The Unsupervised Stop Sign
STOP!
Red lights flash crimson warnings
As arias of bloodred omens swirl about
My heedless headstrong rush past clanging signs
Into a deserted briar filled footpath in desertion.
SLOW DOWN!
Before unattended bowers of simpering weeds
Teach my mindless feet of snares and waiting snakes
While grieving angelic hosts
Sing pathetiques of harbingers.
DANGER!
Scoffing ignorance of neon auguries,
Captured

The Unsupervised Stop Sign

every time feelings and fists collide
crooning in the midst of the earthquake
akin to lamenting the

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
Blazing sun stuns my eyes, sunglasses offer no respite.
Clammy hands tremble, as the steering wheel begins vibrating.
Arsenic heat suffocates, wrapping its hands around my neck.
Parched lips beg to hydrate,
but 'Jeptha Creed' increases the intensity.
Thunder rumbles through my body,
as lightning strikes in 'desert storm' flashbacks -
all I see is red flags, red lights and red

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
It was late at night and I couldn't sleep
restless as a caged bird I flew the coop
in my 1964 blue thunderbird...
I saw him from the corner of my eye
cradling an empty bottle of gin
I rolled down the window and asked him
if he needed a place to stay for the

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
There was a time, when the sun was our guiding light,
amidst clouds of twilight that paint our skylines bright.
There were no misleading traffic signals,
halting our ride into the mysterious nights.
A shimmering candle was the spark of truth within-
reflecting intuitions that guide through confusions.
Life was then a simple highway with fewer obstacles,
yet in our ignorance

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
They rode to matches in an old school bus.
The rookies at the front, old players in back,
the coach, by the driver, "she's one of us!".
Wore team colors out, came home wearing black.
An ice hockey team, the pride of Humbolt,
met a 40 ton semi that just didn't break.
Sixteen young players' futures bought to a halt
by a

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
Flirting with disaster
On this fast-moving highway of life;
Speed demons incurably infected
With the disease of impatience.
I tremble with disgust
When shaken by a fierce gust of wind
Engendered by ill-advised velocity.
Acknowledge me, disrespecting demons.
Don't barrel your way through as if I'm not there,
Lest you recklessly careen off
An approaching curve on the road;
A hefty price

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
When no one looks, just do what's right
Like an unsupervised stop sign
Don't just do right when you're in sight
For, honesty is so divine
Put your soul on your own pedal
Put your body on your own wheel
Ride on to claim your own medal
Brace your mind in covers of steel
Ride

displaying fake luminosity on overambitious mind.

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
When siren screams become silent
to ears for which a heart has stopped;
billions of beats - a billion thoughts,
are not stilled, they survive
in pauses that stare, and dreams
that start awake
and in journals where scribbles trace
where those thoughts rhyme and wander.
There's a sign ahead, at trail's end,
yet no one's

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
The unsupervised stop sign travels all over town
With no one there to watch him, he made departure from the ground.
Off he went o’er yonder, and up and down the city street
He’d stop in front of speeding cars, and then rinse and repeat,
It must be such a shock to to see a sign when before

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
In the mist of the journey’s penultimate mile,
at the edge of the fading fulcrum of future obscure,
at the door-step of dusk the sunset swansong resonates
for the forlorn essence silhouetted in confounding stillness.
As the twilight time is tinged by the spent sun,
sinking within the strata of the discontent dust,
with the cornucopia of the

The Unsupervised Stop Sign
THE UNSUPERVISED STOP SIGN
STOP! Said the sign at the crossing,
Plain and bold in red.
But I was in a hurry
And had to get home to bed.
The sign was quite unsupervised
And no-one was in sight.
So nobody would see me
At this time of the night.
I put my lights on
