Dog-Tired

Used to gad about town as such in my day
but don't get around much anymore
conked out zonked out
(perchance to dream)
I prefer to remain
housebound indoors
yes it's an age-old refrain
my dogs are barking
and my best guess they may really be
completely up the wrong tree entirely
but my best bet yet feeling my years
(the weight of the world)
I'm in a slump down in the dumps
a pooch too tired to smooch
tho' stooped but healthy hale and hearty
this poor pup's too pooped to party

Watching a Drug Addict

Dick was watching a drug addict
And dared to his next act predict;
Dick's bet: Addict would rich smiles beam
To show off teeth that like gold gleam.

But this the Zonked Guy did not do.
"Please, can't I meet lions in Zoo?
For so much I've heard of their strength
But can mine stretch to a full length!"

Just plain! there should be an edict:
Do not drug fighters contradict.

Premium MemberPlay Possum

A game she had played every night
on guard for that opened-door light;
was quick to react,
cause it was a fact-
each time, it was somewhat a fright!

Cause, under the covers, you see,
'twas something, that just shouldn't be;
a light in her hand
hid like contraband
for something, she'd do happily.

At this hour, she should be asleep-
so that's why mom comes in to peep.
And to mom's surprise
closed tight are her eyes-
zonked out like she counted her sheep.

But, little did mom come to know
that hiding beneath the bed throw-
another good book
a light in the crook
for reading by her secret glow!

Play possum was her secret game;
close book and light- shut eyes became
for seven-year-old
worth its weight in gold
to do what she loved without blame!

Premium MemberThese Human Sound Awful

Tramadah was trying to explain
Halloween to her black cat, Jermaine.
Two legged creatures go house to house.
May try to catch you. You could cough up a mouse.

It is most probably best if we stay hidden inside.
After trick-or-treating, we’ll take broomstick for a ride.
They sound terrifying her pet black cat said.
What is wrong with them? Are they zonked in the head?

A tiny bit nutty and confused if you really want to know.
They carve out pumpkins and make their insides glow.
I’ll hide in the darkest corner, way back under the bed.
These humans sound AWFUL Jermaine the cat said.

Poison

This poison tasted like wine enough to kill my conscious

This fields of medicine I drank myself out of this situation of in-laws my mother zonked herself to be part of
My poison was them, nothing ever killed me like they did

This field of medicine not only caused me to die a deleterious death
This field of medicine killed my womb to birth my own children

This poison!

I employed sectors of poisonous substances for reasons other than toxicity
I employed sectors to destroy my own consciousness

I injected a deadly potion dose to kill myself
I injected a deadly potion to kill and destroy this temple I live in everyday
I wanted to feel numbness

I headed straight to the edge with a slogged mind of this poison I intoxicated myself to sleep through this pain I was feeling

To my surprise
I laid awake in mind
I laid awake in mind with no sets of my body moving

That was never a dream, was it?

I dosed off my conscious with this poison I drank

On the Eve

The revelers will party.
The champagne corks will pop,
While I’m at home and won’t partake –
No, not a single drop.

As friends and family gather
To welcome in the year,
I will not join them; rather I
Will watch TV from here.

I’m feeling sick on New Year’s Eve;
No merriment – instead,
I’ll dream about the countdown
While I’m zonked out in my bed.

Those Words

Those Words
Message to idiots everywhere. You can run but can't hide. We'll find you and expose you for the idiots you are. Idiot alert on the TV. Full of idiots. We're going to find you and expunge you. Consider yourselves targets of the state. We don't want idiots in our country. Oh no. We want an idiot free zone. No Putin's or slackers allowed. Idiots in the newspapers. You're number 2 in line to get it. Bad reporting and slander won't be tolerated. After you, it's the turn of the back stabbing workers who spread gossip and name call. A special fate awaits you. Get ready to be zonked. Idiots beware!

A Big Crude Demoness

A big crude demoness
                 Entered fabulous Garnet Hotel Inn
                     Juggling kettles, looting money
                  Netting oodles, precocious quagmire,
                 Respite-- she thankfully undressed--
            Voluptuous wench, *** yodeling, zonked.

Premium MemberRegret In Life

Hanging onto my virtues,
As rich as an infant to his
belongings,
And Just like a thief to its loot.

I sit on hilltop of regrets,
On which I pause and ponder.
A poisonous thorn pierces my
heart,
As I view my dead life from the
summit .

Tears seeping down through
closed eyelids,
I fall down like dried leaves of
autumn.
A weary wait to end this
remorse,
and state of repose as if zonked
with tranquillisers.

With repentance open to
ventures,
let relics bring deliverance.
I emerge victorious as a convict
in the death house!!

Nappin'

I started nappin’.
How’d it happen?
I was really zonked.
The sun was beatin’
Temps was heatin’
And I simply conked.

It stands to reason
In this season
Weather can be drainin’.
And when it’s muggy,
I feel sluggy;
It won’t help complainin’.

Still, supposin’
I was dozin’
That is just confusin’.
Daylight hours
Give us powers
Never meant for snoozin’.

Guess with agin’
We’re engagin’
In a losin’ battle.
Vigor shrinks
And forty winks
Ain’t nothin’ that should rattle.

Cold Minds

Embracing this low and calm fumes
Adopting these reserved maneuvering skills
Rehearsing my lines daily…hoping to perfection
I wish to be the extra prototype when the curtain rises up
I will majestically bow to the jury…doubting their frown
Here with me…will compose the best speech
With my specs; you will see an intelligent poet
Yet with my hands you will lay an author of the future
Now we are a little far away from the spotlight…
On the road we are pedestrians…of course Christians
Now we weep, now we creep out with terror
Last night I saw the fellow; he was a sad veteran
Weirdly he seemed killed already only that he wasn’t berried
Poor soldier; dead already just a moving corpse waiting for
An open grave…
So much I had wanted to tell him…when I stared at him wobbling
Zonked, I couldn’t help a tear from falling
The war had consumed so much of his good smiles and the blissful memos
When he embraced me…he whispered to my left ear and said;
‘Do you know how to pull a trigger aah!?’
I answered no…you should learn son as he sighed with discomfort
The was ache in his left leg…I loved him much he died the next evening
It’s always like that for me…
I am rehearsing my agony…so hurting

Animal Alliteration

Alphabetical animals all around:
Angry army ants,
Busy buzzing bees,
Carousing calico cats,
Dancing dolphin duo,
Eerie electric eels
Fancy feathered flamingos,
Graceful grey geese,
Harmless hairy hamsters,
Interesting itchy insects,
Jolly Japanese jellyfish,
Karate kicking kangaroos,
Lonely little lizards,
Many mischievous monkeys,
Numerous nearsighted newts,
Old ornery otters,
Pretty pink pelicans.
Quick quacking quail,
Rockin’ Red Robins,
Slimy sea slugs,
Terrifying Tibetan tigers,
Upstanding undulating umbrellabirds,
Vicious vandalizing vultures,
Warbling white whipperwills,
Exotic examining extraterrestrials,
Yellow yoked yaks,
Zonked zoo zebras.

Sober Bottles

The bottles looked sober, waiting till it's over.

In between quaffs and hiccups he mumbled
that he had staggered and fell many times.
That he'd tried to walk society's line,
follow proper paths of places and climes.
But he couldn't help displeasing anyone,
for to him blazing trails are never crimes.

With zonked sobriety, he grinned and winked
at his beer, asked it conspiratorially:
"Must my self-worth desperately cling to a crag
that is loosening off perilously
from the edge of other people's opinions,
and crash down, trampled upon cruelly?"

The bottles looked sober, waiting till it's over.
