The lush fishing village of Kaloo-Nong
Rich with folklore, dance, and song
Natives thrive in work and play
Through joy and sorrow, day by day

When young Tahina feels lost, tense, and blue
The villagers know just what to do
In the sacred woods they sing tales of yore
Soon Tahina is as happy as she was before

In New York, young Mandy feels anxious, and blue
Her parents know exactly just what to do
An emergency room doctor, sterner than kind
writes a prescription to calm her mind

Months, then years pass, as friends fall away
In a well of despair, Mandy dreads every day
Abandoned and lost with tormenting sensations
Doctors continue to change and adjust medications

Break

You play your games you try to control the woman inside into tame!!!
Grab her shake her try to break her all the while she tries to resist your blame!!!
Your eyes of steely gray bare an evil presence of a well of despair!!!
Her spirit is full of grace that of which you try to break within an icy embrace!!!
She will break free battered n bruised with a spirit bent never broke for her you will be the joke!!!
Her scars and wounds are not seen worn on the inside in her world of the obseen!!!
You had your chance given tried and true all you knew was how to make her blue!!!
Her tears from the installed fear no longer exist to bind her wrists!!!
She is not your toy; you are just a boy!!! For which who has trapped a man who will never truly stand!!!
You beat her down not with fists, but with words of desperate twists!!
You take her on such an emotional trip and think you can keep her with in your grip!!!
No longer her hell she will be freed from her chains of never tell!!!
Her happiness will be found she will break free from her chains from which you bound!!!
No longer a child who has been bound, but a woman who broke free and has been found!!!

Premium Member Letting the Devil Go

In my heart was a searing flame
Leaving me emotionally scarred
And mentally scorched

Every single word fanned the flames
Until fire spewed from my eyes and lips
And I was left in a dehydrated fit

I succumbed to the darkness aplenty
And drove myself deep into the well of despair
Because the more I spoke the less anyone cared

And every line I wrote hid a deeper agony
Though I could never quite articulate it
So I burned in a corner all alone

I devoted verse after verse to this curse
But shunned my feelings to a crucible
Thinking I was ready for the crucifix

Truth is I had enough time to escape the shadows
But my own thoughts led me down the wrong path
And convinced me I was forever trapped

Nobody knows the depths I descended
Until I found the courage to climb out
Covered in gashes and garnished with scars

The wildfire that once raged within me
Was doused by the radiance of the sun
And I slowly but surely suffocated the fire

There was always a way out
And a way to snuff out the flames
I just had to face my demons

I'm no longer ignoring my demons
I'm simply getting them under control
By letting the devil go

bad
     moments
serious matters
to the
         fore,
primevil
       thoughts
flood
the heart
        & mind:
passionate
        outbursts
pepper
        perspective,
eloquence
      is lost
in a reportoire
of
once hidden
         frustration

Premium Member Love Cares Not

When morning rises on your blue sadness,
And its grey light falls on the injured soul.
In these shadowed rays you find a madness,
This well of despair as you lose control.
To weep in the mist where loneliness feeds.
Abandoned while time measures your lost tears.
As your severed heart lays open, now bleeds.
You'll inhabit cold nights when love appears
Leaving you vanquished without due remorse.
As love cares not for a heart that's misled,
Nor charts your destiny or chosen course,
No longer mourn for love, for it has fled.

To release your soul from its empty well.
You must climb each cold stone, wherein you fell.

Hope Is There

Although poverty maybe staring you in the eye,

There is no reason for you to sit there and cry.

Make a wish, your vision for tomorrow;

Hold on to it and you’ll find there’s no reason for sorrow.

And if you dream then with your dreaming,

Put in the work to start achieving.

For dreams can certainly be fulfilled,

But it is going to take determination and steadfast will.

Whenever in doubt or scared of failure,

Just recall your predicament without hope as your treasure.

You were hopeless and stood in a well of despair,

When it was only above, yet you had no knowledge to lead you there.

But then you eventually came to see the light

And you were aware that you had to fight and climb with all your might.

So despite what you see in front of you now,

Stand tall and keep moving, for in due time the situation will bow.
