Uttered

"Words uttered in anger can weigh heavy on the heart, but those uttered in contrition absolves a sorrowful soul." ~ authored by poet
Apologetic words, asking forgiveness were uttered Each one spoken with apprehension as he stuttered Absolved from carrying the weight of a heavy heart His soul was liberated so we could make a new start Romantic words into my ear, he then softly uttered I felt my lips begin to tremble; my heart fluttered No longer encumbered by any doubt and concern since he'd finally declared love for me in return Tenderly, he held me. Passionate sighs we uttered The flames of desire burned brighter and sputtered We kissed as the moon glowed in lucent splendor My only thought at that moment was, "I surrender" November 4, 2022 Writing Challenge - Unburden a "U" Word Contest Sponsored by Constance La France

Your imagination (or experience recall) is so well adjoined to the craft you employ in these pieces, Miss Jenna. Virtually any of them could be contest winners, but standing on their own, they're just damn fine poetry.

That’s true but it’s not always what we do. Putting loved ones first should be priority. Thanks for commenting, Frederic.

So beautiful, Jenna. Called to mind times I should have done precisely as you write. Unfortunately, men are from Mars! Sometimes we pass the most wonderful opportunities to express our love.

Sometimes we take our loved ones for granted. That’s sorrowful. Thanks, Milt.

I'll be in trouble after showing this to my wife--she'll expect me to write something this romantic with such beautiful sentiment. Lovely job, I hope it doesn't put me in the doghouse (again). --Dave

aww, David. I don't wish to be the cause of a domestic problem... lol Please write something that will redeclare your love, kiss her in the moonlight, and make her surrender to you. Thanks for the terrific compliments and let me know if you are allowed to sleep in your own bed tonight.
