Dawning

No greater gift do I have than me.
To give all that I be, weakness and steel,
Handed unafraid, exuberantly tossed,
Into union where none became one.
~~
Innocence dares not question
The mating, as fear slinks away, premonitions abound.
Requited concubine hybrid, happiness,
Relishes its renewed tug-o-war with joy.
~~
To the birth. Beyond life.
Gossamer emotions cancel idiot notions
Categorizing songs as just notations,
Crimson rosebuds as just flora.
~~
Unscheduled, my realm shatters it’s cocoon.
Aromas from nascent recipes
Tease ravishing appetites that crave a tasting
Of essences sneering at mere existence.
~~
Forming a queue, foaming at the prospect,
Of satiating hungers awakening from
Pre-eternal shackled hibernations.
And at first bite…
~~
The soul’s pre-natal starvation
Is erased by eucharistic intimacy
Of the infant us.
“Mornin’, Eve…”

Premium Memberthis trail of words

Had they left this trail of words
Leading to a shadow
Concealing a mystery
As a challenge
Perhaps
A map-less guide
To an unknown horizon
Peeking over a surprised sunrise
Maybe an invitation
To an unscheduled celebration
A moment of awakening
Dancing atop a pointed moon
Awash in a midnight surf
A wrinkled paper
Scribbled upon
By life.

Unscheduled Flight

A black fly in midwinter
has burgled the warm air of the kitchen.

It struggles for height,
a brittle-winged air-bender
reaching for plateaus,
higher footstools,
grasping for spice shelves
or the slope of a slick cooker hood.

The splutter
of an over-revved engine,
the bolted clicking of insectivore plates.

Up it lifts again
turning like a wounded helicopter
only to crash-land
on a dish of cooling porridge.

Mired, it scoops gravity out
from a clogged exoskeleton
staggers to a porcelain edge.
Heavy airfoils battle a steam laden air.

Its weight now cannot be sustained.

It falls to the hard kitchen floor
spins disorientated on its back.
A dervish dance.
Sibilant thunder-claps
of a now dismantled buzzing.

Will it try again
to lift its wreckage?

Between the paused silence
of a ticking wall-clock
a burnt-out fuselage trembles.

Nothing disembarks.

My Dream Vacation

MY DREAM VACATION

Sharing juicy oranges on a dusty Spanish pavement
The cloudless sky offers no respite from the relentless sun
Free of time concerns, we cycle to our next ad-lib adventure
Guided by suggestions not structure
Blown by the wind, we wing it to wherever
We are not bound by the books

They say: "life is just beyond your comfort zone"
I would add "memories do not follow a timetables"
The unknown awaits the unscheduled

I will long remember the feel of the sticky juice on my hands but the memories of luxury dinners have faded

But planless isn't always painless
Carefully consider your companion
A timid friend will be too traditionalistic to escape
An incautious friend may be imprudent or frivolous
A considered choice of companion opens off-road experiences

Be brave, be adventurous
Escape from conservative chains
Liberated, fly free.

My Baby

Pay attention to the complete charge,
the complete charge is the most extra impute of all.
Criminal, complete charge.
Down, down, down into the darkness of the complete charge,
Gently it goes - the unscheduled, the duplicate, the surplus.

I saw the the brown containerful of my generation destroyed,
How I mourned the brown bottle.
Now chromatic is just the thing,
To get me wondering if the brown bottle is colored.

Why would you think the continuous change is little?
the continuous change is the most big action of all.
Down, down, down into the darkness of the continuous change,
Gently it goes - the deep, the massive, the monolithic.

Premium MemberTomorrow Buys Today

Global warming is causing climate change:
while ice sheets at the poles are melting fast;
as oceans and deserts increase their range.

Whales and porpoises are beaching, so strange,
nearing extinction, they're among the last:
global warming is causing climate change.

Folks are acting like a dog with the mange,
scratching out a living, lost to the past;
as oceans and deserts increase their range.

Tomorrow buys today; that's the exchange:
greed pushes progress, with few questions asked:
global warming is causing climate change.

Though over time, theories interchange:
the amount of damage is far too vast:
as oceans and deserts increase their range.

We've lost all hope that time will rearrange
these unscheduled changes: the die's been cast.
Global warming is causing climate change
as oceans and deserts increase their range.

Premium MemberThe Dark Potential

(a Senryu string poem)

High school girls are just
thoughtless and vague - too damn
dumb to be afraid.

Trusting too quickly
- believing things that are said
- unaware of risk.

Small and powerless,
chickens cooped from feral foxes
- peaches for picking.

So accompany
me on walks, to the store and
guard me like a penny.

Look - we're women
- junior grade - and conscious
of dark potential.

Breasted Americans
face a dark rainbow of threats
- we are mortal.

But ANY of us can
encounter unscheduled evil
like nightmares from hell.

Yes, that means you rough
tough males who glide through life as
if untouchable.

Premium MemberFully Charged

This is an age old story
it could be a country song.
Some may find it enchanting
while others say it’s wrong.

I like home automation
and the feeling of control
the response to simple voice
commands seems to satisfy my soul.

I got into it slowly
but it soon got out of hand
when on a cold black-Friday
I bought an automated man.

His physique wasn’t all that defined
and I wouldn’t have called him handsome
but soon I was trolling the aftermarket
for jail-broken enhancements.

He can’t take his eyes off me,
his omelettes are the best,
and when he puts his arms around me
- he never needs to rest.

My mom appreciates him,
his work ethic has her impressed.
She has no idea how handy he is
as he helps me get undressed.

My friends say, “Wow, you look HAPPY!”
I feel I’m blooming like a flower.
I anxiously wait for him to fully charge
and we have unscheduled hours.

p.s. I write short stories too =]

Ghost Train

Through relentless twisted shadows a whistle stop emerges from the hallows
Wispy trails from cold stone yards gather - dance macabre - murmurs of ghostly chatter
Unseen innocents wait to ride again - empty echoes scream recurring pain;
Trailing icy fingertips trace the midnight skies as ominous black coach and cab arrives
Unexplained lights appear on vanishing tracks – no return, no way off - too late to go back;
In thundering clouds of bottomless fog unscheduled express with power throbs
Throttle open – no dead man switch – smashes through signs of trestle ditch;
Engine #113 nosedives into mists - plaintive whistle cries in sulphur scented abyss

Premium MemberThe Hounds of Hell

Summer’s almost over - that convalescent state
where successive modes of pleasure
were the order of the day.
Now fall commands awakening -
drive simplicity away! The hounds
of hell are yelping that it’s time to banish play.
They cry “forget unscheduled hours
that owned no share of care - the virtual halls
are scheduled and we’ll soon see you there.”
No apotropaic magic can delay my slated fate -
to pixelated halls of learning I must soon acclimate.

Premium MemberWhat It Really Means

A day when everything goes your way
I must be doing something wrong

when you do everything on your checklist
   Haven't I forgotten something?

when all those checks arrive in the mail
   How many will bounce?

when your wife listens to you and says you're right
Are you sure you're feeling well, dear?

when your teenagers clean up their rooms voluntarily
Go ahead and treat yourself to some recreational marijuana, guys

when your boss gives you an unscheduled raise
Uh-oh. What miracle does he want out of me now?...

when you get in the swiftest check-out line in the supermarket
when you make every green light on your commute to and from work
when you win Powerball AND Little Lotto
when you get zero telemarketing calls
when this dream ends with
a wet, sloppy kiss from
your loyal, trusty dog...

She rode on the back of a cyclone’s tail.
We did not put it together until years later.
I am sure she was standing
Probably did not fall once, knowing her.
She left on the back of Hailey’s Comet,
The only one who saw it, as it was completely unscheduled.

Premium MemberIn Collaboration With the Stars At the Claremont Resort, Health Spa, and Tennis Club

Bay area's crown jewel, The Claremont,
Where age 24 Steve Jobs and I talked,
Well, him--as to the future--I was shocked,
The guy aimed high, humble, who want for naught.

An unscheduled stop by a young Prince Charles,
That shook the hands of this Hawaiian kid.
Isabel Sanford's inebriated,
Big Head for A. M. Talk Show With The Stars.

The moment when Chris Kristofferson and,
Geraldo Rivera stuck in the lift,
Then there's Joan Baez mom, a bit of a rift,
Some more late check-in, Waylon Jennings band.

The resort, like San Francisco, midway,
Pearls in an oyster, San Francisco Bay.

***Same hotel where the late Ricky Nelson band stayed with wife Kristin who's actor Mark Harmon(--sister) from the show NCIS, who also visited there, whereto, I have already submitted a sonnet.

We Are Having

The deafening stillness she made of the unspoken, as another example of my roaring disclosure, passes.

As I look at her back of perpetual moving lips, I observe from following trying to learn of the unmentioned.

As I maintain my diligence, conversations stretch in every direction, than the one I anticipated.

I follow closely for my moment to spring into action, but not yet, as the senseless ramblings went onward, then silence--that happened at flank speed that I was only able to utter the word "What...", when she had told me a set of twins, then she concluded by admonishing me for missing the appointment because of an unscheduled conference at the corporate headquarters,

...and pardoned me while I remained in hysteria.

Pride With a Y

Everything going on in the hotel is known and controlled by me.
Disturbances, unplanned interruptions, or unscheduled events don't happen.
Anything that should happen, will.
Anything that shouldn't, won't.
Have no fear, I'm in control.
Forget everything, and let me handle it.
Be pleased and have whatever you want.
Relax in your room and be taken care of.
Consume masterly made cuisine,
Beautifully sung live performances,
Attractive escorts,
And lovely spas, pools, salons, game rooms
With whatever else you crave.
There's no such thing as "no" or "unable to provide" here.
You have my word, you don't need to leave.
I swear all that there is, is here for you.
Thanks to I, Pride with a y.
