I See You Says the Moon

They'll have you believe she was lost to the sea,
But the moon would beg to differ.

She was always lost,
Always looking for which way to go.
Or was that always looking for where she came from?
The moon couldn't really tell coming from going;
To a celestial body both look pretty much the same.

She wanted to be found asserts the moon.
Or was that to be seen?

She had confided at every turn,
Every phase,
I see you,
Do you see me?
I am but a sliver today, how about you?
A crescent, that's exactly how I'm feeling too!
I see you,
Do you see me?
No, not this moonless night;
I don't see myself either.
I see you,
Do you see me?
I see you.

I know you see me too.
You are the full that fills me.

She was not lost to the sea insists the moon.
It was not the sea that swallowed her
But my reflection.

In This Place

I am the weed
Nestled
In a crack in the pavement
Dismantling concrete
Crumbling foundations
In this man made world
Rooted in the earth
Despite the city
I am the seed

Doll

"Hi Doll!"
He's been calling me that for years
I like it

Truth is I have always been a doll

My permanent smile
My open arms

I was a sweet sixteen's baby doll
her brother's too old to play with doll
a favourite doll
forgotten doll
replaced doll

A bounced off two cars rag doll

A fashion doll
possession comfort toy pretty thing on your arm with
eyes that roll doll

Not real
not taken seriously doll

A spinning three faced porcelain
cracked and chipped with rocks and scissors
paper doll

fragile doll

disfigured doll

tearing out my stuffing
losing my head

broken doll

A doll
like any other doll

that just wants to be held.

Chimney Swift

My precious chimney swift
Envy alone
Has named you so mundane
Tethered to the slightest pause
Amid your life upon the wing
Describing you as drab
Cigar shaped
And flying like a bat
While within me
Your beauty burns
And I thank you so for that
For from my human complications
The conditions of my sin
You do so delightfully
Delightfully distract.

Asteroid Gravity Graced

Asteroid

You were out of this world
named for the Perseids
the meteor
that exploded in two striking the blue
between the sun and the moon
the massive spark an exclamation mark
that punctuated perfectly my
“hey we’re going to see some awesome...”

fireworks tonight and
a week later

    Gravity

led me to you
all arctic and wolfy
all wild and white
a firecracker alright
You were out of this world
a brilliant light in my life for
fourteen years

     Graced

after you died
I learned a meteor
had streaked
that very same sky
the same day

my gift from the heavens
the heavens reclaimed

Odd Od Dodo

Idyllically Odylically Odd I Be
                                   Such is my nature
                               It is who I be
                            In an unnatural world
                                   Flapping upstream
I am ruled by the Ods
                                                    Not this man made dream
Not a slave to the sway of society
Long labelled weird but "in a nice way"
                                                                      I am apparently odd
And so odd I will stay
As I find more in common
               With birds and trees anyway
For like feathers and leaves I am
                                        Swayed by the breeze
                                       Roots in the earth
                             Love of nature my wings
                      Beauty surrounds me
             I live it every day
                       Yes idyllic
                             And odd
                                    Like a
                                           Dodo
                                                I be
Being an Od bird is okay with me

(even if that means going extinct)

Hot Grey Matter

There is nothing hotter than a sexy brain
A one of a kind
The bigger the better

With swagger

Nothing titillates more than stroking genius
Sending ripples through the psyche
An ignited muse invoking rapture

With inspiration and seduction
Sliding hand in hand dear

When my mind is whet
You penetrate

I quiver

Disarming Disarray

Out there
With her flair for chasing inspiration
She draws you in her reason
Connecting dots and constellations

Tripping

She takes you by the hand
Her world as messy as her mind
You need a guide

And as you wade through her chaff
Her heaps of half thoughts
Her every whim expressed
The only thing you know for sure is

Out there exists

Dirty Talk

come on crude

                         we're all future fossil fuel

                                     pump me

Bluewing Falling

Her magic is drawn
from an ocean's
million hues
reflecting
boundless skies

slain by her trembling perfection
you grab hold of her
to save yourself

and you do not mean her any harm
you just want to feel what azure feels like
to experience the depths of cerulean

but her cobalt dust
rubs off all over you
your being

indelibly indigo stained

as the beauty you wished to possess
lays crushed
at your feet
