Premium MemberA billion Dollar Soul

A billion can buy a bushel of silence
hectares of prime farmland or flashy private jets
It can buy a turd in stilettos and a pyrite hearted mistress.

A billion can buy you a secondhand spaceship
or an endless good run of wall street luck
it can buy a bloated lip- plastic nips and butts.

With a billion you can casually jump burning ships
change the scented steps of a double helix
or buy a fresh orphaned kidney if you so wish.
A billion can buy you onto underage islands
but then again so can 50 cents.
A billion can buy a cure but it won't
it will just make a billion more by prolonging disease.

They say money can't buy happiness
but I'd rather die on a champagne yacht
with half dozen painted chicks
than all alone under a soggy bridge.

A billion can quarry a slab of pink granite stone
but not a stitch of silk will anyone own
when death unchains the soul.

Premium MemberNew World Adromena

New world Andromena is not chained to a rock long
Cetus thinks he can overpower her, but he is not that strong
Andromena no longer waits for the likes of Perseus to save her.
She unchains herself, being brilliant, whose clear mind is pure.

She is being chased now, someone warns me as they watch the show.
New World Andromena has wily ways, she knows which way to go.
She turns into a labyrinth, and Cetus is pinned before he gets out his chain.
She is New World Andromena, please forget not her name.

Premium MemberHoneysuckle Hope

out my glass window
sways the silenced sunflower
facing herbs of gold
and silver-winged butterflies
glazed in honeysuckle hope

But in this darkness
I knit lyrical tankas;
Ink that unchains gate
to glistening moon gardens
where I'll flee from heartless ghosts

So if tomorrow
there's no poetry or prose
remember these words
as these are suppressed daydreams
of a caged blue nightingale

Premium MemberHello Spring

slice of sun unchains
                             cascading blue waterfall
                                teals glide in deep lake

Aches and Pains

Everyone has aches and pains
When getting older; who complains
Depends, at times, on who refrains
From doing all the kvetching.*

For any sympathy one gains
May dwindle if attention wanes
With every detail one explains,
The story always stretching.

Each bemoaning thus unchains
Annoyance as one’s patience drains
Although what hopefully remains
Is empathy worth fetching.

*Yiddish word for complaining

Premium MemberQuatorzain the Name

on the verge of love,
mutual discovery unveiled
in their secret world;
lips to lips ,sealed,
hearts in passion pound
ardour's whispers sound;
need unchains desire,
pleasure's fever fans a fire,
each flame thrusting higher;
in duet's crescendo choir
realisation exceeds hope,
promise, with trust elope;

enchantment metamorphose
as love,sublime,grows

Not Me

IT ISN ‘t ME

It is not four score years that I exist
Though calendar and records say it’s so
And I do not comprise this mortal coil
Though it may seem to many and to me

Some say we live one life then candle fades
Or having sat the test must pay the price
To then exist in bliss or endless pain
A curse at least of tedium sans end

I’ll not be limited by tyrant time
Though substance of this form may tell me so
The infinite unchains us from this frame
Releasing untold lives: were and will be

Imagine all the stories we might tell
Inscribed or dramatized for our delight
Adventures and great games to focus mind
And give us purpose to participate

Yes I in here-and-now am what you see
But will not be this for eternity

New Beginnings - a Shadorma

Freedom is,
   To break the shackles
   Of the yoke,
   That binds me.
   New beginings, no more work,
   Unchains liberty.

World Peace: the Miracle of Understanding

Wonder of wonders if God would grant one miracle to me.
Over hills and dales, here and across the seas…amid:
Racists, radicals, and warriors who rant worldwide,
Ladies and Gentlemen: laughing loudly, in disbelief.
Desire of my heart is the miracle of understanding.

People, who understand, increase peace in their hearts
Eternally gained wisdom that unchains love’s doors.
As the miracle of miracles becomes reality,
Complete eradication of angry deeds…understanding—
Ending all wars

Nineteen Hours

Nineteen hours to strip away,
As time devours every day,
And beats the clock 'till black and blue,
All distance closed with thoughts of you.

Nineteen hours are counted down,
In empty spaces, town to town;
I walk the line mapped out in vain,
And long to be with you again.

Nineteen hours parting us
By plane or train or car or bus;
In morning, noon or day or night,
Feeds the need to hold you tight.

Nineteen hours turns the key,
Unchains the aching heart of me,
And fades to mist when all is said
When we have all our lives ahead.
