Premium Member Wasting Away

There are days that I feel I'm wasting away
here one earth and my desire to be in heaven
is overwhelming but it's not my time yet,
so I try to do what I need to do while biding my
time, trying to be kind, help others and live each
day being the best person I can be while wasting away

Wasting Time With Temptation

A power struggle with my flesh
fighting with my impatience
playing tug a war with my addictions
arm wrestling with my anger
shadow boxing with my fears
temptation is such a waste of time

No Regrets

No more waiting or hesitating
taking off on a whim and a prayer
making do with whatever's there
going out on a limb
skating where the ice is thin
gotta get going as the going's good
gonna do what I can and should
on my way on the run
to make hay in the sun
not walking
now time's a wasting
while they're talking
nothing's being done
made my bed and I'll lie in it
come what may even die in it
'til that day dawns have to confess
I now know less
than I once knew
I am who I am's
why I do what I do

Premium Member stop wasting time

too much time wasted on …
comparing, complaining, criticizing
listening to others’ opinions of you
thinking some people do not like you
life is too short to waste time!
spend time on …
thanking, appreciating what you have
ignoring others’ opinions of you
accepting not everyone will like you
knowing yourself, strengths and imperfections

Wasting Time Is a Crime

If time is not properly managed
Surely life will be getting damaged
As time will leave us urgently
We mustn't touch troubles gently

Time if is wasted without sense
The route to defeats, it opens
Instead if we are very careful
Victories are indeed plentiful

Time can never be retrieved
Something must be achieved
We must work in full flow
To get the gold, let us go

Only by carefully planning
We can be always winning
In case we allow loopholes
Our life, only demon controls

Never postpone today's act
A perfect strategy, you enact
Go to win and pluck success
Glory, only toil can possess.

Premium Member Muses Are Wasting Their Time

The words are dazzling, razzling, ripping and roaring.
I cannot tear them out of my mind fast enough.
They are chastising, criticizing, laughing and staring.
Some days my muses are rowdy, rough and tough.

Can you give me a second to go to the bathroom? I beg.
When I come back in a few seconds, there is no hope.
Hilarious joke! Says my persnickety muse name of Peg.
Why do we waste time trying to give ideas to this little dope?

The Demise of Time

Like sands
Through the hourglass
My thoughts percolate
Between instant gratification
And long-term resolution.

Like an unfaltering pool
Of sinking sand
My dissatisfaction agglutinates
With foolish gibberish
To obscure optimism.

Like a withering stalk
My shrivelling aspiration
Matches and clashes
With swelling inertia
Resulting in dispiriting
Deprivation of direction.

Like a valley of ash
My barren essence
Gasps for restitution -
For a preserving elixir
To cogently overturn
The demise of time.

judgmental eye measures
whilst sigh of heart treasures

scattered thoughts resurrect
in dreams fear fraught dissect

when head melds with our heart
then our true life does start

I simpy don't understand my new psychiatrist
I've already completed three one-hour sessions
He sits there transfixed, listening to me as if I were
the most interesting person to ever walk this earth...

I can't tell you one single thing about this fellow
other than he wears jeans, he's left-handed
and he doesn't need listening lessons
Next session, he talks or I walk

Why is he sitting there, wasting my time

Bootless

Ten years spun into ballooning wear
Keep slipping through tighter fingers,
Fresh year's tries in futility repair
Adamant dents of wasting days.

Naive New Year's Eves pop in and go
In swift succession of dying dreams,
Most astute labors bootless bow;
Giving up more rewarding seems.

No tiny stone now unturned remains,
Yet progress-freezing agues fetid ail;
Stinging more than adder's fang ever sunk
Into most luck-lacking lamb's sleekest tail.

Expressionless Heaven looks on still,
As basest ills and brutish hell as one
Choke to death firmest hope's last ray;
As faith fruitless toils beneath the sun.

Not being who you were born to be -- evidence of a wasting life!

Wasting Paper

I’ve spent days wasting paper
Just trying to write a simple song
Describing the way I feel
Knowing that she’s long gone
I don’t lose my words often
But some say I’m better off
Just take this time to heal
And clear your head
But that is all too simple
Cause you don’t have to sit at home
While staring at the paper and the lead
Outside the sun is shining
Am I doing something wrong
I’ve got my buried emotion
With all that has been going on
I figured this’ll be the day
Where I’ll think of something
Cause the walls are getting taller
And my heart is sinking low
I can’t help but wonder
What did I do that was so wrong
I know I’ve got expectations
Did I set the bar too high
I’m told keep on waiting
And that she’ll come around
But here I am
Still wasting paper

Premium Member Sorry For Wasting Your Time

My friends and family wonder thusly
On these hours lost to idle rhyme
Where such tales and thoughts expressed
Seem an affront on precious time.

My desire to fixate on every word
To produce a work they'll never read
Is a joy of love they will never know
On what this poet feeds.

So I slog away at the words of old
To give voice to Nature's faults
And if my muse should be so inclined,
A sly poem may result.

But their interests lie in happenstance
And the boisterous views that others take.
My frivolous words are a sad refrain
Compared to what they fully slake.

But in the years ahead... when my dust
Lies cold and still beneath the dappled grass.
I may live on by the reading of a single verse
And with that... my own mortality surpass.

Wasting Time

Squandering what you
never had

And what you’ll never
—understand

(Dreamsleep: March, 2020)

Wasting Your Time

Kick up your heels,
you’re in a race against time.
Take the challenge,
it’s a piece of cake.

Don’t put it off till tomorrow
or cross the bridge when you come to it.
Say what you feel.
you know you’re head over heels.

You’re running out of time.
Go right ahead,
tell that special someone
you have feelings for them.

Time flies when you’re having fun,
so don’t you wait for them to come.
Don’t wait, take your chance,
go for what you want and seize the day.
