Premium Member Artillery Rain

~Perfect Rain~

I can see!
All the tribulations around
A rage against the burning wind
Nobody hears the crackling sounds in my voice
Everybody avoids feeling the smoke hidden within
A rain so deep it burns all the enamel off my skin
A rain that cut my soul in half
Two-piece that will not entwine or merge down a dragon path
I feel this eternity has no ending blaze
Trigger happy rain, extinguishing a bonfire around my rose.

I will sleep under the artillery stars tonight
With the perfection of my fiery crystal lava teardrops
Washing the ashes of my face,
Suppressing the overwhelming fear
Knowing no one will ever, "BLAME IT ON THE RAIN!"
As long as the torch keeps loading another artillery round.

Premium Member The Girl On the Boardwalk

                  ~Echoes of Yesterday~

          Walking on the Boardwalk
on a hot, steamy, summer day.
In a two piece rose bathing suit, twas decades ago!
I was only seven and seeing the Atlantic,
          for the very first time.
I loved the waves, oh !

I bought a dear bracelet that I still own.
With silver circular disks and sailboats in
          each glistening so!
The salt water taffy was like manna from heaven.
To this French-braided young girl, only of seven.

Nobody dressed as oddballs or freaks I see today!
Not one person, a walking crayon nor a billboard
          proudly,displaying a shirt with hate.
Kindness ,good manners, respect were forever in play.
And, tragically, I can't say the same for today.

So forgive me, if I truly don't understand this God hating,
          negative, lost world.
My mind hungers for the once present sanity,
the love, the humanity and the lost sweetness.
Of a salt water taffy world.

Premium Member Lake Geneva Girl, Remembers

A teenage girl, a bit of a flirt.
Lying on a beach blanket,
Yes,  that one~ right over there!
Can you see that bubbling brunette?

Lays back down in her two piece, tartan,
bathing suit.
White-heart shaped glasses cover her eyes.
She rubs sun lotion on her dancer's thighs.

He cannot see her watching his physique ...
his gold, skin glistening, muscular and tweaked.
Only to the sound of far-off, roaring speed boats,
does he listen.
That summer day, so very long ago.
From which her heart....never took a furlough!

Premium Member A Bright New World

We really thought this was virgin soil
When we sailed upon this land so vast
As we drifted into a secluded cove
Thought we'd stumbled upon the past

Natives sure looked very much like us
But they wore the skimpiest clothes
With only one or two piece coverings
Not a bad looking group by jove

We motioned to them in sign language
We're friendly and we've come in peace
But much to our utter astonishment
They spoke our language with ease

Seems we had stumbled on a sandy beach
On the southwest coast of the state
These natives were actually vacationers
They thought our sailing ship was great

It was really all quite embarrassing
We played dumb and pretended we knew
Said it was our lame attempt at humour
As we thanked them and bid them adieu

So we all got back in our sailing ship
And waved them a fond farewell
We'll never forget our trip to the past
It's a tale for our grandkids to tell

Sudden Evil

In high school I was bullied by one kid...
For three years he picked on me,
made fun of me,
and tried me on every possible occasion....
Understand,
I am a peaceful man,
a mediator,
he took that as weak....
My senior year he tried me
and I put my fist in his mouth,
he fell back and I repeatedly stomped him until my boys pulled me off.....
He wanted to fight me because his sister through herself at me
during the Halloween party the night before.
I took advantage,
like when lady Guinevere came to Lancelot..
I was Micheal Myers
she was a naughty school girl!!
I did it out of spite,
To provoke a fight.
I wanted to whoop his ass
I was playing football,
in weight training,
and hung with the thugs,
My brothers,
the streets were home!!!
I wanted to whoop his ass.
I hit him with a two piece with a biskit...

Listen

Listen for I will only say this once, you don't seem to understand you've created a damaging wall.
Listen for I will only say this twice, your heart and mind are cold for you have numb you emotions.
Listen for I will only say this last time, you heart plays to a sad tune.
Where are you now? Because you mine is somewhere else.
Could you hold onto them ? For it's not to late, like it is for us.
Don't worry, leave those sorrows behind and release that part of yourself. Be kind,be gently, and speak gently.
Don't let your two piece tongue be your shield for that's your downfall.Do you know who I am? Of course not.You who have put up road blocks which is why I say this with swollen heart.Break that wall of fear.
Listen for I will only say this once, break that wall of fear.
Listen for I will only say this twice, there more warmth in other then alone.
Listen for I tell you this the last time, make the sad tune into something vibrate.
I say this because I love you enough to say this, the past is past tomorrow tomorrow but we only can take what we get today.

Love and Its Irony

Love And Its Irony by Sumisha Chandan

With love right around the corner,
a checkered pink pant
fitted well with a manly mink
has its own alibi.
With a pink pant and the trinket down its part,
no one loves love for a while.

Loneliness takes you to the same corner
this time it is a white and a blue collar,
with black checkered pants.
You run into love this time
to find, it wearing a fine dress
around its corner.
You want it to come your way
but the ways have changed.

The distance is enough,
for a retake of the pink pant and the two piece collar.
You run towards the same corner
You find love waiting with its red dress,
waiting to be kissed & hugged.
You realize it's a mistake you make,
to think love comes in beautiful ways.

The next time you see a purple faced pant
don't forget to carry it home,
to stitch it well with pink.
'Cause it hurts
the love who could be yours,
sitting on the same corner
begging for someone
who could be you
A spectacled disaster!!!

A GRAND DAY AT THE BEACH

Their bodies on stilts, a day in the sand.
Old ladies in suits, san stretch marks and tanned.
Sue’s covered in lime, Bess in polka-dots.
Ellen wears a wild two-piece ~ leopard spots.
Three friends on the beach, grand-shadows in sand.

Sam the Clever Mouse

There was a mouse
That lived in a big house
His room was a small hole
He lived with his friend Lucy the mole

One day he had a thought
“How do I raid the kitchen without being caught?”
He asked Lucy and she said be smart
And follow your heart

It was a nice thoughtful slogan
But he had to be aware of the shogun
Sam made plans of what to do
He discussed it with Lucy too

He went into the kitchen and stole two piece of cheese
They were Chinese and Japanese
He went the next day to the kitchen
And was fascinated when he saw a pigeon

The pigeon was smart
But could not catch Sam because he was driving a fast kart
He fell down and was in great pain
And never went to the kitchen again

Social Change

my school colors
brooks brothers navy blue
and establishment gold
were God-awful choices
for Catholic girls
being educated beyond
their parents' means.

seventeen, out of high school
ready for life
without restrictions
I was prime
for the times
revolutionary ideas
about life loving and living
flower-power dreams
unbelievably believable.

twelve years of stateliness
and I was ready
for a tie-dyed change of mind
opportunity came
in a California cotillion
formal dress not required.

I left the "Beach Party"
two piece red-checked
belly-button cover-up behind
and never looked back.

Through the narrow window of time, I see fleeting shadows of lives that remain unfulfilled,
Men bound to desks like to foreign altars, captive in routine and silence,
Souls enclosed in a shell of paper and numbers, with hearts beating under the cold light's clocks,
Once hunters of dreams and stars, now hunters of signatures and senseless approvals,
Strangers in their own skin, gritting their teeth and facing endless monotony,
Where is the fire that once burned in their chests, melting the chains of conventions and fear?
Now there remains only the echo of a silent scream, lost in the noise of glass and concrete,
In a landscape of dreams extinguished under heavy steps, of hopes melting under the cold light,
It is a dance of despair in two-piece suits, a game of endless shadows,
A futile attempt to tame a storm that no longer comes, that can no longer be felt,
But perhaps, one day, they will break these invisible walls that keep them captive in silence,
And they will rediscover that primordial force, that light unafraid of the darkness within them.
Perhaps then, the old man will rise from the ashes of time, not as a myth, but as a living truth,
He will burn again with an undying flame, daring to be, to burn, to live freely,
With his heart open to the sky, without fears, without chains, only with the desire to be whole,
He will be a song of freedom in the wind, a story told under the endless sky of hope,
And then, in a world that has forgotten its dreams, he will bring light and be a guiding star,
An endless journey to the self, a rebirth of the fire that never ceased to burn.
