Windfall Poems - Poems about Windfall

Windfall

We ate the windfall
Jillie Bulson and me
Wandering the orchard
From tree to tree
Apples and pears
Plums and cherries
Then the kitchen garden
To top up on berries.

Constitutions like iron
We gorged our fill
And never ever once
Were we ever ill.

The Orchard still stands,
Jillie sadly recently gone.
Our childhood friendship
In memory lingers on,
Still eating the windfall,
Jillie Bulson and me,
Wandering the orchard
From tree to

Sally Needs A Little Windfall From COVID

Sally yearns for her stimulus check
In part to bring sails to her shipwreck
She could use a timely breeze
To soothe her from the deep freeze
Money's ace but her men mend her deck

Premium MemberWindfall of Blessing Thanks

Came November, it was time to visit USA,
where my daughter and her family stay,
to be with them to celebrate the special day
when autumn’s footfall came softly all the way.

When gentle wind whistled through the trees,
colors burst to flames through their canopy,
amber leaves whispered in rustle of rhyme,
reminding us it was the Thanksgiving time.

Moonbeam drenched the

treasures of childhood
pride of the horse chestnut tree~
ready to conquer

20 August 2019

‘Conkers’, the shiny brown seeds of the horse chestnut tree are collected and used in a traditional British children’s game whereby the conkers are threaded onto a string and each child takes turns to strike until one breaks!

WINDFALL

the wind-bell, the windflower
  the sturdy gong
    brisk breeze of anemones

the screen whips open
   frangible leaves whisk about
     autumnal bout on the deck

hollow limbs crack

Faith flavours forth
Nice nurtures north

Gain glimpses good
Move mindful mood

Work windfall well
Time truly tells

Wake wonder writes
Cast clever cites

Love laughing lays
See success stay

Etch easy ease
Prize profound peace

Live lavish list
Good gathers gist

Word wealthy wish
Daze dazzling dish

Bright blossoms best
Feel feisty fest

A Code Project Windfall

I close mine eyes
The rush of wings
As darkness envelops
The numbers a torrent
A brush against my face
An urgent whisper..
Its time now
I open my eyes
My soul is in knots
My calm deameanor lost

Words weave warm worth where wonder wills,
Indulge dear heart the poise of mind;
Note nimble norm with poignant fill,
Draft dreamy start as joy styles find;
Face fancy thrills where touch funds treat,
Apt ample arc as affluence aids;
Live lavish will in moments sweet,
Love lights pure spark with plenty paid.
Work wonders well to taste true times,
Order fills stay with

Give me a void
filled with the absence
of human voices.
Let there be a windfall of birds
and the chime of water
for sound.
Insert the idle sway
of branches for movement,
tart apples for taste.
Let my eyes drink colors,
sate me with their flavors.
I will sleep in a womb of silence,
warm as sunlight,
and dream
I am a

Wear wisdom well as treasure fond,
Indulge your heart that finesse grand;
Note how you dwell as treasure spawns,
Dream echoes art fond start my friend;
Feel how you feel with sparkling sums,
Align here now as grandeur steers;
Live with fond thrill your great outcomes,
Love knows just how fine splendour cheers.
Wise words work way beyond mere sounds,
Oblige grand dream

Microscopic Windfall

Perhaps I’m facing pogonophobes?
Apparently wore the wrong face.
Age-hardened wiry wisps forge
post-pubescent platemail -
protect strangers
from my truest fleshy pores, protect me
from the xenophobes of the Winter Conference.

It’s all pitching and coffee breaks
In a hall too grand for these meager mergers
Silent hecklers - likely clean-shaven -
likely Twitter-blasting about
an awkward pitch
and bitterness.

The maple tree leaf
Sheens of white upon them lay....
		Crystalline manna

Grass lying beneath
	Sticky to tennis shoe sole....
		small sounds as I walk

The diligent bee
	gathering, gathering, fast....
		Quiets at twilight.

INTERJECTION:
Some would not return to the hive.
Too heavy to fly,
to far to crawl.
I’m sure they will die...

Inspired by a hive of hornets, deluging
a huge maple
