Tempestuous Self-Esteem

Expectations brings
about self deprecations,
sometimes I wonder if 
the thoughts running 
through my head are 
my own or somebody 
else’s?

The world lives
in constant turmoil,
waves crashing,
tides swerving in
and out from open-
ended beaches,
abysmal delays of
the lighthouse directory,
guided by supplemental 
shocks of lightening
rays trajectory.

I stand firmly in front
of the baseless sandcastle,
a fragile foundation of
past voices from lurking
shadows who slowly

In the silences of twilight, I merge with the colors of a tempestuous dream

Time and tide again waits for no man
tempest-tossed upon life’s billow
The hull or the dinghy
Serves as a fortress
Though steady on its keel
Knocked his wits and sense
As he vacillates between levity and despair
Caused by his unbridled folly

Walls explode, windows crash
Lightning in the middle, ceremoniously mash
the safety of my core, the distressed world of my being

the truth written in heavenly bodies and locked in a celestial

Playing tug-of-war with every soul I meet

A Tempestuous Spell

A TEMPESTUOUS SPELL

Walking rapidly, yet pensively along the waters edge,
A shallow wave tickled my toes, and seductively
Crossed my path, caressing my feet, almost enticingly
Inviting, yet alerting me this was Africa’s sea, I should hedge
My bets, for ignoring it I would pay a high fee, yet, I took
A few more steps deeper into this captivating, frothing

Tempestuous Sea

I sailed the tempestuous sea

The squally water threatening to drown me

As I follow the stars hoping they will guide me home

Shouting at the wind

'Don't assail me!' 'Lord please save me! '

As I sailed this tempestuous sea.

I rode the high waves

Plunged down in the dips

The rain lashed hard just as if we're a whip

The water lashed

Boiling blackness rolls over the hillside

Seething skies like bloodshot eyes,
wailing gales assailing through canyon ~ 
weeping fits, ember storm cries
bristling tears with random abandon.

East to west, unwanted guests,
downsloping dire breeds with fire
fueling fest of fiery crests
aborning hells of unholy spire.

Santa Ana merciless winds breathing
capricious firebrands kindle tinder teething.

Quintessentially Tempestuous Nature

Captured in twinkling apricot diamonds dappling cosmoses

& ocean's tumultuous roar of foaming cerulean furor,

prolific winds that howl & soar atop empurpled elevations

mid streams that pierce meadows of extravagant greenness,

thunder that splits the skies, nourishing the promise of an

exalted burnt umber earth spinning in tempestuous regnant

surrendering wildflowers wherefrom mysteries shade the trees,

magenta and sapphire sunsets 'tween
