Honeysuckle Hope

out my glass window
sways the silenced sunflower
facing herbs of gold
and silver-winged butterflies
glazed in honeysuckle hope

But in this darkness
I knit lyrical tankas;
Ink that unchains gate
to glistening moon gardens
where I'll flee from heartless ghosts

So if tomorrow
there's no poetry or prose
remember these words
as these are suppressed daydreams
of a caged blue nightingale

Dear Ink Empress, your vibrant yet somber imagery brings my heart's imagination to a deep, dark place rich with resonating emotions of loneliness and despair. Every verse a shining facet of a poetic gem! "suppressed daydreams/of a caged blue nightingale" wow! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Fantastic poetry my friend. Every stanza a true delight to read and to comprehend. " But in this darkness I knit lyrical tankas; Ink that unchains gate to glistening moon gardens where I'll flee from heartless ghosts" The POE in my soul, simply adores this stanza , as to me it stands out especially. Another fav for me. This is indeed a true gem! God bless you .

Epress, here, in this poem, we share a situational pose…I’ve been confined to “view from my window,” make best friends with trees, dream my gardens; 2 yrs. bedridden. So, the supernatural blossoms & honeysuckle has sweet hope as well as nectar & beauty that we, like a butterfly, may find to feed ourvhungar for hope. Thank you for this poem. Hugs, sally

Hi sally, thank you for sharing your thoughts really and yes I understand how this would feel to be bedridden as i had to witness that myself for almost three years with my sister, poetry helps us go places in confinement and dream, and despite some being able to do what they can physically so many feel mentally confined too. Sad reality. You are such a talented strong soul that i look forward to reading more. Thank you so much for your visit and words i appreciate your support wholeheartedly
