lymph drops glisten diamond formation
topaz glide froth transmutation ~
I wear a favorite ring now all the time.
On my wedding ring finger, but it is not a wedding ring.
It features a gorgeous blue pear-shaped topaz stone.
Highlighted by a band of eight rectangular shaped opals.
The opals are opalescent, shining pink and blue in the light.
Today I looked up the properties of both gems I wear.
Topaz is the symbol of hope and happiness.
Opals promote youthfulness.
Now I understand why I am drawn to this ring.
She completes me, bringing me joy and youth daily.
My all-time favorite piece of jewelry.
HIGH
IN THE SIERRA MOUNTAINS..
THERE'S A LAKE
THAT'S OH SO COLD.
BLUER
THAN THE BLUEST TOPAZ.
OLDER
THAN THE OLDEST GNOME.
SURROUNDED
BY SNOW CAPPED MOUNTAINS.
SHIELDED
FROM THE LONG DAYS SUN.
CARESSED
BY A COOL
AND GENTLE
MORNING BREEZE.
SCENTED
WITH THE
AMBROSIAL FRAGRANCE
OF WILD
MOUNTAIN FLOWERS.
AS THE MORNING SUN
BEGINS TO CLIMB
THE EASTERN SKIES.
IT REACHES
THE NEWEST HEIGHT
NEEDED
TO PEEKS OVER
THE MAJESTIC
MOUNTAIN RIDGE.
SHINING A WARM
AND GENTLE SMILE
ON TO
THE LAKE.
THE BODY OF WATER
SMILES IN RETURN
WITH GLITTERING
LITTLE RIPPLES
FROM THE GENTLE BREEZE
CREATING
A SYMPHONY
OF GOLDEN TONES
ACROSS
THE TOPAZ BLUE WATERS
SURFACE.
GENERATING
A MILLION SMILES
IN CONCERT
SOUNDING
THE ARRIVAL
OF A NEW DAY
WITH A CELEBRATION.
CELEBRATING LIFE...
THE BEAUTY OF NATURE
AND THE BEAUTIFUL VIEW
NATURE BRINGS TO LIFE.

The gold and green draping
Shines on thee amazing
As thou dance allegro
It reminds my era
Difference between us
Half generation thus
Yet it’s understanding
And the bond withstanding
Blessing to be blessed
With twin kids greenly dressed
Thus, one will bear my name
The other has thy fame
Golden being their mien
And an emerald green..!
I traded in my diamond ring for a pretty ring with a brilliant blue topaz.
She is surrounded by a band of gorgeous iridescent opals.
My husband did not question it, knowing my love for jewelry changes
This was six years ago; this exquisite ring continues to be a favorite.
My diamond ring is somewhere; unsure where and do not care.
This blue topaz ring uplifts me, replenishes me, revives me.
It gives me energy and enthusiasm.
It gives me strength; I feel love from it.
Fingers on my left hand do not feel complete without it.
Other rings parade back and forth on my right hand,
but this gem stays where it is.
On my right hand, ring finger, where other women park their diamonds.
The color of the sky and the ocean surrounded by white cap opals.
I think the appeal is simple.
It is a ring that I fell head over heart in love with,
I feel that it reflects my relationship with myself.
I have had many compliments on this ring.
Others feel the power she exudes.
I’m drifting dreaming soaring high
floating flying beyond the sky.
To this love this wonder of mine
my heart seeps a burgundy wine.
Fragrant blend of tangerine hope
scented sweetly, so vast its scope.
The chewy stars are pasted high
fading further dark sorrows die.
Descending through this Milky Way
the cosmos within which we play.
Lovely beauty’s hair is gleaming
raven locks so shiny streaming.
Topaz thoughts, cascading under
wondrous Zeus’ mythic thunder.
White hot lava hot flowing dew
scorching me as I’m loving you
Tranquil sounds soft echoing free
cognac kisses breezing through me.
Hyacinth woman sharing your soul
your cosmic being makes me whole.

Seven sisters in topaz blue,
Dazzling in crystal Winter sky,
An eager hunter doth pursue;
Yet it's all in vain he doth try
To glory in polygamy
For gods said it's not meant to be!
My Favorite Gemstone Today This Minute
Light blue topaz in a sea worthy shape
Worn proudly daily on finger and nape
Sapphires and green emeralds thrown in drawer.
Telling their secrets in hushed, pirate lore
Yes, I found the stone that makes my heart sing.
Topaz lifts me up on an angel’s wing.
Even my diamond is nothing right now.
Blue of the topaz is my biggest wow.
No, this will not forever remain so.
Gemstone lover, I am fickle, I know.

diamond is long gone
or not, no interest
Blue jewelry my favorite
It should never be the ring.
It should be the guy

Not

Jewelry....
Cat or Dog? Oh No-
I want a panther
with more spots than I have
on his long lean body
no matter how much time
he spent sunbathing
in his youth.
Neatly aligned ears,
cosmetic frown
furrowed in his brow,
plank-like nose above
an I Mean Business
mouth, and OH!
those topaz eyes.
(not about me, just a challenge where you are given ten words and have to incorporate
them into a poem. I used to do many of those kinds of challenges. Do they ever do them
here? They really are great at inspiring people to create!)
Topaz
Atop his pedestal, a golden girl was I,
Who never wanted to be up so high.
For though I was a gem, I was no diamond, and
we came undone just after we began!
Why could he not accept the humanness in me?
Such inconvenient truth he could not see.
A doubt I’d had in him, he took for treachery,
and so it was that he indicted me.
No matter what I said, his anger overgrew.
I waited, fearful of what would ensue.
He knew at last that I was not his counterpart
and tossed me off then with a hardened heart.
Then like some hoary seer, he made a prophecy
I’d have no other man as good as he.
But he has proved to be a prophet false indeed.
A simple topaz, sparkling gold, I’m freed!
