Welcome to my page!

I am a man of many interests - TOO many, I think, lol - and because of that I never gave writing the attention I should have when I was young. I started writing poetry in December of 2016, and joined Poetry Soup at the same time. I am currently working on an R&B/Soul album for a major label, so, as has usually been the case, poetry does not get the time I'd like to give it, (though I plan to change that in the future, and write a book-or-two, a sci-fi novel and an autobiography) ...

I like to incorporate classic styles and phrasing into a modern frame when I write poetry, and try to cover a wide range of genres, but I enjoy the darkly sensual the most, despite its limited audience. I hope you'll give my rather unusual style a chance, read a piece-or-two, and leave a comment, if you'd be so kind. I also hope you'll visit my music web site as well, (at the following address under my moniker "Bahku") - mostly (very) old recordings there, but also a snippet of the first single coming, and more new stuff soon!

Thanks for stopping by my page - blessings!

My Dear Fellow Soupers -

I just want you to know that I am thinking of you, wishing you the best, and sending some love and positivity your way!

                                                   ~

(This was much longer originally, but I decided to make it short and sweet, as I am known to ramble here, but if you ever need an ear or want to say hi, please don't hesitate to Soup Mail me ... we are a community of very sensitive people, and I think the darkness of this pandemic has cast a shadow over us, one that we, of ALL folks, are capable of turning around, and setting the mature example with ... you are all so special, and we wield a powerful tool with which to facilitate positive change - individually AND collectively).

Blessings, Dear Ones!

Very nice blog. Both warm and timely. We can only pray that the virus stems. A blossom rises in it's place. And a garden, a bouquet, a Hallmark takes shape, and all of Earth comes together.

Thank you, Greg, for sprinkling much-needed words of tenderness and compassion in this bewilderingly frightening world we currently find ourselves in. Your well-wishes and thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated by this close-knit community of poets. I'll definitely keep paying it forward. Have a blessed day, my poet brother. Stay well and safe out there!

It looks like the show is almost over here in the US. Soon it will be back to business for most folks but for the elderly and infirmed the plight will continue. Social distancing will become the norm. Realistically the world can not stay closed to business for ever. They have figured out that we already have medications to treat folks which will buy time to create a vaccine. We older folks will just have to be more careful. Do you think humanity has learned anything from this experience? Do you think nations will continue to study and develop new biological weapons? I think we all know the answer to these questions. Fact is, we seem to be very slow learners.

Dogs are some of the best friends to hang out with. When I'm laying with all three of ours I feel right as rain.

Of course there is a story behind that. I do not live in the town I was raised in. i did not move here until about 10 or so years ago. I have not met anyone here because I no longer play well with others. I have a friend in KC but I am disabled and I can not go visit. He works so he can not come visit. I still have some old friends in the town I was raised in but they all work too. i rarely see anyone other than my neighbors and we do not socialize. It's just me. my dog, and music and sometimes poetry.

Arkansas 280 cases. people running around down here like nothing is happening If you don't test anybody, you won't have very many cases. That applies nationwide!

Reports as of yesterday have given very positive results from the recent use of the malaria drug both alone and combined. Although no clinical test results are in (they take time) we should have faith (have to have faith) that the best microbiologists are on this.

Well Brian, it seems they are using cocktails, AIDS medications and malaria meds mixed. The American govt is more worried about it's economy than the welfare of it's taxpayers. The old and infirmed are expendable. The POTUS is wanting to be back at full strength by Easter.
