Nature

The is nothing more interesting, than nature
From carefully studying all the animals
That call it a home
Mainly being from the tiniest animals, to the largest

From the predators that feed on the meek
As they spill blood all day long,
Just to feed their offspring’s
While filling up their stomachs

From the Herbivores,
That mainly graze on the brown grass
Which is signaling end of the Summer season
And awaiting the beginning of the Winter season

Funny,
How the plant’s leaf color’s, will change
From the attractive green color
To the unattractive brown color

Meaning the leafs would be dry
You squash a leaf using one hand
Then blow Carbon Dioxide directly into your hand
With the hand wide open
It release the squashed leaf
Into the cold and harsh air

Within an instant
The squashed leaf will fly in the direction
The Carbon Dioxide blows towards

With only just that!
We can therefore say,
There is nothing much more interesting
Than nature

Magnolia and drone bees -2

Champak flowers, you have charms three:
Beauty, colours, and fragrance,
What among them the reason be
That drone bees dare take no chance?

Radha's charmed by Champak’s beauty
And bee is Krishna’s devotee,
How can any a close he be
To blossoms of a Champak tree?

Translations | 30.10.2025 | bee, devotee, fragrance, tree
Note: This follows the first part of the poem. A poet in Braj bhasha (see below) ventures to explain why in the spirit of ‘ God may know, but let me try’. Radha, is Lord Krishna’s love interest, and as she is cast in Champak’s charms and the drone bee being Krishna’s devotee, would sure pay due respect not to go near the flowers. What fertile imagination I would say!
Champa tujamein teen gun,
Rupa ranga aru bas,
Kaun gun aiso bhayo
Ke bhramar na aave pas?

Champa-varani Radhika,
Aur bhramar Hari ko das,
Kaise fir bhramar aave
Champa ful ke pas?

Premium MemberForts and Castles Where We Played

Boys Forts

The boys would climb up,
taking toys and making noise,
into the tall trees.

Wearing funny hats,
yelling~ were their pants on fire?
we did laugh at them.

Girls Castles

Dining room table,
with long lace cloth was our spot,
under on the floor.

Dolls were everywhere,
tea and cookies were a treat,
we were princesses.

Premium Member SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY - MYSTIC

The all consuming fragrance of the delicate white flowers.
You and I would sit in our perfect garden for hours.
The sweet scent that smothered the garden with rapture,
The bees hard at work as droplets of nectar they capture.

The emerald hues of the leave's colour are interlaced.
Sweet juice of the orange's tantalizing taste.
To be able to pick the juiciest fruit to share,
As the soft breeze gently tossed the curls in your hair.

To sit under the shade of our magnificent orange tree,
The sun sending tender rays to warm so delicately.
We'd sometimes sit in silence reading each others mind.
As love ever present grew and our souls entwined.

I remember the day we planted our enormous tree.
We laughed that it was the first of an orchard, we did agree.
Its survival was doubtful, not much more than an incipit twig.
We both tendered it carefully hoping one day it might be big.

Quite a task nurturing our funny little tropical citrus plant.
Choosing the warmest spot in the yard, so the sun could enchant.
In winter, being so careful to brush all the snow away.
My sweet darling this all seems like it happened only yesterday.

A tall tree I did climb,
on a bet of a dime.
Baby Bear said it was funny,
it was not for the big money.
The limb broke what a crime.

Premium MemberThe Cut-Out-And-Keep Guide To Trees

the silver birch
it likes to hide
so as you search
at eventide
you find it there with many friends
playing poker through the night

the common oak
a wise old man
an aging folk
since time began
grandfathers of the forest they
speak myth and folklore when they can

the sycamore
with helicopter seeds
sets out its store
among the weeds
then grows to be big and strong
from people’s picnics on which it feeds

the horse chestnut
is the conker tree
the children’s favourite
but too spikey
until they are ready later on
and why kids were late home for tea

the yew
is old
and grew
so slow
its age is in millennia
and battles from the archer’s bow

the hawthorn
its blossom white
and at dawn
as if it snowed all night
then all too soon the white has gone
a desperate case of bad stage fright

the conifer
fir, spruce and pine
a regular
likes mead and wine
to keep it warm in winter then
comes into homes at Christmas time

Premium MemberTHE CACTUS TREE -- Sing Along With Joni Mitchell

I went outside to pee
Underneath the cactus tree
But now I'm in the Ho Spittle
The cactus fell on me.

Oh the cactus tree the cactus tree
I went out to pee and it fell on me.
The cactus tree the cactus tree
It's such a mystery.

Premium MemberOuch! A Crazy Day Out

so walking through the forest
out walking on a walk
passing tree after tree after tree
then a tree showed me its bark
interesting I thought
and so too did my dog
who excitedly barked back
we had a crazy crazy walk
the tree and my dog had a talk

Premium MemberFor A Simple Smile

I had to be funny
Like a crazy monkey
I had to crawl slowly
Like a dragon on a tall tree
To extract a simple smile
From you, in style.

I had to juggle a few balls
Like a clown in countless shopping malls
I had to make a weird noise
Like a mighty sparrow on pause
For a simple smile
For a lady, in style.

For a simple smile
I had to do everything in style
Under the blazing sun
Under the brightest moon
A smile is a very beautiful thing
Woman, for that, I’ll do almost anything.

when I look at a bird
in a tree
the first thing
I notice is
its colours
are
within the lines

I'M a Pudding Royal of the Robinhood Tree

I can live twice, oh what a delight,
In the day, I'm a bat, taking flight,
With cheese for my wings, I soar so high,
To the moon and back, where cows graze the sky.

In the night, I'm a pineapple, sweet and round,
Rolling down hills, making a giggly sound,
I dance with donuts and sing with a pie,
In this topsy-turvy world, oh me, oh my!

So here I am, living a double life's trance,
As a bat in the day, and a fruit in a dance,
I'm a pudding royal of the Robinhood tree
For in the realm of whimsy, I'll forever be free!

A Bird In the Tree

Twas a bird in the tree across the street
staring at me from the uppermost limb
It seemed he was intently watching me
perhaps as curious of me as I of him

I think he was squawking profanities
though I wasn’t sure of his tweets and hoots
It appeared that he might be the jealous sort
envious of me in my fur coat and warm boots

I’m pretty sure it was envy he felt
from the sad look I could see on his face
For he had naught but feathers to warm him
and no way to escape winter’s embrace

We both decided it was time to leave
As I could feel the day getting colder
I stood to leave and felt his parting gift
splatter across my new coat’s shoulder
