Summer Hills At Sunset-Lake Como

She sat in her two-piece green and navy plaid bathing suit. Alone, this beautiful, serene teen! Her tan knees drawn to her chest, the loving, wonderful lake water gently dripping down her gorgeous, tanned back. The lapping of the gentle waves beneath the wooden pier upon which she sat. The sun.....setting so softly behind the versant trees. It's golden reflection on her sleepy lake. Summer's end~ ah,her brown eyes filled with tears. Watching her season friend disappear in that sunset's gentle, loving hands. The boats, the fishing, oh that beautiful wind, rustling Through tall trees, as she in a hammock lay. She would go home by train in the morning. Carrying her Samsonite luggage, with gleaming initials. Bidding adieu to her loving, joyful, summer land. So wonderfully endearing! And the kisses she tasted on sugary, summer starlit evenings.          March 30, 2020 10am PST

Greetings again..dearest Lindsay! I really did not write it to make people feel better)) I heard a song that drew me back to that point in time! This is the perfect time to recall all those special times in your life. Look at old special photographs. I was thinking of a great fun time in AZ, years ago white water rafting. This is our time to shine with gratitude for all those terrific moments. Our countres have survived Holicausts, world wars, tsunamis and worse, Look well, therefore to this day, Lindsay. Rejoice and be glad in it! Love, Panagiota xx

Lake Como is divine and so is this poem Panagiota. Thoughts of serene beauty at this troubling time helps ease the fears. Thank you for this beautiful gem. Keep safe my beautiful friend. xxoo

Hello Connie! I am thrilled you liked this poem. I don't know why this thought came to me at all. I can tell you it occurred when no news is on. One needs to be on a news sabbatical. Do something good for others. Call someone, text or email. We can't put happiness on HOLD. Bad for us and those who know us! Love you...Panagiotaxx (practice positivity, it works.)

Hello, Darlene! So glad you felt you were there...honestly, it was so beautiful. Almost holy. Even though we were on vacation There was none from God. We'd all go to Mass at Lake Geneva on SUNDAY'S ~ those summers. "remember the Sabbath~ to keep it holy" our parents made sure God was the center of our lives. Thank you for commenting,,,Panagiota xx

Thank you Gershon...I agree! Going to someone's priivate, modest lake front home...so perfect. No TV, no Internet. Awesome! Their dad read us stories or told ghostly ones. A character he was! At night when windy, I could hear waves lapping the shore..we all slept in bunkbeds and never shut up ! I loved sunsets there. I used to draw pictures of that scene...thank you not only for the read. But the generosity to comment. Rainbow wishes, Panagiota xx
