The lesson from a father to his son
Are blessings in disguise
For they are guidelines to success
And longevity;
My father taught me many things
He taught me to be firm
While going after what I want
Taught me how to say no without guilt.
My father taught me
How to stay strong and patient
When things don't go my way
According to my plans
I should let go of things
That is out of my control
Teaching me detachment.
My father taught me
To be humble and consistent
When things start going my way
According to my plans
Because discipline and humility
Maintains success.
My father taught me
How to treat everyone
I cross paths with
Because variety is the spice of life
Disparaging another only
Feeds the ego instead of essence
He taught me so many things
I can't mention here
When words are too much it becomes void.
He's a common man
A man on a mission
Not to cause commotion
But to give liberation
He lives a simple life
Because he got integrity
Fighting against principality
Even when he owns no property.
He's a common man
He's always teaching not preaching
Saying man is the life of lives
Unity is not uniformity
We all got our paths
The reason we emerge
Striving and thriving until we depart.
He's a common man
The commissioner of good vibes
Never take bribes
Even if you're his tribe
He's no that type
This is not a hype
He always says;
Variety is the spice of life
Don't you ever disparage anyone.
Can you live forever?
Why feel you are
Over another
When you're not
Their creator and provider
Just because you're in your prime.
I can't make you feel less
But won't make you
Feel above me either
Variety is the spice of life
Why disparaging another?
Like Jesus said;
Do unto others, as you want others to do unto you.
If it hasn't been done to you
If it's wrong or draining
You'll think it's right or rejuvenating
Trust me, it's crazy
When you're the victim
It cripples or makes you lazy
Leaving you vulnerable and devastated.
They always dance to it
The drum and rhythm of life
The beat are so lovely
If you can get it.
Life is a mystery
A journey you alone ride
But with support it becomes worthwhile.
Life is so frustrating
When you know or own nothing.
Drives you crazy, if you're lazy
Not having the courage to go after,
What you want or need.
There's enough for all
Some want everything
So they can use people, just like tools.
Many wanna start
From the top, not the bottom
From everything, not somewhere.
Variety is the spice of life;
Everyone can't be a leader, there must be followers.
Life is a mixture of contrasts and opposite polarities
North-south east and west
Sadness and pleasure
Winter and summer
Empty pockets others full of treasure
Female and males
Dark and light
Kittens with whiskers and puppies with wagging tails
Hot and cold
War or peace
Living or dead
Young and old
They claim that variety is the spice of life
A sweet love song
Or a lament
A kiss or a bite
Truth or a lie
A laugh or a thrown
Day and night
A winner or a loser
A serious person or a clown
A hunter and prey
A full cake or just the crumbs
A sunrise and sundown
Love and hate
A labour of work or a holiday
Chalk and Cheese
A full or an empty plate
A clear road ahead or something blocking your way
Some people sin or keep on the right track
Some people are strong other's weak
A bad or good day
A success or a failure
A double or single bed
A hundred miles or just a breath away
No matter how we differ
To me we are all brothers and sisters
Under the same moon stars and sun
Things are not what they were supposed to be
But my dream would be love harmony peace and forgiveness
In a paradise united as one.
They do say opposites attract.
Variety is the spice of life
At least that's what they say..
We celebrate different colours
Yet the world still chooses grey
There's room for different flavours
Whether green leaf, pulse or grain
Banana loaf or carrot cake?
Nutrition stays the same
The truth it seems is constant
With the source identified;
Humans - not so different
On this planet we reside
As this year rumbles onwards
I throw love into the mix;
Not to colourise the whole world
Just my local bit to fix
No longer are we separate sides
Of some bridge-less, gaping fissure..
Maybe same-ness is the spice of life
As we share more than we differ.
The old adage “variety is the spice of life” is quite profound!
William Cowper was the author and didn’t need to utter a sound
The words are perfect for creative souls
For mixing things up helps to achieve your goals
After almost 300 years his message still works
And intuitively I’ve long had that quirk
Now more than ever I’m mixing it up
I move around to different places to “fill my cup”
Sitting still for very long drives me nuts!
All I need to do is avoid being a “klutz”!
We stood at the altar in love face-to-face
Declared our love, fidelity, and devotion
Forty years of absence could not erase
What we believed God had set into motion
Years later, we get to walk hand-in-hand
Living out our sweet golden years together
We will remain a permanent and indelible brand
The time we lost isn't relevant or able to recover
Like two bookends, we stand back-to-back
If variety is the spice of life, we are seasoned
Pool our earthly assets, so we never know lack
Trust and commitment are the ultimate reasons
We don’t always see things eye-to-eye
Nor agree with each other’s point of view
We never get too angry to say good-bye
Childish or petty conflicts yield no value
Meshed together to remain side-by-side
Only death can separate us from this union
If we keep God as the center; His love abides
Vowing to be each other’s love and companion

The world was meant to have choice.
It is said, variety is the spice of life.
This may be why we have a color spectrum?
This may be why there is a multitude of musical notes, giving us the ability to choose how we want our song to sound?
When we attempt to remove choice, the outcome usually ends in vain.
It would be as if to remove one of our senses, which too, was given in multiple. To see. To smell. To taste, and so on.
This variety enriches our experiences.
This too, then, may be why we have many religions?
Giving us the chance to express our spiritual differences.
No one religion will ever be the only choice.
When we've tried to enforce this in history, it has always ended in failure.
We made a simple particle,
it soon began to fade,
We gave it spin and mass and charge,
much longer now it stayed.
We gave it flavors strange and charm,
and soon we had quark.
Neutrino here, a photon there,
enough to fill the dark.
I am so fed up with the school of rhyme
and those that do it ALL THE flipping TIME
It how we are taught as little pups
it's not a genre befitting grow ups
It's okay to throw a rhyme in here and there
but Jesus Christ, really, EVERYWHERE?
If I start to read a pieces that rhymes
every other frigging line
it makes me want to yank out all my hair
so I close the page and go else where
if you think that rhyming is where it's at
then your sentiments are falling flat
Let the children have their style
Use it sparingly; once in a while
I wrote this poem to prove I can...
write just like neanderthal man
If variety is the spice of life
then tell me: why is rhyming so rife?
