I learn to hold a rose’s thorn,
without a flinch, without the scorn,
To withdraw warmth from tempered spring,
Coiled within a cold, hard steel ring.
In alleys closed by brick and stone,
I press my ear for echoes’ tome.
Sometimes the stone rings hollow—
Hidden behind a door I can't follow.
I set my old names down, one by one.
Confronting eyes I once would shun.
Their gaze now soft, no longer sears,
as I open up and forgo my fears.
I burn the mold that confined me,
kneeling in the ash of sympathy.
I cast new shapes in bold new forms.
From old and odd, to more usual norms.
Maps show pathways with ragged ends.
Roads with kinks and sudden bends.
Each one leads to a blind dead-end.
Or forks where pathways refuse to mend.
My demand for perfection in advance.
Often falls flat at first glance.
For why wait too long for redress?
When you know, you can't stop progress!
Instead, I'll take what each step becomes.
Choosing each new turn as it comes.
Always moving forward into the light.
Ignoring shadows and impending blight.

I walked away not free from snags
caused by those in authority,
but to be free from cruelty
to save my spirit against evilness
And injustice in power's grip
Tied up by abusive six sprawling
division in command,
footsteps no trace, only an echo
weeping soul in the dusk!
Harsh words
dug deeper into my soul—
sickening insults
to my inner self—
a burden carried
within the shadowed kingdom.
So I just walked away,
to protect what is left in me:
my spirit,
which no man can ban
from entering
the paradise of sovereignty.
Walked away for peace!

She kept walking—until emotions burst.
Weeping, she cried out in a public space,
Where no one cared enough to stop or see
The woman breaking at the corner of the road.
In her sobs, a memory returned:
A voice, a message—
New beginnings,
And a man who stood like a torch of light
In the dim glow of night.
But greed mocked her,
And laughter echoed in that cruel place—
A dungeon of fire.
Still, God sent a kind-hearted rescuer.
She was hungry, tired, and pale,
On the edge of vanishing into the day.
No food, no coin,
Just emptiness and dry hope
Wishing to leave,
To be anywhere else but there.
To connect in the world of paradise
Where in that place could she find?
Where in that place she was betrayed
Where in that place, she begged for kindness.
It's a truth that she will bring
And the hope and courage in her heart that will forever be treasured until she finds a place that she can call "home".

Inspired by U Got the Look
Boy, when you walked in, my heart went BOOM.
Best-looking guy you were inside the entire room.
Face of an angel, eyes so soft it seems
I never saw a guy so schweet except inside my dreams.
I don’t need some macho man with tattoos or a beard
or some girly boy extra sensitive and weird.
You are like a Christmas gift, the best I ever got,
saying everything just right and looking hot, hot, hot.
In this world of boys and girls, I know lots of fishes.
But you are the best catch, for you simply are de-lish-es.
I can’t wait to cozy up beside you in your car.
In your red Corvette, baby, you can take me far.

He walked where no one dared to tread,
Through fields of fire and cities dead.
No crown, no map, no hand to hold—
Just ink for blood, and truth for gold.
They watched him pass with judging eyes,
A ghost, a myth beneath their skies.
But he, with silence as his guide,
Wrote thunder where the stars would hide.
He wore no mask to please the crowd,
His voice was never trained to bow.
He etched his pain in verse and stone,
And found his peace in being alone.
His words were winds that cracked the gate,
Of kings who feared the hands of fate.
He spoke of love not sold or caged,
Of time, and gods, and wounds unnamed.
Each night he lit a candle bright,
And whispered poems into the night.
Not for applause or fleeting fame,
But to remind the void of name.
For though he walked a lonesome mile,
His truth could stretch a thousand while.
And in his path, the seeds were sown—
By The Poet Who Walked Alone.

Honestly you put my heart through hell, and took advantage of my love,
And I watched you try to make a spectical of me, but I never said anything at all,
And I don't know why I felt sorry for you, that made my heart go silent,
But then again I understood your pain, and I couldn't bring myself to confront it,
For fear of what I might say might hurt you, and I didn't want to damage you more,
Because sometimes my honesty gets so deep it gets right to the core,
So I let you treat me the way that you did, without even knowing my name,
I saw your ego working in overtime to protect your heart through the pain,
So I took the brunt of your ridicule, because the heart of my intentions were real,
And at the end of this story I loved you more, and walked away to heal.

This year, you walked into my life,
Brought me music and sunshine,
Triggered my brain's artistic side.
I loved all those time we were together,
Messaged one another via Conversation Apps,
Carried out the "Put lipstick on the pig" projects.
Repaired the rear boundary fence,
Assembled the coffee table,
Went shopping and preparing food,
Shared simple healthy meals of veggies and fruits
Listened to music and watched videos.
It was my pleasure to share with you,
My daily music adventures stories,
Traveled from MCC, MC to MUni,
The heavy weight on my shoulders,
Carried those fruits of your favor,
Delivery to you at the front door,
Patiently waited till your second home closed,
How happy I was to see you,
The moment you washed and munched those fruits.
Now, all that lives only in my memories.

I walk
I walk the earth
with dark and heavy steps
I walked the earth in search of something
I walked the earth until my feet turned black
there were times of great plenty
there were times of great need
there were times when the spirit withered
I confused what I wanted with what was needed
I walk
I walk the earth
in an eternal -desperate circle
where nothing was seen nor heard
except for the shadow of a lonely step
and the scream of a flightless bird
at times the walk was profound
at times it was quite mundane
at times I walked in a cleansing drought
at times I walked in a parched-out rain
I once walked in the ego of darkness
I once walked the path of self-deception
something always brought me back into the light
into the realm of grace and divine perfection.
I walked
I walked this earth.

I walked on stage.
Singing one of Cyndi Lauper's songs.
I sang a sweet melody, and everyone sang along.
My voice sounded sweet and strong.
I woke up from my slumber.
Realizing that it was just a dream.
I didn't hear my mother call me.
Telling me that it was time to go to school.
I decided to sleep a bit more.
Falling into that REM stage.

Holy books differ, differ their adage,
No one sage whose word is a standard gauge,
As roots of virtue deep down lay,
Wherefrom the wise walked be the way.

Translation |06.10.2024| scriptures, path of virtue,
Poet’s note: Sanskrit has thousands of verses of wisdom called Subhashhitam. A question was asked as to what is the right and virtuous path to follow. In answer comes this verse. Shrtis and Smrtis : Two main sources of learning and knowledge in ancient India. Few things were written down in those days. Hence shrtis, what is heard, and smrtis, included all that is remembered, contemplated upon, and also sanskaaras. This verse comes from Mahabharata’s Yaksha Prashna episode in Aadi Parva. The transliteration of the Sanskrit verse follows:
Shritir vibhinnaa smritayah cha bhinnaa, na ekah munih yasya vachah pramaanam |
Dharmasya tattvam nihitam guhaayaam, mahaa-janah yena gatah sah panthaah ||

I walked through a tunnel
like a finger rubbing around
the inside of a wine glass
round and round
fround bround vround tround
round and round
through the tunnel as a funnel
speeding up
kround zround jround pround
I walked through a tunnel
down to the darkness
down and down
bown hown rown zown
down and down
round and round
dark and stark
I walked through a tunnel
to myself who wasn’t there

An aardvark walked into IKEA
Why he did that I have no idea
Ignoring their calls
To try the meatballs
He searched for some ants out the rear
He does ‘civilised’ when he’s able
So found a flat pack dining table
He’d built one - not ever
In inclement weather
And thus it was rather unstable
You don’t see aardvarks wearing wellies
While stuffing ants into their bellies
And if he should drown
While slurping ants down
Would it show up on closed circuit tellies?
He wouldn’t be humiliated
Embarrassment is over rated
The ground was now boggy
And aardvark was soggy
His hunger was not to be sated
So he snuck in to get meatballs - Swedish
He was wet so they gave him a free dish
He ate them real quick
And then he got sick
Had somebody done something fiendish?
The police came and said, “Well I Never,
Was it IKEA food or the weather?”
They found lots of clues
They thought they could use
But they struggled to put them together.

"Jesus walked this lonesome valley
He had to walk it by Himself"
Even though surrounded by disciples
He walked it by Himself
Jesus stood up to fiery trials
He stood up by Himself
Even though He had disciples
Jesus stood by Himself
Jesus faced the establishment
He faced them all alone
He was the only defender
He stood by Himself_God atoned
He was surrounded by followers
When He healed the sick and blind
When the tide turned against Him
He stood all alone

I walked the heath
and the sun
but revel
in my maker’s glare
do I stall
if this lustrous scene
unfolds unbound
without me
or does it play on
regardless
and I walk this sun
upon this heath
forever
