My father called it tottery
Well, that is only part
Aging is really a hard time
Like handed a wobbly wheel cart

A grocery cart with one side bent
The other side bulging out
One wheel bumping, the other jammed
Shopping difficult no doubt

The white hair from years of living
Bent back from hard work, dear
Frown lines upon brow from such pain
How I wish you were near

If you were here, all would relax
Because your strength could deal
Now you are in perfect health~whole
While I wait to be healed

Premium Member Waves Role

The awake awakened with wide eyes wide-opened.
Calls of the screaming sea, calling calls ceaselessly.
Pound-pounding ears attend, weakening abandon,
wend sea claps yonder, and then only beyond then,
toasting impacts extend hosting eyes to pretend.
Gestures the forgiving, bestirs the towering,
ceaseless battering and charging colliding send,
the onslaught incursion shape equal dispersion.
Sea cliffs under pressure free stiffed asunder sever,
cast in watery graves caused by tottery waves.
Assembling forethoughts resembling onslaughts,
the battered is scattered about,
and the shattered, splattering doubts.
New roles, the lesser deep as guardians o'er a wet scrapheap,
shorn from tempestuous holds ...
fragmented carnage neath ruling waves rolled.

Premium Member The Last Carrot

I can’t believe he took the last carrot
To fashion a nose for his tottery snowman
Even more surprised that Frosty could wear it
While running away as fast as he can!

Premium Member Reflections On a Street Corner

In an hour a thousand pass
Doctors, lawyers, truck drivers
Small and fat,
A straggly cat.
Six ladies in elegant furs
Two little boys chasing curs
A tottery, old man with a cane
The same scraggly cat again.
The local newsboy laden down
Big and small,
A runaway ball,
The corner cop awaiting the strike
Five o'clock, the rush hour jam
Wondering who I am
What I'm doing--

Premium Member Thanks So Much

There are no words to describe
How much your friendship means to me.
Abundant times you lend an ear, a helping hand,
Notwithstanding your own problems,
Knowing what a difference it makes to my life…
Stabilizing a tottery sense of purpose.

Steadily, through the years, you have proved your worth
Offering support when hope hangs by a thread…and

My fragile expectations succumb to despair…
Until each time you come to my rescue
Carrying the weight of my inadequacy
Helping – with love – expecting nothing in return.

Caterpillar

That this here
Precious caterpillar
Wiggle, waggle, jiggle
Me, myself, spy-ing
Peeping, prying
All around in green leafy
Looking at its wormy body
Quivering in tottery
Gandering at lovely
Floating, wavering
Birthing beauty
Of butterfly-een
