I didn’t see the moon in a pearly hue.
The ocean’s waves weren't a deep azure blue.
If the meadows didn’t sing a soft gentle tune.

Floodlights don’t shine brightly as I glimpse the starry night.
Waterfalls don’t cascade in a rainbow of colored light.
If the warm summer rain didn’t fall so lightly.

If I ceased to be able to rhyme, I could not write.
If eagles didn’t soar and doves didn’t take flight.

Either one will do
There's a difference
'tween love and fascination
But where is the line
Love can ebb and flow
Like the churning of the tide
In the human heart
Love's a fragile bloom

ALONE IN THE DARK
i stand alone in the dark hoping we're never apart i hold a rose in my hand
wishing you were my only man.
something about your love so sweet like a love so deep
i hold your hand and you hold mine will it last til the end of time.
i look at the stars and i look in your eyes is this love real or is it a dream i'll
never find.
love is real, love is adored but every time i show mine it's being ignored
love is warm, love is cold is it here will i ever know
season come and seasons go it's not fair i'm alone.
I’m a servant of the universe
My rank is junior minder.
I care for the solar system
As its oiler and winder.
Everything is done
To a very strict rota,
Checking every cog
And cleaning every motor.
The star has its thermostat
Rigidly checked and set
Its fuel delivery schedule
Very rigorously met.
Each planet has its key
Kept on its own ring
So I can check and fix
Each internal spring:
Wind it too tight,
The planet runs fast.
Not tight enough
The wind won’t last.
I once got it wrong
In my apprentice stage,
Wiped out the dinosaurs
And caused an ice age.
You can imagine all the ribbing
At the staff centennial dinner
Apprentice of the moment?
Never was the winner.
I have my own staff now
The systems work just fine.
Guess it should last right

My Valentine, I love you
I'm alone, but not forlorn
It's two-thirty in the morning
Heart strings stretched, but never torn
I awoke, you weren't beside me
But the love was that you left
I'm saddened by your passing
Your love is here, I'm not bereft
Today's a day to celebrate
Eternal love that's yours and mine
You'll always be here with me
You'll always be my Valentine
I hear a whisper in my ear
Hear your voice within my head
“I'll love you, 'til the end of time.
Now get your butt back in the bed.”
Penned with love, sweet valentine
You are the zest in my rhyme ~
I am yours and you are mine,
I will love you ‘til the end of time.
You are always in my heart
Though you are quite far away
I know we will never part,
I love you more with each passing day.
Someday we shall meet again
Two hearts will again entwine,
We shall sing the same refrain
Our song of love will be so sublime.

From the beginning of time, it always existed.
Like gravity, it pulled; magnetically explicit.
Undeniable connection, yet not a single word spoken,
Leaving the mind to wander into unexplored oceans.
A possessive beast he was, on guard like a glock,
He’d find me in every crevice, I swear he watched me like a hawk.
Sweet and charming in his affectionate ways,
My heart always felt what he tried to convey.
I miss watching him walk by from my bedroom window,
If only God gave our precious time a pillow.
This deeply rooted love never knew no bounds,
Yet our rules of engagement now lie on restrictive grounds.
A burning silence forced upon by complicated conditions,
Bottled up a million words of beautiful admissions.
I wish I could say all that I want to say,
For now, I can only let the lyrics play.
I wonder what he’d say if he knew,
There's a million and one songs that my heart sings to you.
You’ll always be mine, ‘til the end of time,
My hearts on arrest, convicted of a love crime.
Father God in You I hope to find
That Your words stay written on my mind
Etch onto my heart
Your infinite wisdom on how to live
Let Your words nourish my soul
Fueled by the love that to me You did give
Father God in You I pray to see
All the You desire me to be
Irradiate, illuminate
Let Your words light my way
Intensify and modify me
Every single day
Father God from You I desire to receive
Your Holy Ghost power so that I can proceed
To be on a mission for the Great Commission
To be your fervent servant with Your permission
So satiate and saturate me
With the Holy Scriptures
Let those anointed words percolate in me
Until I get the full robust gospel picture
Father God in You I pray to find
That Your blessed words stay written on my mind
Cover me with the sacred blood
That was shedded on Mt. Calvary
Consecrated me with Your grace
Confer unto me Your mercy
I now bow down to Your magnificence

And hope to one day stand with You
In your Heavenly Tower
So let those words in the Bible

Lord may Your anointed words
Stay written on my mind
I’m bound to love you ‘til the end of time,

I shall show you with the muse in my rhyme,
and wear that one lace and dark pink night dress.
For we shall be the ones who light the way-
you vowed to hold me with your strong tan arms,
and you still take pride in sweet words I say.
I have been drawn in by your praise and charms.
No way on God’s green earth would you leave me,
nor would I walk a dire fate with not you-
for now we live in a home with us three,
a teen with sass but has your heart so true.
For there has come a time to say once more-
you are all that I need…WHAT I LIVE FOR.

(This I know happens to me when I dwell on things and know I am "pushing" my writing and trying too hard, then any quality goes downhill, but I learn from each and every one. It's difficult for me to write daily like so so many others!!)
A Love that Grows Stronger
Never thought we would make it
Never thought this far
our love is rare
like a shooting star
It was mid-December
brisk cold was in the air
yet I didn't have a care
tossed a hail mary and said a prayer
Felt something different that night
shyness, nervous but all was alright
felt like you were the one
felt like I had won
Few days later and now New Years Eve
my heart pounding all along my sleeve
never felt like this before
this is a woman I adore
She wasn't close, lived far away
so I visited and decided to stay
our love grew fonder by the day
want to be with her until old and gray
Quarter of a century later
our love couldn't be greater
still growing, so many years later
Couldn't live without you, never
our love meant to last forever
a ring and a vow made you mine
I'll love you til the end of time
