Don'T Turn On the Light
I see my reflection
and it reminds me of a deep well
whose dark surface
bubbles and distorts whatever image
manages to survive the descent,
leaving a monster
I do not recognize
swirling in the ancient brick and mortar
seeking purchase
in that which it reflects.
