Premium Member The Many Uses of Bubble Gum

In my youth, I made
A bubble gum ball . . .
That over time just got bigger and bigger, usually.
It was sticky icky, just like me.
It splattered perfectly onto the wall . . .
The bubble gum wall!
That over time became a work of Art.
Always getting bigger, usually.
Also, a great filler for holes, I’m told.
It also sticks great on bark, and behold,
The bubble gum tree!
Every childhood should have one.
That tree on the walk to school,
Or in the park next to the playground,
Or next to the community pool.
So everyone can share.
But, if you left your ball at home,
Already passed the wall, missed the tree,
There was always that spot under your desk,
Or perhaps that forgotten tuck behind the ear.

Of course, the cute girl two rows up,
Blew the most wonderful, beautiful bubbles.
And when they’d pop, everyone in class knew.
She’d just smile with sticky all over her face.
I, and every other pubescent male, just wanted to pick it off.
No, lick it off would be more correct.
And chew her gum gum ‘til the end of time.
Though, she, and many of the girls, had their own, very own
Bubble gum box.

I prefer freshly wrapped store-bought gum.
All those artificial flavors and “natural” sugars,
They’re the best! Yum!
Mom always bought us Dental Gum.
She claimed it was good for our teeth.
Though, it’s practically impossible to blow bubbles.
But I was never one to pass up a freebee,
Especially when I was broke, which was most of the time.

In my youth,
I always had gum in my mouth.
And I never needed money to buy my own.
If my pockets were empty (which was most of the time) . . .
There was always the ball, the wall, the tree, or the desk.
A quick check behind the ear, just in case I forgot.
If it got stuck in my hair, then probably not.
I don’t have a box, that’s for girls.

I have something better. . .
                                         A bubble gum world!

Premium Member Perry Como

One of the best entertainers of the last century,
this man’s collection of hit records is something to see!
His recording career commenced in nineteen thirty-three
He came from a small Pennsylvania town called Canonsburg.
This place is located just twenty miles south of Pittsburgh.
This famous crooner started in his town as a barber.
However, his true talent came forth as a great singer.
He started out singing with Freddy Carlone’s big band.
When he joined Ted Weems’ orchestra, he achieved fame at hand.
A wartime CBS radio show brought some success.
However, the NBC network found his great prowess.
Como was signed to a long-term contract with RCA.
Success with recordings and show business were on their way!
He appeared in shows on radio and television,
Fourteen certified number one songs came in succession.
“’Til The End of Time” and “It’s Impossible” can be found
With “A-You’re Adorable”, “Hoop-De-Doo”, and “Round and Round”
His great career lasted for more than half a century.
He certainly was a great man to listen to and see!

Premium Member Would You Still Love Me ?

31st August 2023.

I didn’t see the moon in a pearly hue.
The ocean’s waves weren't a deep azure blue.
If the meadows didn’t sing a soft gentle tune.
In a pearly hue I didn’t see the moon.

Would you still love me?

Floodlights don’t shine brightly as I glimpse the starry night.
Waterfalls don’t cascade in a rainbow of colored light.
If the warm summer rain didn’t fall so lightly.
As I glimpse the starry night, floodlights don’t shine brightly.

Would you still love me?

Fairies don’t dance with gossamer wings.
No wind through the whippoorwill sadly sings.
Eagles gliding high to mountain tops have no chance.
With gossamer wings fairies don’t dance.

Would you still love me?

If all I needed was you, not the air that I breathe and love.
If my dreams didn’t bring me to you on fluffy clouds above.
If the sky wasn’t sprinkled with glitter and cupid hearts too.
Not the air that I breathe and love, if all I needed was you.

Would you still love me?

If I ceased to be able to rhyme, I could not write.
If eagles didn’t soar and doves didn’t take flight.
If I was no longer a poet til the end of time.
I could not write, if I ceased to be able to rhyme.

Would you still love me?

Premium Member Valentine Codes For You

Can you read my lips?
My Sweet, keep it simple, still.

Can you read my arms?
To hold you, I’m going six feet under the ground.

Can you read my mind?
My girl- title is a lot for you,now the train is gone.

Can you read my hand?
So much for you are my tiniest finger, pointer and thumb.

Can you read and feel my heart?
From E to Y, for you it jumps and pumps.

Can you hear and feel me?
Satellite isn’t ahead of my fervor mental telepathy.

Can you really hear me?
If everything in me is mute on this Valentines Day?

If I’m mute and you’re blind,
Touch me, feel all my codes and you’ll find.

Sweetheart, have a Very Happy Valentines
I’m all yours today ‘til the end of time.

Pictures of the Past

I continue to try and convince myself
That by keeping the pictures from my past
I'm not still holding on to a love I once knew
But tonight sitting here all alone
I took one last look but to my surprise
It wasn't love I saw looking back at me
It was just an old memory
Of the girl I used to be
All the places I'd been
And people I spent my time with
In that single moment I came to see
That I didn't have to forget my past
In order to be able to move on with my life
Still sometimes those pictures I keep hid
Can make me feel things I know I shouldn't feel
But I'm old enough now
To know none of that is real
1,000 memories with you
Forgotten photographs
It's all a part of my past
I tried so hard to fight
Only to find I never really needed to
What I felt when I was with you
Was as real as it could've ever been
But that love came and went
And we both moved on with our lives
I used to see it as such a crime
To remember you
And the way you made me feel
But now that I'm grown
I think back to that time and place
And now when I do I smile
We were young, dumb, and in love
We had so much fun
For so long we were the best of friends
I think back to the trips we took
All the new places we got to see
Driving around with your hand in mine
Even if those pictures where long gone
In my heart and in my mind
I can see it all as if it were just the other day
A time in my life I don't think I'll forget
Some things may fade away
But I doubt your memory ever will
And that's ok with me
It'll be a story to tell til the end of time
Bring a good laugh or two
Because since then I've come to find
It all made me who I am today
And when I look back on my life
I couldn't imagine not having those stories to tell
So for now all those pictures of the past
I'll tuck them all away
Wait for a rainy day
To bring them out again
To see the story they can tell
Of the girl I used to be
And laugh about all those old memories
Hidden away in old forgotten photographs!!!

Shooting Stars

Shooting stars
By Michelle Morris
03/12/2022

Like shooting stars
Across the sky
We lit up the night
We lit up our lives

We met when
I was young
A teenage girl
With eyes for you

I entranced you
Sparked your desire
You coveted me
And all my fire

I gave in and
You gave me all
Our love took us high
To mountains tall

'Cos we lifted
Each other up
Up to the mountain top
But sadly when we stayed there
The air was too thin and clear

So long, my love of mine
I'll love you 'til the end of time
But our paths must now diverge
We have so many other
Adventures to learn from

Like shooting stars
Across the sky
We lit up the night
We lit up our lives

But we went our
Separate ways
Destiny's toll
Had to be paid

New loves for us
Different cities
We kept in touch
Our baby duties

Now here we are
Decades later
We've grown so much
Our lives are happy

'Cos we lifted
Each other up
Up to the mountain top
But we had to fly free
Set off to other worlds and people

So long, my love of mine
I'll love you 'til the end of time
Even though we stay in touch
We have so many other
Adventures to learn from

Lost love of mine
We're shooting stars
Lost love of mine
Shooting stars for all time

Premium Member Til' The End Of Time

Inspiration Glenn Hughes singing
Save Me Tonight (I'll Be Waiting)
From his Album, Feel

My Version - Til' The End Of Time

I am lost in this big world
with only memories
of you my darling
oh, I need your love

You whispered you would love me
til' the end of time

I've been such a silly girl
oh, I need your love
I'll be waiting, waiting
take a journey to me
say, I'll see you soon, love
I'll be waiting, waiting

I am counting the seconds
the minutes and the hours
then, we will be together til' the end of time

So hurry, hurry to me dear
I'll be waiting, waiting
I would wait for you til' the end of time

I want to feel your caress
your lips on mine
I'll be waiting, waiting
take that journey to me
become more than memory
I'll be waiting, waiting

I can hear your voice and laughter
that twinkle in your eyes
and that smile that fills a room
love you

I want to feel your caress
your lips on mine
I'll be waiting, waiting
take that journey to me
become more than memory
I'll be waiting, waiting
waiting .......

Curriculum Vitae

I’m a servant of the universe
My rank is junior minder.
I care for the solar system
As its oiler and winder.
Everything is done
To a very strict rota,
Checking every cog
And cleaning every motor.
The star has its thermostat
Rigidly checked and set
Its fuel delivery schedule
Very rigorously met.
Each planet has its key
Kept on its own ring
So I can check and fix
Each internal spring:
Wind it too tight,
The planet runs fast.
Not tight enough
The wind won’t last.
I once got it wrong
In my apprentice stage,
Wiped out the dinosaurs
And caused an ice age.
You can imagine all the ribbing
At the staff centennial dinner
Apprentice of the moment?
Never was the winner.
I have my own staff now
The systems work just fine.
Guess it should last right
‘Til the end of time.

Written On My Mind

Father God in You I hope to find
That Your words stay written on my mind
Etch onto my heart
Your infinite wisdom on how to live
Let Your words nourish my soul
Fueled by the love that to me You did give

Father God in You I pray to see
All the You desire me to be
Irradiate, illuminate
Let Your words light my way
Intensify and modify me
Every single day

Father God from You I desire to receive
Your Holy Ghost power so that I can proceed
To be on a mission for the Great Commission
To be your fervent servant with Your permission
So satiate and saturate me
With the Holy Scriptures
Let those anointed words percolate in me
Until I get the full robust gospel picture

Father God in You I pray to find
That Your blessed words stay written on my mind
Cover me with the sacred blood
That was shedded on Mt. Calvary
Consecrated me with Your grace
Confer unto me Your mercy
I now bow down to Your magnificence
Your awesomeness and Your power
And hope to one day stand with You
In your Heavenly Tower

So let those words in the Bible
Remain with me til the end of time
Lord may Your anointed words
Stay written on my mind
