Walked Away

Honestly you put my heart through hell, and took advantage of my love, And I watched you try to make a spectical of me, but I never said anything at all, And I don't know why I felt sorry for you, that made my heart go silent, But then again I understood your pain, and I couldn't bring myself to confront it, For fear of what I might say might hurt you, and I didn't want to damage you more, Because sometimes my honesty gets so deep it gets right to the core, So I let you treat me the way that you did, without even knowing my name, I saw your ego working in overtime to protect your heart through the pain, So I took the brunt of your ridicule, because the heart of my intentions were real, And at the end of this story I loved you more, and walked away to heal.
