Quill, Quahog?

O emptiness of space, thy harpsichords. Whole?
Panels out of place, looking-glasses smashed.
Bitter winds, thy frost. Sickness, dole, O soul.
Chaffy grain beneath the tired thresher slashed.
Turmoil, tamarisk tree. Toil? Thunderbolt.
Hated are the days of life gone dry. Why?
Reality thinned, then forgot how to fly.
Happy thoughts, lost. Cost? Harvest season molt.

Protection? None. Been and done. Sun? Hostile.
Yellow as eyes on a predator? Pill.
Alcohol, wormwood, erasure, vile vial.
Guns, thy salute. Funeral. Lunge, then still.
Ravine, out back and filled with water. Caught.
Animals afloat, belly up, life flew.
Grey old men, hope is a mystery. Clue?
Sparks, burned out and skittering. Fire, cold. Bought.

Doom, close in on all. Deliverance? None.
Stifled by Fate and Fortune? Withheld. New?
Nothing under the sun, scion. Red run.
Grasping fingers and a quill, quahog. Brew.
Wasteland, receive. Gold, far. Sandbar, choke. Smoke.
Poison, leap from serpent's fang. Deeply sunk.
Peril, everywhere. Round upward, time. Soak.
Continent, beneath water. Ocean, plunk.

Premium MemberDIVORCED

     Ardent ardour rippling in romance.
Glamour in amour also to dance.
Marital life running smooth with bliss.
Ideal family, I succeeded to establish.
      No complaints in marital relationship.
My duties cum career, I loved to worship.

      Loving husband and lovey children
felt me proud devoid of any strain.
Sudden thunderbolt blast in clear environ
Got devastated and heart was fully torn.

Conversation of Hubby in land line put me in suspicion
Somehow sensing pungent smell, picked up extension.
Stunned to listen about nasty betrayal.
Sudden shock sent me in dreadful dismal.
But my self-esteem and moral values forced
me to decide at that instant. Mentally I divorced
him : I discarded him, even situation was crucial.
When wound was malignant, surgery was essential.

Trickle Fickle

Trickle, river fickle.
Step lively by the side.
Fate, thy strictures tickle!
Hell, Heaven, woe betide!

Wind atop the high cliff wall?
Funeral, thy pall.
Cherry blossoms, heft to haul.
End Times, give a call...

Thunderbolt, hover above.
Levee, fail to hold.
Fit, misfortune! O my glove!
Coals within, glow gold...

Will of human beings?
It must not have the clout.
Everybody, pack thy things!
Doubt, begin thy bout!

Ruin, cover all our world.
Dim hope, flee from here.
Dark fire, lava, how you hurled!
Grind them, O my gear...

Ravine out back, what to pack?
Stuff it in a crack!
Failure, will you? Fade to black?
Turn about and tack!

Sullen honeysuckle?
How better to make wine?
Bridge, beneath their feet buckle!
Doom, undying dine...

Premium MemberBaal god of Fertility and Rider of the Clouds

Baal spent time in the underworld with the lesser gods
Learned how to make man miserable with the weather
Thunderbolts and lightning announced his earthly arrivals
Baal relished in the misery of lost sailors and dying soldiers.
He was a key deity in weather changes and stubbornness.
Thus, he was represented with a bull, ram or thunderbolt
Rider of the clouds some said; they were barely touching Baal’s strength.
He was the quintessential weather god, also, called
God of fertility, which goes along with moon cycles and weather.

They Named Me Zeus

From East to West
let my servant's trumpet
announce this victory
over those who defied me;
no Greek dares to fight me:
I am their uttermost deity!

They named me Zeus
and look to me for guidance,
I carry the thunderbolt
and I strike all enemies with vengeance;
they fell by the dozen
in the battlefield below Athens,
the ones who survived will challenge me again:
a huge temple can be destroyed and be rebuilt
in a year or less, not a life of a warrior
whose voice can be silenced by a spear!

On the Mount of Olympus
I'm watchful of conspirers,
I've sent Ulysess on a journey
he will land on the peninsula of Italy,
it's his second home more prosperous
than Greece, there Greeks will colonize
and build temples to deities in valleys
to withstand weather and time!

They named me Zeus
and I ride the golden chariot,
Greek women bow down,
Greek men shout and fight;
I instill in them valor and grit,
and they'll persevere in their quest:
win or die, victory or loss
are carried inside until they have won!

Premium MemberThe Power of Words

some words wound and some heal
some words seeping down, hearts steal.
some words hit hard, some deeply cut
some meant to praise, but some to insult.

some stay inert, dead on the lips.
some cement cracks, but some widen gaps.
some serve as balm to those who are broken.
some, to beautiful relationships, new doors open.

some words comfort, some are aimed to assault.
some, hit hard and pierce like a thunderbolt
God, help me utter words that uplift
use right words at the right time, a gift.

I know words have the power to heal n' hurt
to bring joy and tears alike in other’s heart.
Lord anoint my lips with grace to utter words sweet,
so that, in others, they would open inlets of delight.

Number 29 Gohon ghono chailo - Tagoreweb

Deep dark clouds, blackened each other, and a darkened sky, unfolds
motifs taming tenth around an unbridled mayhem , a hardened solitary oasis
Unruly a mayhem, entropy to the fullest ecstacy - obscure a causal willy horizon, enjambment
An absorbed night and a maiden skyline trembling fearful and uneasy
Again and again, a sudden surge of lightened whims, whistleblower preposition
Lightning followed by lightning struck in series, cacophony of the call lit up the dark oblivion
Trembling and shaking, the tempest and the gala, in the twinkle of an eye, on and on
Darkest deep overshadowed the heap , black and the glory
The clouds and the thunderbolt , a sleepy sky , speechless and without a clue
Awakened all of a sudden ,a bit salt of the poseidon, turner of the muse and the seven seas.

Premium MemberSky of Fireflies

His sanguine spirit turns every firefly into a star.
—Arthur Conan Doyle

Sky of Fireflies

Might I return to the night, alone,
except for the pitter patter of rain,
except for the thunderbolt of fireworks,
somewhere in the distance, rather
close, yet unattainable, except by foot
or engine roar, through my forest
and over the hill, beyond the houses,
might I return to the night, alone.

On the deck, my extravaganza begins,
beyond my nose, my fingertips, the screen.
In July, a rampant light show, as if
stars rappelled just above the human heart.
This electrifying dominion, quite unexpected.

The earth, moistened and morose. Osmosis
of celebration and outlandish spectacle,
for an audience of one. Oh! How good God is!

Amidst crackles and whistles, the strobes,
of an army of fireflies, light up my backyard.
Curious as Alice, have I fallen into Wonderland?
I have a front row seat sans willows, comets
and Chrysanthemums, but the sky over
my sodden green moss is the epitome
of heaven on earth; His presence in the night.

and next on my Birth Day.
April is an Auspicious Month in my life.

     Month April initiates
    most exciting wonderful storm named
" Kal Baisakhi" after the name of
       first month 'Baisakh'
      of Bengali New Year.

The charming storm is enjoyable to
     watch Nature's glamour with
joyful dance of leaves and branches
chased by strong storm along with
first cluster of grey and black clouds
     assembled with loud thunderbolt.

First shower of Summer is poured
     some times with hails.

Thunderbolt

With the mystical whiff
Dousing the air
he beckons hurriedly
Enticing the day
into the night
standing tall
he struts into the deed
defying every lurking laws
rummaging cloak and dagger
defiling the hallowed hollows
thus, infuriating the sitting gods

Premium MemberWALK OUT

' Better to walk out than to live in Fool’s Paradise.' - Poet

She had full faith that her love was honoured,
but marital life stood on bricks of lie.
Hit of thunderbolt from clear cloudless sky.
knocking her down on shock to paralyse.
She lived happily in Fool's Paradise.
Wheel of truth whirling just automatic.
She faced bare fact and acted pragmatic.
To drag conjugal life turned awkward.

Compulsive ' Break Up ' to proceed onward
Emptiness embowered: : She wished to cry,
but controlled herself and just said ' Good Bye' '
No question to adjust or to compromise.
So far, amour to appear as fake guise.
      Inevitable divorce to discard.

Premium MemberWhen Summer Is Gone

Scorching Sun in severe Summer brought draught with arid field.
Rainy season followed, when cracked soil about to cry.
Roaring storm and floating clouds rushed and fought.
Appeared showers when Summer is gone.

Loud thunderbolt, gust thrusts, cloud melts, rain showers.
            Plants bathe with branches, foliages.
Silky shiny leaves are kissed by rain drops.
             Glistening greenery embowers.
                Sun not sizzling, raindrops drizzling.
Soil gets moistened, glossy green grass in mass.

           Flooded damped ground .
           Football played wearing soggy Jersey.
Immersing one leg on muddy marshy land
standing long - necked crane to catch fish.

Rain showers soothe when Summer is gone.
Dry Nature gets blessings to relish.
             All around fine freshness sparkle.
           New love cheers, excites, entertains.,
           confusing amusing muse of lovers.
Refused love blends in tears with ceaseless rains.

Premium MemberRAINING IN SUMMER

Raining in summer ! Always nice to bless,
whether showers be heavy, more or less.
Rains moisten to cool, soothe and impress.

Me to face tropical sizzling summer,
strongly hitting with humid hot hammer.
Dry days meet thirst fram rain drops to murmur.

Scorching heat perchance calling immense cloud,
loaded with aqua mass carried in crowd
Summer rais burst flashing thunderbolt loud.

Trees and plants are slapped by strong summer storm.
         Natural happenstance, absolute norm,
          inviting summer showers to perform.

Soil caught in draught rejoiced in mirth.
Pleasant petrichor oozing from wet earth.
Bubbling passion for you taking new birth.

Premium MemberThe Paralytic

Paralysis in the body makes the mind dead as well.
Doesn't existence drag, like an engine-less machine?
Though a hundred stewards assist, isn't life more than hell?
bed, like servants who never heed, remains deadly serene.

Tension and depression rise like a monsoon thunderbolt.
They stay on, like seasons, with alterations in tempers.
Anger, anxiety, and uncertainty tunnel-vault
Helplessness and hopelessness blaze like unending embers.

These found favour in the eyes of the one who came for them.
Just a look, a smile, a gentle touch, and a word of peace
In his person, he resembled the world's most precious gem.
In his presence, each one found their eternal troubles cease.

Four carried him, as though he were dead, when they came to him.
Carrying their cots, they walked, singing a grace-filled hymn.
