Priceless precious what we speak,
We all do and far too quick,
O let your heart weigh words well
Ere tongue turns them out to spell.

Boli ek anmol hai, jo koi bolai jani,
Hiye taraju tauli ke, tab mukha bahar ani.
Everyone knows to speak, but few know the value and weight of their words, nor their capacity to make mischief. Kabeer advises people to weigh every word with the weighing balance (taraju) of their heart (hiye) before it is uttered. A fool is he of a worldly-wise school that knows it not.

"Words uttered in anger can weigh heavy on the heart,
but those uttered in contrition absolves a sorrowful soul."
~ authored by poet
Apologetic words, asking forgiveness were uttered
Each one spoken with apprehension as he stuttered
Absolved from carrying the weight of a heavy heart
His soul was liberated so we could make a new start
Romantic words into my ear, he then softly uttered
I felt my lips begin to tremble; my heart fluttered
No longer encumbered by any doubt and concern
since he'd finally declared love for me in return
Tenderly, he held me. Passionate sighs we uttered
The flames of desire burned brighter and sputtered
We kissed as the moon glowed in lucent splendor
My only thought at that moment was, "I surrender"

Timid, gutless, young man feebly muttered
Then mustered spartan courage and puttered,
And fluttered he like a dove
And stuttered to say his love,
But "Shoo - Shoo!" pretty, beloved uttered.

The moment we met our two hearts fluttered
So shy was I my words became stuttered
Rainbows covered the sky multicoloured
The exact moment love was discovered.
I could barely hear the muttered response
Yet I knew what you had uttered at once
Who needs poetry with fine fancy fonts
When the eyes say all a girl in love wants.
'Twas long ago, I no longer stutter
How I love the endearments you utter
In the quiet of night when you mutter
“I'm still the one who makes your heart flutter.”

I was looking at his eye
I was trying to remember an old story
An old play that we used to play together
An old time that we used to remember together.
In laughter, joy and trivial memories.
I was looking at his eye
Trying to scream, “Let me in!”
He uttered nothing, and in silence
A reply responded ,” The law shall prevail.”
"O Allah, praise is to You. You have clothed me. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it has been made for, and I seek Your protection from the evil of it and the evil of what it has been made for."

The rippled lake ebbs strangely silent
while memories cling to me---
there's not a tinge of you here anymore
and my fiery pulse now withers:
I roam upon the dunes of time
as current’s surge echoes like waves' blare,
your indifferent glance marks
a broken oath without even one phrase told...
How I feel heart's nudge
this mindful certainty allowing me
to grasp the quicksand of truth--
You are not coming back, ever,
that from instinct's light, I finally concede
when quelled language
numb as a crest unobtrusively waning

This is perhaps one of my poems which touched
me dearly when I wrote it. I felt the anguish
of not being able to speak what the heart needed
to express by using metaphors and symbolism.
With sincerity, I did not expect to get an HM. Thank you.

Through the path of life,
We undergo some strife,
But we found each other as we type,
Our finger matched,
Through the technology screen,
And taught us to believe,
That friendship comes,
From up above,
And matched us in this crazy thing,
Fingers matched,
Walking together,
On this chosen path,
As we type and read what we write,
Getting to know each other,
Is such a delight,
Our fingers resemble,
All that is real,
In this day and age,
We are lucky to feel,
Each others heart,
As our fingers do the talking.
