Her mind was beautiful
Like wires
At the back of those old TVs
A riot of colors, ideas criss-crossing
Bouncing off one another, melting, melding
Beautiful like a rainbow.
There was no straight connection
To the relay of things, she said.
And her face, her face!
Varied more constantly than weather patterns
Depending on what channel she was on
What high! But it was her mind
That struck me the most.
A riot, a babble, a cacophony
A buzz, never dwelling on a topic
Before flitting to the next
Like those wires
At the back of old TVs

I thought you abandoned me;
That you left when you had the chance;
I know now what I then didn’t see;
Silent suffering is a complicated dance.
I was hurt and angry then;
I loved you more than I knew;
but I won’t make the same mistake again;
Please tell me there is something I can do.
Even angry I missed you dearly;
I couldn’t imagine life without you;
Now that I finally see clearly;
I know neither could you.
My life moved on without you;
At least, that’s what I said;
Now I know you missed me too;
I could never get you out of my head.
When we parted, I was devastated;
That’s when I knew it to be true;
Reunited once again I’m elated;
For I had fallen in love with you.

I might have noticed a gray swallow perched high on cable wire;
An omen maybe from a quarter moon's advancing, blurred shade -
On keener view, a tiny beam through street-post reflects night's hue.

I went to see a psychiatrist today
He studied me in a very strange way
He grunted once and then he said
"Let me try to understand what's in your head"
I said "There's nothing wrong with me
I'm as intelligent as can be"
Two more grunts then he exclaimed
"Let's begin. Tell me your name"
"My name is Mr. Downtoearth
I'll tell you that for what it's worth"
"Ah said the psychiatrist, with a penetrating stare
With a name like that, we have to take care"
He stroked his beard and gave a sigh
Tut-tutted twice and closed one eye
Looking at me with limited vision
As though it helped him to reach a decision
He clasped his hands around his knees
Blew his nose loudly and gave a sneeze
I said "I do not need a physician
I am Mr Downtoearth, the hospital electrician!"

Far apart from one another
The wires are full
With a flock of sparrows spread
Resting from their long journey

A businessman asked how anyone might,
get into an honest business right.
My friend Ned,
stood up and said,
usually it is through the skylight.

Hot flashes of blue electricity
Burn and dance like sparks from a fire
As the ghost drifts slow through the wires
With a great, charging intensity
Floating through cyberspace, shadows drift
Like children lost in desolate woods
Their faces dissolved, their voices no good
Ev'ry trace of them melts in the mist
Thick and wet, this mist never dissolves
It sits fat and covers our endless sphere
"Drink all your whisky and drink all your beer!"
The ghost giggles, glows blue, and evolves
Swallowing data, swallowing all
Nothing is left, All is devoured
His soul blooms like some virtual flower
And his spirit's laugh is heard through the halls of Hell.

They can turn anything to everything
They can take nothing and make into something.
So they created races to set society to race,
we call this the rat race
This is a race towards being a god,
The sit in heaven,
The winner takes it all
Chipped on the hand to keep track of the game
The mark of the beast,
We are fooled The real chips are our Sims,
smartphones and credit cards and its all hand held,
Mostly by the right hand,
Since that's the right hand.
Silence is the power,
They have us in tuned,
Playing there unheard melodies,
While we watching TV,
listening to music on cellphones and playing games on consoles,
And all sorts of electronic devices,
The unseen wires that are wired to these devices,
Radio waves set to stimulate our minds in all kinds of ways,
Why do you think we do what we see,
Its all in our minds.
And what we see is what we do
The body reflects the image given by the tube, the lobe,
We all doomed!

I wish my body had a control panel; a back door that led to monitors and controls
Lights of emotions that are controlled by switches
Digital displays in the form of actions
I long to change the settings, adjust the frequencies
Disconnect some wires and reinforce others;
Rip away the scrawny cords that feed to weakness, self loathing and despair
Then, wrap the cords leading to confidence, self assurance and love in electrical tape so strong no wire cutters could penetrate
I want to flip some switches off indefinitely; hate and greed
Then, prevent some from ever adjusting; love and empathy
I wish I could control my lights and displays, I wish I could switch off negative feelings and actions I wish I was the controller of my wires. I wish I had a control panel.

Amazing agony
of years to what degree?
Pain is a comfort,
for it bears the fruit of tears
normally stifled by life.
People have me
up against walls,
avoidance
a social disorder
made by their design,
unable to detect
their motives of dishonesty.
I hide my hearts sleeve.
Living in an acid trip of fear
trances dominate my brain.
Wires crossed
haphazard,
relapsed today
and yesterday
this whole past month
a blur...
as are countless years.
Trying to focus
on the words heard,
find their meaning
keep it all straight.
My hand brushes
the hair from my eyes,
and I'm told
they're just seizures,
seizures that make you write.
My tears disagree
shaking my head
no that can't be true,
because I love to write,
deceived again.

I looked up for a long time
Staring at the telephone wires
Knowing
That if I followed them
Long enough
To all the beautiful
And dark places
I had ever been
They would
Eventually
Lead me
To you

it's a breakdown in communication
somehow the wires get crossed
or maybe there are no towers
for the words to flow across
it all ends suddenly
the same way it started
one doesn't give enough
the other pretends to receive
it is the fine art of deception
cloak and dagger I believe
I am an excellent sleuth
I still can see through you
please excuse my heart
for showing that it cared
giving what you needed
always being there
but now that it is dark
you can't see your shadow anymore

Spite
I write
You don't
Bite
That's alright
Check
Out broken
Glass
I broke
Through
Gotta go
To bed
Head before
You sleep
You love me
Fight
And take
It all out
On you
Don't get mad
Don't feel bad
I'm not letting
You in that easily
Not so quick
So step back
