reasons would not be constructive in any way, so I will keep them to myself, and let those beasts remain silent ...

I love you all, and I'm honored to know such an amazing group of caring souls and talented poets - you have been the coursing of my blood, the thrumming of my poetic heart, and the salt of my marrow ...

Blessings, all. <3

Greg, I think you know you've been one of the very special poets to me here at Soup. Your comments have been very encouraging, for I know you take time to get to the core of the poetry and your input is so insightful. Your poetry is matchless in quality and diversity and I hope you keep it posted, for I come back to the well often for inspiration. I've learned much from you. I value your high esteem for the more traditional aspects of poetry; meter, rhyme, form, layering, well-placed ambiguity, and an expansive lexicon. Thank you for all the support, I will miss that most of all. Blessings on your way, my friend ~ John

Thank you SO much to those who took a moment to wish me well here ... it's nice to know that there are some who still value my friendship and my writing. My absence won't leave a ripple in the surface of The Soup, but you priceless folks will always be dear to me. I guess I have somehow put off quite a few, but I hope you know that I tried to be a positive addition here, and tried to be kind to everyone. Blessings to you for taking the time to comment here ... much love and respect, my fellow poets and precious friends! <3

Greg, I second John's and Robert's comments here; I am not a frequent blog reader, so am late to your send off. Looking forward to hearing your music.

So very well said. I myself, suspect that there would be at least triple if not more comments made were it not true that many , many poets here do not care to read the blogs, and many read but care not to join in regardless the subject. Myself, I have benefited tremendously from reading Greg's amazing poetry and our friendship. Always wishing my friend the best and God's blessings.

As respite from constant vicissitudes of this evil world- Space, Solitude and Time are oft healing balms to seek for oft man's inhumanity and greed cast pains as spears hurled at those of talent, deeper understanding in a poetic peak. When distance and other thoughts are the needed saving grace sail upon calmer waters, in peace, as harmony is not a race. Wishing you God's speed and a renewal of your excellent writings my friend. Yes, more solitude helps clear the chaos; as Thoreau once said "I'd rather sit on a pumpkin all by myself than be crowded on a velvet cushion".

Dear Greg, being a part of a community of poets for over 10 years. (Admin for 6- I still am) New site name and format, same poets. I have no idea what it's like to be away- to truly be away. You will be missed my dear friend. Keep your ink flowing, as much as you can. You and your thoughts are appreciated. Your poetry is amazing!! Many wonderful blessings to you. ~ Brandy

My great friend, I am relieved to find that you will only be dialing back a bit instead of leaving entirely. One must do as one deems best in life, as poets in writing. Certainly would be a massive loss to us if you had chosen to leave entirely. A blessing that you chose wisely and we benefit from that thoughtful, and most prudent judgement. God bless...

Greg, you have an incredible talent for writing and happy that you will continue to be doing that and doing an occasional contest and entering contests sometimes. All poets, writers, artists need a break or a change at times. Stay in touch_Constance
