Summer
season,
lively,
lots of
zest, fun.
Breeze beats
the heat.
People
on the
beach have
ice cream,
iced drinks.
Cool treats
for heat.
Women
in their
two piece
swimming
outfits
are hot,
hot, hot!
Concerts
in the
park are
upbeat.
The crowd
goes hot
hot, hot!

I am vulnerable, confused, flawed, twisted
I am what I am.
I don’t want to cook,
don’t want to clean.
I don’t want to be
A wife or a mother.
I choose what I will not be.
I can wear a six yard
or a two piece
I can shun style
And chose comfort instead.
I decide to look how I feel.
I may soar, I may burrow,
I may sail smooth
Or dive deep with in
I steer my life as per my wish.
Do not give me names
nor assign roles,
do not set standards
and place me in boxes.
I am not a commodity.
You are not the creator.
We are but children of Nature
Unbound by roles,
Both wild and free.
Let us embrace isness
and create some harmony.

Loosening her two-piece in the sun
Gail rubbed sweet cream to tan, to have fun-
With bod on a hilla
Ants crawled with much thrilla--
Ran she, exposing a burnt bun-bun !

"All a man wants, is a girl who looks good in a bikini," - Jack Freestone
TWO-PIECE OR NOT TWO-PIECE
“All a man wants,” said a chauvinist Aussie,
“Is a girl who looks good in a two-piece cossie.”
But the sort of girl that I like best
Is one who looks good in an IQ test.
Whilst long legs and cleavage are very attractive,
I much prefer a mind that it active
A beautiful body is pleasant enough,
But I need assistance with crosswords and stuff.
Of course, if pressed, I would have to admit
That over the years I’ve matured a bit.
Back in the day I might have been frisky
But, at eighty-five, it is far too risky

The silence is so empty it makes me want to scream
My tears run down my face while no one is watching
My heart is beating but also it's breaking
My head has so many thoughts just racing
My stomach is in knots I want it all to stop
This loneliness is killing me
He's gone away somewhere I can not be
Shackles and chains with no escape
Bright orange two piece suit not the latest in fashion
No family no friends no
love found anywhere
Oh and I'm the one who
put him there
Yes the silence is so empty it makes me want to....

A teenage girl, a bit of a flirt.
Lying on a beach blanket,
Yes, that one~ right over there!
Can you see that bubbling brunette?
Lays back down in her two piece, tartan,
bathing suit.
White-heart shaped glasses cover her eyes.
She rubs sun lotion on her dancer's thighs.
He cannot see her watching his physique ...
his gold, skin glistening, muscular and tweaked.
Only to the sound of far-off, roaring speed boats,
does he listen.
That summer day, so very long ago.
From which her heart....never took a furlough!

Here! Is where another love song is born
With every touch on the keys
An echo is heard on the moon
It's a sweet release
I am the writer of this love song
My wife says she wishes I was as romantic as what I write
She must be right
Considering our house started to dissolve right after
Her,
She is the lead singer in this two piece band
Her voice quivers like an earthquake
With every note I want rip my ears off
But I smile cause she is the love of my youth
These imperfections make us beautiful beings
Even petals on resplendent flowers must fall but that doesn't make them any less beautiful
I remind myself
I am alive today by luck
I desire to let these sinister hands play the garros roland on the strings of what I stole from my father's house
With every touch
I give breath to a lovely symphony
A sweet release
My wife in twines herself with a vibrating Harmony
Blithely and resilient as she is
We are a terrible mixture
Two butterflies flying in a cocoon.

He’s somebody’s grandpa I bet, we all said.
He had wandered into our family reunion around nine.
Grandma rolled her eyes and set him in front of the TV.
He smelled like chew, his flannel shirt was a bit wrinkled.
He was unkempt but clean, a relative maybe?
No one knew, but we kept our opinions to ourselves.
He lit up a stogie and watched the news past our heads.
Grandma brought him a tray with bacon, eggs and two piece of toast.
As she turned to go he gave her a playful pat on her petootsie ootsie.
We young ones laughed; earning sharp looks from our parents.
We never did find out who the guy was, but figured he was an Iowan.
This was 1962, when children did not know the ways of grownups.
I have never forgotten the pat on grandma’s petootsie ootsie
Or the way the old dude’s face lit up when he looked at me and grinned.
I pegged him as Granddaddy’s replacement, but never saw him again.

In Doom, two eyes
Stares constantly
Let not open
The Door of Tomb
Lest the wind shall pass
Through those eyes
Let not anyone
Drink two drops o’ water
Till the dust settles
Let not anyone
Have two piece o’ bread
Till it’s all bright
In Doom two eyes
Stares constantly.

She sat in her two-piece green and navy plaid bathing suit.
Alone, this beautiful, serene teen!
Her tan knees drawn to her chest, the loving, wonderful lake
water gently dripping down her gorgeous, tanned back.
The lapping of the gentle waves beneath the wooden pier upon
which she sat.
The sun.....setting so softly behind the versant trees.
It's golden reflection on her sleepy lake.
Summer's end~ ah,her brown eyes filled with tears.
Watching her season friend disappear in that sunset's
gentle, loving hands.
The boats, the fishing, oh that beautiful wind, rustling
Through tall trees, as she in a hammock lay.
She would go home by train in the morning.
Carrying her Samsonite luggage, with gleaming initials.
Bidding adieu to her loving, joyful, summer land.
So wonderfully endearing!
And the kisses she tasted on sugary, summer starlit evenings.

you wonder where i have been
you wonder do i still write poems
you wonder if i still go to the beach
you wonder my left hand is still right
i wonder if you still read my poems
i wonder do you still get a kick out of finding the goal
i wonder if you still wear that pitch black two piece sometimes when you read my poems
i wonder if your right hand causes you to go left on occasion
together, we merge to float into an oasis of curiosity and wonder
together, we connect to become those two hearts that beat as one
together, we laugh as we get all bug eyed when we see Charlie again
together, we find the answers that we seek on yet another way to Love....

~Echoes of Yesterday~
Walking on the Boardwalk
on a hot, steamy, summer day.
In a two piece rose bathing suit, twas decades ago!
I was only seven and seeing the Atlantic,
for the very first time.
I loved the waves, oh !
I bought a dear bracelet that I still own.
With silver circular disks and sailboats in
each glistening so!
The salt water taffy was like manna from heaven.
To this French-braided young girl, only of seven.
Nobody dressed as oddballs or freaks I see today!
Not one person, a walking crayon nor a billboard
proudly,displaying a shirt with hate.
Kindness ,good manners, respect were forever in play.
And, tragically, I can't say the same for today.
So forgive me, if I truly don't understand this God hating,
negative, lost world.
My mind hungers for the once present sanity,
the love, the humanity and the lost sweetness.
Of a salt water taffy world.

A GRAND DAY AT THE BEACH
Their bodies on stilts, a day in the sand.
Old ladies in suits, san stretch marks and tanned.
Sue’s covered in lime, Bess in polka-dots.
Ellen wears a wild two-piece ~ leopard spots.
Three friends on the beach, grand-shadows in sand.

We really thought this was virgin soil
When we sailed upon this land so vast
As we drifted into a secluded cove
Thought we'd stumbled upon the past
Natives sure looked very much like us
But they wore the skimpiest clothes
With only one or two piece coverings
Not a bad looking group by jove
We motioned to them in sign language
We're friendly and we've come in peace
But much to our utter astonishment
They spoke our language with ease
Seems we had stumbled on a sandy beach
On the southwest coast of the state
These natives were actually vacationers
They thought our sailing ship was great
It was really all quite embarrassing
We played dumb and pretended we knew
Said it was our lame attempt at humour
As we thanked them and bid them adieu
So we all got back in our sailing ship
And waved them a fond farewell
We'll never forget our trip to the past
It's a tale for our grandkids to tell

looking at a picture of the ocean
wishing i was there and imagining like a muppet baby
all of a sudden, there i am like MWAHHHH!
the sound of the waves tempt me and i am pulled into the cool water
just like that, all my problems and my stresses go away
i look further into the ocean and watch the dolphins play
the skies are so blue and the clouds are so white
the beach is blank and the peace is practically perfect
then from out of nowhere, a stunningly beautiful older woman appears
she has on a black two piece and is wearing seduction shades
right when i wave at her and she smiles and waves back.....THE DAMN ALARM GOES OFF!
and alas....the story of my life continues....
