Premium Membercan I turn on the light

Mom! Dad! Mom! Dad! The young girl was inconsolable that night.
I know I saw a faerie zooming around my room; can I turn on the light?
Her parents called her imagination silly and gave an emphatic “no!”
When they left, the faerie felt sorry for her, so she gave off a light with a glow.

Don'T Turn On the Light

I see my reflection
and it reminds me of a deep well
whose dark surface
bubbles and distorts whatever image
manages to survive the descent,
leaving a monster
I do not recognize
swirling in the ancient brick and mortar
seeking purchase
in that which it reflects.

Premium MemberTurn On the Furnace

Don't turn on the furnace yet it's only early November
If we can make it lets wait till December
Wear some fussy socks for your feet
A woolen cap on your head as you sleep
Sweaters and scarfs and mittens too
Cuddling under a blanket for two
We got to do what we got to do
Dang the Inflation of twenty twenty two
We got to eat so use less heat
The price of gas has got us beat
Doing without and making do
Duck tape those old shoes
Last years fashion is good enough
For Christmas don't expect new stuff
A recycle gift from your closet will do
Since you never wore it it's new to you
Eating out just not happening
Home cooking thanks to crazy old kook Joe Biden
So when we gather like Whos for all to see
Around our missing Christmas tree
Who can we thank for our profound misery
All together from the young to the old
Let's go Brandon! we scream for our Inflation woes.

Premium MemberLet's Turn On the Telle

Turn on the telle watch wives with knives
Murder on CCTV, victims lose their lives
Turn on the telle, no one write a script
There’s a post-mortem in a darkened crypt
Cops chasing crims, drunken street fights
Nothing to entertain what a load of ****
Turn on the telle, comedy nowhere to be seen
Instead, Botox tarts and live sex on your screen
Let’s turn on the telle, killer by the sea
A victim in the lift on secondhand TV
Let’s turn on the telle, Katie’s dirty mansion
Faces of the dead and worship of Charles Manson
Let’s turn on the telle, bound to be something good
A serial killers voice over, dating in the nud’
Let’s turn on the telle, bodies in black bags
Dumped in the river, by a couple of psycho lads
Let’s turn on the telle, see how he cut her throat
Battered her to death, on his flash speedboat
Let’s turn on the telle, get some new ideas
How to maim, torture, kill, down through the years
Let’s turn on the telle, see how the Kray's ruled
Sixty-nine channels of murder, has it got you fooled?

So, turn on the lights!

Never Make a Left-Hand Turn On Moss While Driving a Buick In Odessa, Texas

When I was Seven,
Six of us piled in to a shiny
New Buick.
“A quick errand across town”
It was hot
I fell asleep.
I was awoken
By the screams.
A dump truck had eaten
us up and spit out our core

A heavy blow
Against my head
Made everything go dark.
I wake up to silence.
The screaming had
stopped but the blood
From my nose
was resilient.
I slink from under
My aunt’s unconscious body.
I can’t get the door open.
My little brother cries.
I find the strength to open
The broken door that trapped us.
I pull his tiny arm from the front seat
He cries out I’m hurting him
But I’ve seen too many movies
Where cars blow up,
And all I can do is keep pulling
Till I fall back with him
In my grip.

I look at everyone mangled
And unresponsive
Inside the tiny car.
I’d never seen
So much blood.
I hug my little brother,
His head, full of glass.
He points at my nose.
But I care more
about my shoe,
it’s missing and
People have begun to stare.

Record My Voice

Record my voice on your phone,
If you miss me too much.
Come on, write it down, dear,
About how much I love you.

Record my voice on your phone,
Where I'm talking about last night.
Put my photo on your smartphone,
And don't miss me too much.

If you miss me,
Turn on my voice on the phone.
This record is carefully stored,
You will listen on the balcony.

Don't wait for me anymore, dear,
Turn on the tape and listen to my speeches.
You will continue to be close to your wife,
And you must forget our meetings.

Your phone will save my voice,
Who will read poems about us,
Our lives are always in chaos,
And the hour of parting struck.

Distance sharpens the senses,
And you want to hug me,
But I'm used to being alone,
I don't want to change anything.

Every Day I Turn On the News

every day I turn on the news
nothing but news about the virus
the virus from hell

the world is filled with fear
and my anxiety levels rise
every time I turn on the news
oh my god I say

we are all going to die
and I am so afraid
afraid of everyone
afraid of everything

dreading the latest news
and nothing relieves my fear

I watch the world
loosing its collective mind
wondering how much more of this
can we all take

I scream out
Dear God save us all
god is silent as usual

and so I realized
we are doomed
perhaps it is the end times
perhaps not

I turn off the TV
try to stay calm
hoping the madness
will not overwhelm us all

Premium MemberTurn On the The Tap

When I turn on the tap, why do I need to pee
Scientific studies haven't shown a reason for me
It reminds us of the ocean
Where we first made a motion
Is this a male thing or do ladies also need to piddle free<>

Turn On

Turn off the telly,
turn on the phone
Don’t trust what your eyes see,
the optics are wrong
Turn off the radio,
turn on the phone
Don’t believe what your ears hear,
the sound bytes waves are weak
not strong
The only thing that is true,
are the tweets I’m texting to you
The only thing that ain’t a lie,
is my Twitter alibi
So turn the phone on,
and get smart
Don’t get dumb,
give the telly the down turned thumb
Turn everything off,
except the phone
Let my tweets inform you
of everything that’s going on

Don'T Turn On the Lights

Don't turn on the lights
come back to bed
just, show me your soul
and every feeling unsaid

Let's start our future
come fill this night
you make things clearer
when you're holding me tight

The moon up above is lending her light
The stars are aligning, shining, ever so bright
A warm breeze is blowing through your soft silky hair
You're my picture of beauty as you stand over there

Come whisper your secrets
as I call out your name
bring me some comfort
and relight my flame

Don't leave for a minute
please hold my heart
together we're perfect
let's give love a start

Come be my future
come be my wife
come walk beside me
come share my life

Don't turn on the lights
come back to bed
just, show me your soul
and every feeling unsaid

Don't turn on the lights

Turn On

Painful light, short breath
Will not allow me to sleep
Sheets damp with night sweat
Cling to my back as I stir
But my bed will not have me
